Eh, It's a busy city. You have constant changeover and people don't concern themselves with what these 'weirdos' are doing. It Takes a special person to film it and post it on UA-cam. But ultimately, almost everyone knows it's an illusion and people can't levitate. For the cost of a red sheet, you can conceal the kernel of the trick - which he did, because even this guy didn't get the footage. OR he did, but respects the craft and hustle so edited it out.
Piece o cake. In morning when he sets up, those people currently passing by are now at work when hes in final position. New passerbys is what hes interested in, not the people that see him set up. And most of those people in the morning that seen him setup are now at work and are making bank and could careless what hes doing.
I have a great respect and admiration for street entertainers disregarding what their number are, tricks or whatever. I believe isn't easy to stay in front of a crowd and try to show their best to entertain us. Much respect.
I saw this in Brisbane and realised immediately how it was done. People here are confused because the video doesn't show a key portion of the structure: the horizontal iron rod that fits into the top of the vertical pole also has an additional iron contraption hanging off the end of it with a horizontal seat structure on which he sits. He supports no weight with his arm: the iron rod provides full support, and the sleeve of his garment hides the iron rod. And the whole contraption doesn't overbalance because of the two-pronged pedestal he set up right at the start.
I remember someone on America's got talent doing this trick and stumping me. then a few years ago I went to Rome, Italy and saw a street performer doing this and seeing it up close and in person stumped me even more
Haha that's what I was thinking! It's like he is making sure no ones paying attention to his set up, although that draws more attention in the long run.
LuckyL13 true but the film is heavily edited. If would have taken aot more than 2.57 min to set all that up. So maybe he chased off the guy with the camera several times. Lol
Very strong metal can support his weight. You attach metal beams throughout the clothes and all he has to do is sit on the metal seat in his pants and the weight is distributed to the support structure on the ground. I imagine it’s uncomfortable since you can’t sit on something very big. Great design and math makes this possible

I saw one in nyc. Between the rug and the fact that he was sitting, it was more or less obvious to me what was going on, but my kid thought it was cooler than my detachable thumb so i was happy to give the guy a quick handy and a couple bucks.
+Ferno Joey The final trick he chose not to reveal. He realized that the people around him were observing him and hid that part. Got to admit that he has both engineering skill and tactical intelligence.
Saurabh Banerjee The part we don't see in this video is that there is a seat that is attached to the pole and so he is sitting comfortably. The clothing covers that and when he goes under the red - they don't show him attaching the second bit of the bar which goes around his back and has a seat attached.
Christian It is a job. Does he make money? Yes it's a job. You think he wakes up every morning to put a smile on your face? Well maybe but the dollar in your pocket looks better. Lol
I liked the reveal to satisfy my curiosity. Still, I admire street performers because they expose themselves daily. I've always told myself that if I lost my job, then I would perform on the street instead of just begging. It's still working, only now with the creative arts.
+Zombiesbum Actually sitting in general is kinda bad for your posture. Laying down and standing is best. If you work an office job sitting at a computer all day, even if you're sitting very well, you're going to pay the price later on.
Zombiesbum Nope, if you do it consistently enough for long enough, I guarantee you, you will have back, hip, spine or neck issues at some point later in your life. People seem to think that our butts are for sitting on, our butts are at least 80% for squatting and picking things up, very little to do with sitting.
Matt Ranson well my father gave me a bag of kool aid grape flavor and my mother hanged a Jack Daniels as a piñata and it was my 5th birthday. True story
It's entertaining to watch for passersby and brings a smile and sense of wonderment. All that trouble he is going to for that, I hope he makes enough money every day. I agree with other commenters..this is honest work
The trick is this: behind his back he has an iron harness attached to a tube on the left side of his arm. All this system connected in turn with the vertical tube that is supported with a metal platform installed on the floor. This system allows you to lift your legs and hold yourself in the air for a few minutes. This is why the left arm has little mobility through the tube and the metal platform is covered with a carpet, but if it is done on the beach it is covered with sand. That's how easy and simple this "levitation" trick is.
It's all about the centre of gravity. I went with the wife and youngest son and saw the same trick on the Copenhagen city street walk and I said to Josh "notice what is underneath him, how that carpet is covering up something square underneath, that will be a plate, and the weight support goes up his arm." We walked closer and as I passed I said to him quietly "nice illusion" and then motioned subtly, so as others would notice, to the top of the stick and said "the weight is all here" and he replied softly "of course" and showed appreciation that I didn't ruin the trick for him.
