I feed the squirrels and chipmunks in my backyard. It's the highlight of my time outdoors! They keep coming back looking for more everytime they see me. "Chippy", my friend(a chipmunk), will let me gently pat him as he fills his cheeks with peanuts. They are my kids and I love them all!!!
So adorable. I love this sweet furry wonderful creatures and I'm so glad that there are compassionate people who treat them well and give them comfort and a nice h9meand still let them play outdoors which is where they thrive in their natural setting..
aww...so cute! I am rehabbing a squirrel right now..hopefully she will be able to be released after winter.Of all of my rescue adventures, she has been the hardest but most rewarding...it will be bittersweet to see her go when she does. loved your video!
Bet ya billionaires have never done this ... you’re the richest man on earth 🌏 for playing with these adorable squirrels 🐿🐿🐿 We put this on our playlist CUTE CRITTERS
My mom used to feed peanuts to squirrels. But she did it a little differently. she would tie one end of a thread to one peanut then she strung a bunch of them together in a row about two inches apart. It was fun watching the squirrel grab one and drag a three foot long string of about 15 peanuts across the yard and then try to bury them. They would usually begin burying them but then get tired and hungry, pop one open and eat it, rest then continue working on burying them then get tired again and pop another one open, eat it and rest and repeat. Usually they'd get most buried but eat maybe three or four along the way. We thought they'd bury them all in one pile but instead they would bury them in small groups of 2-5 peanuts. Sometimes the string would extend across the yard so there might be three different holes a couple of feet apart and other times they would bite through the string and make shorter strings of peanuts to bury in different areas of the yard. The point was to make it possible for a squirrel to carry a group of peanuts all at once. They seem to like that idea until it's time to bury them. Mom didn't do it for entertainment but it became very entertaining after a while.
An older couple I know used to feed squirrels in their backyard so often that their furly friends came to claw at their screen door asking for food. The couple actually bought shelled peanuts just for the squirrels. LOL
Me too. Those little buggers would come right up to my screen door and look inside my kitchen, as if to say “hey, I am here waiting for food. Feed me please.” Sometimes, they would sit on top of my fencing, watching me in the kitchen. There is one rambunctious grey one that climbs up to the second floor on my window sill, as if checking out the house. They are very curious little creatures and are quite bold may I say.
Youre really nice and goregeous with these cute little fellas. Nature is so wonderful, when humans don't destroy it...Well done...a very nice and funny - educative video.
Squirrels are so awesome. I had one as a pet that fell out a tree as a baby and momma never came to get him. They have tons of personality and are much smarter than most people think. He used to sit on the curtains and jump onto my shoulders when I got home from school. He also loved ice cream and would run up and snatch the ice cream off the top of an ice cream cone and run off with it.
+Winston Smith That's a great story, they really are smart and friendly - wild ones like these are a little lacking in table manners, but ones raised from young behave better :-) BB
It's so nice to see effort put into a video Different music 👍 And not a short video like so many do just to get more views You can post links to any 🐿squirell stuff on our channel if you wish?

i have watched several squirrel vids. i am no expert, however I see mention that peanuts are not really good for them. I know it's a year too late. I really like your enthusiasm, patience creativity and humor. ty for vid n caring.
I've been trying to feed the grey squirrels peanuts that live in my back yard but they will not come close.. I put corn and peanuts out in the tree and that is closest I can get but, the birds and chipmunks don't mind me at all.
I love watching these squirrels, but the camera angles are off so they chop off the squirrels upper body as they catch the peanuts, which is the subject of the video.
My squirrels are tame, but not that tame. I wonder if it matters that my yard is wooded. The blue jays are as tame as the squirrels, but not as easy to identify individuals.
+TooLooze I had blue jays eating out of my hand two years ago: ua-cam.com/video/tAFE1SkiGt0/v-deo.html The area behind the Backyard fence is a dense jungle where the squirrels live sharp boundaries like that are great for wildlife. BB
Patience. Try just hanging out with them for awhile; if you have to stand far away from the food, let them be comfortable but see you. Later, only give them food when you are around. They will learn.
It's so good of you to care for these little guys. It's easy to tell that you love them a lot.

