Spot-on. What many companies see as "piracy" a very large number of video game enthusiasts see as "preservation".

Moraduke funny enough Nintendo got caught downloading their own Super Mario ROM and sold it on Virtual Console or something like that. They didn't do a very good job of preserving their own content and they relied on what they call piracy to actually keep something so important like that alive.