It's not about if you ruin the illusion or not it's the fact that this person you saw put more effort into that idea then most people do at a real job I'm not one for giving out money to panhandlers but I love people who put effort into making money
YourTechGuide. We already see how he does it. He has it hooked under his arms and is using it to hold himself up. Used to do this as a child and hang from stuff. This man must have killer abs and arms to make himself "sit" for so long.
not be a hater I have a real problem with my city, junkies left and right bumming change for drugs but I actually respect this guy and I consider this amazing. he is entertaining people with magic props to the guy for a unique illusion
this trick and the knowledge of the "hows" has been around for decades and decades, having started in India with the "levitating" saints. This guy is just being smart for taking that knowledge and parlaying it for some $$ in this venue.
Y'all are taking my comment waaay too seriously. I would never really take the man's money. He definitely earned it. Providing the entertainment he has is plenty worth it. I was making a joke. Like do something, anything, to cause a reaction out of him. (Which, I figured, short of stealing his money, nothing really would because he's so dedicated.)
Dude, the magic of magic is the magic of not knowing how the magic is magicked. Enjoy the magic, don't figure it out, what makes magic good is not knowing.
Many commenters on here seem confused as to how the man is pulling this stunt off. It's actually quite simple: The golden arm holding the support staff is actually not his arm at all, it's just a solid cross support bar in the shape of an arm that's connected to the visible staff on one side, and to another hidden bar that's perpendicular to it on the opposite end. That other end of the hidden bar then has a seat attached to it going about only halfway down, with the seat being supported by the whole support structure of the two parallel bars connected by the "golden arm" bar. The man just sits down on the seat with his other arm not inside the solid "golden arm" bar, but rather on the side by his torso which is hidden by the golden jacket.
Bruh. You're not nearly as clever as you think you are. His arm is clearly inside the jacket sleeve, he's just got the pole hidden in the sleeve next to his arm.
its basically a seat that he sits and the frame is made of metal. the frame is hidden inside the clothes. its a fantastic illusion, give the man some money :)
It's funny that he's looking around suspiciously while setting up to make sure that you're not recording his secrets. I like to imagine you wearing a ghillie suit and hiding near some hedges while recording this.
Because Ahmed, if all MANKIND will just get a Normal Job then, NO one will ever entertain us. It is like saying if all of us are RICH then No one will do our garbage, clean our house or even process our food. Thanks.
Your missing the plate he's actually sitting on. At 00:26 you can see the pipe sticking up, again at 02:36 you can see it sticking up on the left behind the orange cover. They never actually show that part being installed. He's not sitting on a pipe, it's a flat plate that gets installed in the portion running down out of the sleeve down the back. FWIW
If you look at his gold tip pot, there is a cord running underneath the platform or rug his pole is on. The carpet is over the hydraulic system which he uses his hand to either go up or down. The pole his hand is resting on, has a metal rod you can't see that goes up his arm and down to a seat which he sits on, this is covered by the costume. So while it looks like he is floating up and down, it is just a eye trick. You can sort of see how the rod goes up the arm of his suit at the end by paying attention to his hand position!
+Lucrezia you should have pushed his ass over, he has steel bars running all through him, it's not like he's gonna be able to get up easily, let alone chase you LOL.
If I saw this I have to give him some money for the effort he's putting in not just sitting there with a cup and saying please give me money without paying some effort in love it
Bagpipe man is all, man I learnt the fucking bagpipes, all you are doing is sitting on a weird chair! Levitating man is all, oh yeah like anyone could tell if you didn't really know how to play the bagpipes. Their eyes meet and they realize there's a connection. They go out for a drink after busking, one thing leads to another and they spend the night at bagpipe mans house. After several wonderful years bagpipe man finally gets the courage to get down on one knee and propose. Levitating man says yes. They have a beautiful wedding and move to a small house in the country. Then levitating man murders him because you should never trust a second rate busking magician.
The weight from the bottom pipes supports the pipes running through his body which holds him up, the "stick" is purely a pipe than turns into his sleeve, then through his jacket, that allows him to sit mid air because of the amount of weight on the ground that supports his upper body.
Rubius i know he's sitting on a metal construction, but still his hand is laying on the metal knob not in the most convenient position, so in a way it is even worse than holding it
Oh and you feel sooo smart for telling us! You never enjoyed magic? Pitty... when people loose the sense of wonder, that's when they really grew old...

Noel Abastillas He's sitting on a chair. But a chair with only one leg. The leg goes up his torso, then through his sleeve and finally down as a stick.
From :17 to :45 you can clearly see on the ground under the orange blanket the plate he sits on. Later it appears again from 2:38-2:48 then disappears as he is now sitting on it.