+Th3B1rdN3rd Too much fun!

That is the cutest thing ever when they have their hands extended just begging for a peanut. "gimme gimme gimme gimme!"
These are the first squirrels i've had do that - maybe evolution......

Simply wonderful little animals.
Nice catch, boys! You have enough squirrels to start a team.
Cool little fuzz ball!

Aww, how cute. I want to rub their backs and give them a hug.

Yes, sometimes the squirrels will wait at the door in the morning, but the Blue Jays are even more demanding!
That's me now. I have 3 fat male squirrels who claw at my screen door every morning.

Here at Michigan State University, the squirrels are so friendly, I hand feed them everyday! My professors tell me I made a new friend.
Now that is what I call a good time. Very entertaining. 👍 👊
They're so adorable. Thanks for this gorgeous video :)

How long have you been doing this with them ? For a while I would think! My yard squirrels hardly eat the nuts & fruits I put out for them🤗
Cute :) Your camera have very good/big quality of image

As long as peanuts don't become a major part of their total diet. They are more like a treat.
Adorable!!!!!!
*_The problem with you guys is that you lack focus._* That's some funny stuff, right there.
Where can I sign them to my team?
Even i want a squirrel
They need some custom made ball caps, then they could play against Alvin and the chipmunks.
Teaching them to catch is the easy part. Teaching them to throw....that's another story.
To much fun
a fun time for everybody . . .
I have one that I toss peanuts to. He can only really catch them if the land right in his arms. It's so cute though when he tries.

+MyBackyardBirding Wow! I just watched that one too.
How are you doing this?
+Leo N It's the Peanuts!
All they need is some gloves and jersey to represent their nation in sports
❤️❤️❤️
gutsy....my mom's dad rescued a squirrel from a fence and got bit. ....not afraid of getting hurt by accident?
Way Better to watch you with these videos than crazed hollywood movies or documentaries full of violence, gore, horror and bullshit...
Thanks, it is good to hear the feedback!

Eri:
AMEN!
That's amazing! You actually got Blue Jays coming for peanuts! How'd you pull that off?
I've got them eating out of my hand - check out:ua-cam.com/video/tAFE1SkiGt0/v-deo.html
MyBackyardBirding Wow I watched it and the Brown Thrasher. Simply amazing.
squrrels traditionally steal bird food so I reckon the blue jay figures its payback time ;)
Blue Jays also like peanuts as well! They'll come by when they get the chance!
Got a little buddy there You got them spoiled rotten he hee play play play all day long
😘💋❤️😘💋❤️😘💋❤️😘💋❤️😘💋❤️😘💋❤️😘💋❤️😘💋❤️😘💋❤️😘💋❤️😘💋❤️😘💋❤️😘💋❤️😘💋❤️😘💋❤️😘💋❤️😘💋❤️😘💋❤️😘💋❤️😘💋❤️😘💋❤️
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I feed them here locally at the city park there's only 2 or 3 that are good "ball players" 😜
Teaching Emerson Acorn to play catch. Teaching Megan Acorn to play catch.
So lieb 💕 ;-)
Next you can teach them to play the piano.
Hilarious!!!
I put bunches of peanuts on my back doorstop. Because I feed them all so much, one was throwing itself against the back door. Oopsy
😂👍💖💋🐿️
Give those guys baseball mitts and they would make better outfielders than some of those guys that makes millions of dollars😀
No dislike that is cool dude by the way like for no reason?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Any tips on how to get squirrels to do this? The ones in my yard won't come near the food until I go inside :(
I'd come up to you if I was a squirrel, I don't know WTF is wrong with them....
Patience. Try just hanging out with them for awhile; if you have to stand far away from the food, let them be comfortable but see you. Later, only give them food when you are around. They will learn.
Cute, but poor little squirrels...JUST GIVE THEM THE PEANUTS ALREADY!!!! Don't make them jump thru hoops for thier food!
It is so much better to play with squirrels than shooting them!
Lots of head drops. Make a noise before you drop them,..that was borderline animal abuse 5 minutes in
