- We tried to trick Ancestry DNA to see whether their results are real. We have always wanted to do a test to know where we're actually from but we weren't sure if the results were actually real or something they put together from family connections.... and here are our results.

Romany people originated in current day Pakistan, that may help explain that! 🥰
yeah current day pakistan and northwestern india, mainly punjab and kashmir.
They travelled with and supplied diverse muslim armies from Pakistan to Spain to the Balkans. When the Ottomans withdrew, some stayed behind
@@OfficialSilverMoon Their Actual origins is found to be in central India in and around Madhya Pradesh
@@kd5055 nope.
The romanian gypsies orgin is Rajasthan, the desert people before for different reasons kept moving.
Actually you have central south asian DNA because romani travellers were originally from modern day northwestern india/eastern pakistan so the results are expected.
The Romany came from Rajasthan. Yes you are right.
The Romany are from South Asia.
Yes from Punjab Rajasthan and Haryana of India and Pakistan.

It may also be coincidence, because less than 1% is noise. I have 1% Finnish, but I know all my ancestors back at least 5 generations, and there's no hint of Finnish.
The Asian part of him was to be expected if he has a romani ancestor, considering the romani originate in the indian subcontinent
Hey Kiimmy?As a fellow Kenyan...TRUST ME THERE WAS ALOT(and I MEAN ALOT)of migration/INTERMARRIAGE in AFRICA.
The borders of most African countries didn't fully exist before the 1920's

THIS ⤴⤴⤴⤴⤴
I was going to say the same before i saw your comment, Bantus are called bantus for a reason we eat cornmeal as well in Southern Africa . Africa is one , borders are artificial and they were created by Europeans in 1884.
I agree,
@@moxide Bantu is a language classifier. It doesn’t actually tell us much about the people and corn came from the Americas but was passed on through trade. The classifier of African people in general is pretty poor. For one, anything they don’t classify as Bantu is thrown into Afro Asiatic and Nilo-Saharan. The Nilo-Saharan range from Nigeria to like Kenya despite having almost no differences. The language isn’t even in the same group! Hausa is not remotely similar to Luo, yet they all fall under this Nilo Saharan banner. Kikuyu isn’t similar to Wolof but again, somehow these are Bantu languages. It seems to me, poor research got us here. The similarity in cuisine comes from thousands of years of trade. We know Africans probably traded with each other because of the existence of things like ivory and ostrich shells in countries that don’t have those animals.
Basically Kimmy is 100% African 😊 African Queen we see you

This comment came from a good place but African groups are not just 1 whole band of people. Let's not wipe out unique heritages that took centuries to develop. Each ethnic group is different and still beautiful. Nothing wrong with diversity within the continent.

That’s because they are little children just going out in the world. Sigh. They’re smart though, they’ll learn about the world.
That kinda shocked me that they thought that. I'm still not sure if they understand just because you're family come from a certain country doesn't mean your DNA comes from that country. 1000s of years of migration are at work.
They wanted to be sure. Results reliability
It's worth testing it's legitimacy. It

If your ancestry involved a Romani person (Romani traveller, right?) as you mentioned, the Pakistan/North-West India environs are actually an indication that the tests do have merit to them - contrary to your initial assumptions and scheming😂

Miss Kimmy is not all Bantu. Check the timeline of racial subgroups in Africa. Bantu, although the most recent mutation, has expanded at the most rapid rate, and is likely to displace all of the earlier (Sub-Saharan) African races. Nearly all Blacks/African-Americans in the United States are of Bantu ancestry. The really exciting thing (for me) is the Khoisan inheritance. Unfortunately, the Bantu had largely destroyed the Khoisan long before European colonization south of the Sahara.
I was shocked to see that I have Bantu ancestry (only 1%) - but unfortunately not surprising considering how white people treated everyone.

For Kimmy's DNA, it makes sense as back in the days African populations used to moved around quite a lot. Linguistically speaking as well. Kenya and Congo share Swahili and Shona ans Tswana have a lot of similar words with Swahili as well.
I think the Central Asian part of James' results are related to the Romany Traveller aspect of his ancestry.

Ethiopia in the house! 🇪🇹 As an Ethiopian married to a Kenyan and Kikuyu the Ethiopian roots warmed my heart. Beautiful couple.
Ethiopian Bantus like Amhara, Ngurage etc like Kikuyu and other Kenya Bantus and other Bantus are the true children of Israel
Some tribes in South Africa migrated from the central basin of Africa and probably mingled with the Kikuyu on the Eastern part of Africa. Thing is, "borders" are a mind construct so you would find that a tribe belongs to two or more countries e.g. the Zulus and their offshoots are found in almost all southern African countries and a bit in Tanzania ( read Zwangendaba and the Ngoni migration route). I am Nyamwanga, found in Tanzania and Zambia.
Point is, If you have a southern gene in you its pointless to point out one country because your exact gene could also be found in Magwegwe West, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.

@@AKumar528 It would be due to Romany ancestry. DNA tests only go back 6 generations. Also a lot of people take these tests too literally as a lot of populations have crossover so there is shared dna. It also depends on the database they compare you to. There are a lot of variables involved.

Well in History the original ancestry of Bantus in East Africa come from the Congo region. Also interesting fact Kikuyus and Shona share some words and there's a small Shona population in Kenya

Ancestry DNA doesn't spend time looking up people. They really do use your DNA. Not everyone uses their real name. Sigh. I have never heard of the DNA sites asking for a birth certificate. Birth records are part of the history search for trees, not your DNA. Many people have found family members who were adopted out (obviously not a name link) or parents they didn't know they had.
