Update on Ridgeway Triple Chime Mantle Clock

I replaced the movement on this after searching for 5 years for a replacement movement. This is finally working again!
Bought the clock for $60 at Tom Harris Auctions (now closed) and the movement on eBay for $40.

It’s urgos which is not as common

I’ve never seen a hermle with Winchester. I think urgos is the only modern German maker that used the chime.

The old movement you should fix and sell it I heard they are really rare and a restored movement can go for around up to 600 dollars

Noice you could use hermle or kieninger movements but the urgos is no longer available though.

You’re right that I could use hermle or Kieninger. But I bought this clock for the sole reason that it featured Winchester chimes. Hermle or kieninger never made a Winchester chime movement as far as I know. And conversion from urgos to hermle or any kind of brand conversion is not as simple as some think.

Though it would probably be thousands of dollars it could be possible to have hermle take a old patent and make the same movement brand new because hermle now owns urgos and all of its patents and old stock and everything urgos had

You could be right. Although just finding a used movement on eBay is much simpler.

@@samsclocks2084 it would be pretty rare but I’m sure a clock shop or eBay user out there has a old urgos movement with Winchester chimes like this one still new in the box just never used
