Sugar Baby Love, 50 years old in March. what a song. Sparks luckily got to do TOTPs a couple of months later after they couldnt do it in the March and Rubbets at No 51 got that gig. Happy days were 1974 for me
Nice to hear Tony talking about his bandmates. I laughed what he said about what Alan when they got into first class on the train. I would have loved to have been there and heard him say it. I loved the Rubettes but like every other young girl I loved Alan ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂
I don't know how many records paul da vinci sold but with that voice he should have been a multi million selling artist, since sugar baby love in 1974 right up to today in 2024 there are not many singers who can hit the noted that Paul hit and made it look so easy,I loved the rubettes records and still do
FFS Tony you have talent forget the past let us enjoy your talents please leave your history behind and let us enjoy your talents, I believe baby I know and songs similar would have given the rubettes a future if only you and Alan Williams could make music together…. It’s not, about you too it’s about your supporters and what music you can make…. If only you and Alan could be friends again for the sake of your fans… You both have talents please share with us…
i always had a crush on alan williams his looks etc.he seems verry nice in intervieuws but t think tony is verry nice and perhaps to good for the group. but it is sad that they not stayed together. they good have played everything together country the glamrock. if they stayed together they good have made music from the glamrock periode the 50ties everything perhaps some country. ftom everything a little bit .i think people liked that verry much. for me the real rubettes john alan tony and mick. i grew up with the music. nice and verry good in live.
@@ronaldhushovd4505 hey mate! I am a big fan of the rubettes! I would really glad, I would have the "Sometime in oldchurch" recording as cd ! is there a way to get this from you ? maybe even with the lyrics ! ?
I saw them in Livingston Scotland prior COVID. They came on & played non descript songs & talked & talked & talked. Not one hit. Then they went off, put on the Rubettes flat caps gear & then played their hits that lasted barely 25mins. The previous 70mins was padded out & the talking done my head in. Why? Waste of £25, you've been warned.
i dont no what happend realy between this men something about problems music tony wanted country etc but i have the feeling they treated him not verry nice. alan is to blame the most for it they say but i good be wrong. i always liked alan williams his looks etc. seems verry nice in intervieuws. but hard to say. but i like the rubettes.
we owned tonys white jazzmaster ,it came in a hard case with rubetters fyers n memorabilia - which some one stole way back in the 90s ,the guitar was not good which is probably why tony sold it,we passed it on 2 a guy for 200 quid n a fender 12 string
Reporter hopes for front page on Rubette band members. Tony remembers his friends as ordinary and down to Earth. 💯 Respect

I always though Tony was a bit too good for The Rubettes!
Me too , because He was - One of the v best guitar players I’ve ever known personally ( He was our Guitar tutor @Blackburn college )