What i like to do is grab there Change Bucket and move it farther away from them so they have to ask someone to move it back then everyone ask why cant they do it.
how long does this dude stay like that? it still seams like it would be hard on his shoulders and arm to stay like that for hours and hours. I've never saw this performed live before
I did, twice. They sit completely still. At first, I tought it was a statue! I stared and stared, not beleving they where levitating, but, still trying to figure the trick out. I never did.
the trick is being able to sit on your ass on an uncomfortable ass seat all damn day with your arm up. I would so rather do a real job than a boring ass uncomfortable thing like that for money. seriously, 8 hours by yourself just staring at people holding a pole in a dirty ass outfit on a painful little metal seat? that is a nightmare, there are so many better ways to make money. Hell, an office chair starts to hurt after 8 hours can you imagine that little metal rack he sits on? ouch
he's making a honest living. great illusion. its still hard to sit there for hours.

If you tried this in Raleigh, you'd have cops all over you giving you trouble.
Andy Melgar Really? I'm in Cary! What's up? =P
Ha ha Raleigh cops would shoot him dead or charge him with 1st degree Sorcery by Levitation. Smh
Hahahaha... "where ya from & what church you go to?"
Thats why you buy a big box of Donuts for free samples. The Cops would be your best buddy.
M. Strain Jr. Hey!! I'm from Charlotte area. 😁😀
Grab his tip jar and snip it off and take off running. That's one way to find out how they do it cuz he ain't gonna just sit there then!
then all the people will go after you if you steal the tip jar and the guy will stay on his seat.
then give out all of your credit cards to homeless people
Y'all are taking my comment waaay too seriously. I would never really take the man's money. He definitely earned it. Providing the entertainment he has is plenty worth it.
I was making a joke. Like do something, anything, to cause a reaction out of him. (Which, I figured, short of stealing his money, nothing really would because he's so dedicated.)
Better be clear next time because that didnt look like it was a joke.
profgamer1 only to people with no freaking sense of humor. Good lord. Move on with your life.
Dude, the magic of magic is the magic of not knowing how the magic is magicked.
Enjoy the magic, don't figure it out, what makes magic good is not knowing.
ikr
ZLJJcloud
this can teach others how to magic
Because Magic is always magic. Magic Is love, magic is life
Slurp
then why are you watching a tutorial if you don't want to know how its done then simply don't click the video moron lol
His arm is clearly inside the jacket sleeve, he's just got the pole hidden in the sleeve next to his arm.
when will they patch this glitch?
It doesn't take a genius to figure this out ^_^
I still don't really understand, can some one explain it to me
I don’t understand because he got under the blanket
its basically a seat that he sits and the frame is made of metal. the frame is hidden inside the clothes. its a fantastic illusion, give the man some money :)
He should do this like 6 am or earlier so nobody can expose him
The beauty of the art of illusion is not to know. It's like a beautiful person dressed.
FYI sound track is Tarazanio - She Loves
+leeyang1990 Blessings upon you.
You are a blessing to mankind
No it's daruud sandstorm lol
It is more interesting to see him setting it up than the trick itself 😂
It's funny that he's looking around suspiciously while setting up to make sure that you're not recording his secrets. I like to imagine you wearing a ghillie suit and hiding near some hedges while recording this.
Parabéns, criatividade incrível, admiro esses artistas de rua.
I'm not an engineer, but I'm amazed the pipes don't bend.
kinda sucks someone gave away his trick
+Melvin Johnson you're right but I was dying to know man lol
and now they ruined somebody's only job... ✌
No one's job is ruined you idiot
Melvin Johnson ... sorry... are people really this .... that they cant see its just a one legged chair....
A Hasnath m
Because Ahmed, if all MANKIND will just get a Normal Job then, NO one will ever entertain us. It is like saying if all of us are RICH then No one will do our garbage, clean our house or even process our food. Thanks.
Basically that metal sticks held the plate that he is sitting on, so that is not his strength, it is a plate hidden in his clothes.. 👍🏻
There are people so creative and talented.
How much do these people make? There’s now way the amount of dedication they have is actually worth it
i still don't get how is he floating. by the way it looks, he is using he's strength.
The stick goes to the glove and theres a pipe in the glove that goes to a beam that he sits on
+Ajay Patel thank you I didn't know either
+BrockGrimes ah crap, sorry I should have clicked open replies! Sorry for the dupe response :(
I had no idea they wear gloves. I thought they painted their whole body. damn.
Me too-
Just saw this in Rome yesterday...
+Lucrezia you should have pushed his ass over, he has steel bars running all through him, it's not like he's gonna be able to get up easily, let alone chase you LOL.
Haha me too
me2
+Aldora LaPlume I wish I was in Rome. Beautiful city and of course, beautiful girls like yourself.
+supercooled ._.
I just watched an Indian movie called P.K and the trick is completely relieved 73 min into the movie.
+MoonlightDreamer too funny
The Immortal Wat.
+Cal6009 yay someone that saw this shit in 2015 😎
thats a cute story...
