Welcome back guys. How we all doing? Hope you’ve had a nice week. Any questions pop them down below and if I can I’d love to help! Appreciate you watching and subscribing
That's because you are a Perfectionist! That's why your heart rate goes up. You care about quality. I love watching you play, So MUCH ENERGY. IT'S VERY CONTAGIOUS. THANK YOU MATE!
Mate I'm 57 , and after watching a BBC program Jay blades learning to read at 50, big realisation I went through my school life not knowing I was dyslexic, you are inspirational bro @eddie thrower
Ah mate been watching you for while and your one of the first drummers that inspired me to pick up sticks. Anyway just wanted to say something clicked in my brain when you played the six stroke roll on the hats! Can't wait to get behind the kit later and try it out. Will become a member on Patreon for sure and hopeful to get a lesson booked with you!
Eddy, dude, you got rid of double pedals to work on your right foot. Now your right foot is bad ass. Soooooo…it’s time to dump the 6 stroke roll crutch! Challenge yourself to play without it because…you use it ALL THE TIME. If I were your teacher I would stop you every time you do it, to break the habit of just going back to it over and over. Time yourself, see how long you can go without it. You’ll be surprised! Don’t be defined by ONE chop, you’ve got so much more music in you than one single rudiment!!! F’ing LOVE you, brother!
Appreciate the feedback mate! I’m using the 6 stroke roll here as it’s the perfect example of how good rudiments can sound within a groove. Aside from that I can’t remember the last time I used it in my live playing and my recording session work. I may throw it in here and there in some video clips you see on Instagram, but that’s just because I love it. And that’s not real life. I appreciate the love mate but I’d never rely on a rudiment in music. It’s all singles and choices in real life.
Don't know if you was going for it but that little beat you said was '1975 vibes' was similar to She's American which is fun as fuck to jam on the kit!
I know one way to learn rudiments is to sign up for a virtual drum camp with Mike and Eddy. (Eddy hands me 5 bucks when no one is looking) Seriously though, you've inspired me to start my own drum journal on YT with the stuff I'm working on in the practice project. Keep it up, man!
I just need to get some cymbals. I only have a set of drums and still can't afford any cymbals. So I'm frustrated, especially being on disability, I am just having such a hard time saving money for cymbals. I can't wait to get Cymbals so I can better practice all it awesome tips.
I turned on the mics and camera only 2 hours ago to record my first attempt at a "My First 5 Mins" and failed miserably! Nothing came naturally, over analysing, all I got was one 30 second groove, the rest goes in the bin. Inspired by these videos, will try again!
Hey Eddy, I appreciate you making these videos! I hope it’s ok to drop in a gear question here. How would describe the difference between your acrylic snare and metal or wood live? It sounds great recorded, just wondering if it’s louder/harsher etc. live. Thank you!
Thanks mate. I play better with 1 up to be honest. I’m finding it a little more comfortable too weirdly. But mate, whatever the music calls for really!

I’ve been drumming for 18 years and this approach to rudiments is one I’ve never even considered. Quality, mate. 🖤

Thank you mate!
Great advice on the steps to learn rudiments; it's much more fun than a practice pad!
Thanks mate. For sure! Worked for me way better than a pad

loving these videos. thoughts on your set up as 1 up 1 down vs 2 up 1 down?
Thanks mate. I play better with 1 up to be honest. I’m finding it a little more comfortable too weirdly. But mate, whatever the music calls for really!