+Cal6009 You have issues
Now I can die in peace
Pretend to run away with his cash... He'll reveal his trick quick😂
The cash bottle is attached to the pole.
We've heard of the inhumanity of man to man; but this is the ingenuity of man for man.
The weight from the bottom pipes supports the pipes running through his body which holds him up, the "stick" is purely a pipe than turns into his sleeve, then through his jacket, that allows him to sit mid air because of the amount of weight on the ground that supports his upper body.
what if he needs to pee?
then when he need to take a dump?
TheRock2013 It's better off if we don't know ... :|
forget peeing, what if his hand gets num?
BlackPixelIsrael Is hand is not holding anything. He's sitting on metal bars.
Rubius i know he's sitting on a metal construction, but still his hand is laying on the metal knob not in the most convenient position, so in a way it is even worse than holding it
What if hes got to pee?
cast390 hold it!
The pole is also a catheter.
lmao!
+cast390 No drink = no pee
+Nick Pinch lol
I'd give my money to the bagpipe player.
Yup, at least that actually requires skill. Never really went in for street performers that didn't actually do anything but stand.
He still has to sit there and do all of this. Great trick. He is earning his living.
i saw this levitating performer in Las Vegas and it look so cool...it stay with me wondering how they do it but now i do.Thanks.
Oh and you feel sooo smart for telling us! You never enjoyed magic? Pitty... when people loose the sense of wonder, that's when they really grew old...
The death of wonder is the birth of knowledge. I'll take the latter every time.
fjohnson747 says the man with the Willy Wonka avatar... That man was full of wondrous delight!
Kitty Meow He was also a fictional character in a child's fairy tale.
That statement is so wrong... Wonder is one thing that makes people search for knowledge... The death of wonder would signify the death of humanity...
Sonia Rodríguez It is a real pity if you lose the ability to spell, but then I am old and have lost all sense of magic and wonder.
I wish i didnt know :D sometimes it feels better not to know then to know, and tricks that arent created to harm anyone but just give you kinda a wow thing i like. i will make sure give soem coins next time i pass by one of these guys,
Bunny T Club you probably forgot you wrote this but worse the guy filming it and the guy doing it don't know each other so this guy filmed illegally thats my opinion
Some grammar
Abdihamid 114 it's not being filmed "illegally" sibce you are free to film anybody without their consent, as long as it's in a public place.
Bunny T Club I
Abdihamid 114 its on a public street so nothing illegal about it
From all the people that walked by... I was the only person that didn't know apparently.
Te admiro mucho y veo todo el trabajo que hay detrás dé esa pose espectacular.
It's an honor to see a good video.
I like his boots
wtf?
+Olivia Doka he likes his boots
the big deal is what exactly? just cause you prolly aint got the same opinion geez man get gone
They're just regular Timbs. Everyone in the hood rocks them
yeah, even someone like you wears them, how special.
Timberlands not timbs
i dont get it
why not just do everything under the orange tarp?
Now I fell bad for him
Simply amazing magnificent illusion...
BRAVO....
You shouldn't have filmed it, he is doing it for living, respect that.
It's too spooky not knowing how he does it though and this video didn't reveal that entirely. I still don't get how he does it.
I still don't understand how he is sitting up in the air without falling if only the hand is what's being held up ????
platform connected to the stick going thru the sleeve down the shirt inside his pants
So apparently, according to the video; to levitate, you just need to put a blanket over yourself.
I still don't get how he's able sit like that. I get the pole extends into his coat but how is he sitting?
he basically is hanging from the pole
Noel Abastillas He's sitting on a chair. But a chair with only one leg. The leg goes up his torso, then through his sleeve and finally down as a stick.
Hr Gwea l
Still very creative, I would not have thought of that 🤷🏽♀️
From :17 to :45 you can clearly see on the ground under the orange blanket the plate he sits on. Later it appears again from 2:38-2:48 then disappears as he is now sitting on it.
Well now I feel bad to have watched this.
***** If "shitting someone" means kidding someone, no.
***** I still found it wierd...
And my brain was melting at 40 degrees celcius, heat wave XD
he put on a chair
Love it.😊
Then from floating to levitating? Depending on what the code runs?
the trick is being able to sit on your ass on an uncomfortable ass seat all damn day with your arm up. I would so rather do a real job than a boring ass uncomfortable thing like that for money. seriously, 8 hours by yourself just staring at people holding a pole in a dirty ass outfit on a painful little metal seat? that is a nightmare, there are so many better ways to make money. Hell, an office chair starts to hurt after 8 hours can you imagine that little metal rack he sits on? ouch
Nevertheless, this is hardwork. I Respect that!
Must be a pain in the ass.
literally.
Hith2re
Was this video taken and uploaded with the street artist's permission?
he keeps looking at the bag pipe guy like "i cant let that bastard see this shyt"
