One of the funniest parts is when Justin says " It's so quiet" the JH says what? Then Justin yells "it's so quiet!" Yall are so funny together. Thanks for the entertainment.
Ya know, this was the most entertaining video you guys have made in a while! I really enjoyed this whole experience, plus JH’s commentary was the perfect amount of information, but not repetitive. That’s a hard line to find, but you guys nailed it here. You told us what you were going to do (only once), then proceeded to do it and discussing it along the way, and finished with a great summation. Please keep making videos with this format! You didn’t over-explain anything, therefore keeping my attention span. Thanks, the Justins!
Ive said this multiple times to try to prevent that from happening to anyone that owns one. Another major issue is the crank dampener Leroy Diesel or Quadstar Tuning both sell a great replacement/fix/upgrade with a fluid dampener and starter support brackets.
They are garbage motors. Only the super poor care about these boat anchors. When new, they have less HP than a new Corolla. They are fun to blow up, and that is where the fun ends. Lol.
Welcome to the JH Channel. Please buy merch for each video I drop to support my next blown up motor lol😂 Love those smoke rings I was laughing so hard. Just keep blowing them up. Been really enjoying all your videos. Good humor. Keep up the hard work.
Got to love the old 6.2 bought my first brand new one in 85 lasted long time until glow plug melted off and dropped off in cylinder replaced with brand new 6.2 from gm still have front half of truck truck broke in half after many years of snow plowing and salting have 2 cucv still plow with great trucks for that purpose
JH and Justin, y'all rock! Y'all shouldn't have changed the oil😂. It was the old oil keeping it together because of the thickness. Keep up the great content, guys. Peace
When I heard that chirp, I knew exactly what happened. I had a 84 with the 6.2. Heard the chirp at a convenience store, drove it 5 miles and it died. Later, it started and drove another 5 miles. It died again and found a hole in the oil pan.
when the rad cap was put back on and the engine stopped the pressure in the rad pushed water into the cylinders. there was a lot of liquid coming out of the glow plug holes. When it 1st started there was a lot of blowby and air exiting the Rad.I am 13:51 into the video and still think you're playing don't know what just happened. Either way love the videos.
I had two 1984’s with 6.2 diesel engines. I had to constantly do major work on them. I traded back and forth about every 6 months. Cracked pistons, blown head gaskets, and eventually one threw a rod that poked a hole in the oil pan. Bought a 12v Cummins Dodge and never looked back. Those 6.2’s are not good for much.
The EPA could have a hay day with this! Be careful homies! Looooove the footage!! Put a 12v Cummins in the bed of truck, with two massive turbskies with bull horn exhaust pipes... YEE YEET!!
These were bad about broken cranks. The outer ring on the balancer spins and then the motor gets out of balance. You could get an optimizer 6.5 and big turbo and it would move nice.
I'd love to see a Duramax in it, mainly because I have a m1008 myself and I'm going to swap a Duramax in mine when my funds allow me! Always interested in seeing what other people do.
Ive seen engines hydro-lock and bend a rod and it's just a matter of time till they spit parts. If you want it and can come to s.philly or figure out a way to ship it i have a cucv 6.2 engine I bought years ago and never used. I'll donate it to the project
As soon as the knock disappeared I knew 😂 also I would have welded the oil pan or put a new one on and ran it with the thrown rod but with oil again just to see how long it would survive
Must be a manufacturing defect, mine did the same thing except i put a new oil pan back on it after removing the bits but couldn't afford a new piston and rod, she still sounds sweet lol
change the oil they said... aint going to hurt it they said. haha some old beasts need to just be left alone ... like old tractors man got one running that sat for 30 years and just put it to work... had to blow out fuel lines and top off hydraulic fluid and the shit ran great since.
We need a JH “I’m baffled by this whole situation” shirt with a blown up 6.2 on it.
That’s gold 😂
Duramax swap for it
"She been sittin in the corner think bout how she treated us that day" 🤣🤣🤣 that's me when shit breaks
I swear this is 100% videos of me and my buddies just being buddies. Keep it 💯 guys!!!
Apparently the old 6.2L was refusing to die! Get a engine back is that truck! It deserves it! #BuiltByBo

Hell yea brother in arms. I love it when things blow up.
The cucv is possibly my favorite. Thing is a beast
Need to bring the square body back to life!! Make squares great again!!
The Adventures of Justin & Justin just keep getting better. Shout out from NZ.
A 6v72 would be kinda awesome in that thing. Plus it keeps it Detroit powered.
Cat 3226.
There’s a starter support bracket for these that’s pretty critical to keeping starter bolts from breaking or block from cracking.

@eriklarson9137 a 7.3 and a Cummins of the same year both have less hp than a Carolla also. So, elaborate what your point is🤣
That original starter gm put in there tear up and crack flywheels in mine always replace with half the size and weight high torque starter
@eriklarson9137 I disagree they are great low-end torque engines 4x4 low will push down a house have 2 cucvs for plowing

Chevy was right on with their "like a rock" motto during these years lol😂
Diesel Halos coming from the exhaust. Since that engine went to diesel heaven

How many miles on it? I have an 83 with a 6.2, still runs great with 153,000 miles.
That front diff is never going to rust ✌🏽😎
thats why i never fixed my blazers timing cover leak. rust prevention.

They're definitely not good at diagnostics
It would be cool to see the same engine put back in the truck but it would also be cool to see a more modern Duramax put in it.
We are going more modern and staying diesel…. 6.2s are just gutless
agreed
looking fwd to more videos with the camo cuck truck
@@JHDieseland4X4 nice can’t wait to see what you do
Build a 6.5 turbo. Still gutless but atleast it's something different.
@@michaelhaslett3742 I’m surprised he didn’t do that with this one
I got over 375k miles on my 6.2l , truck is basically bullet proof, course I actually take care of it.
Love THE brush guard MOVE
That’s why I I always change the oil when I get new stuff
Hell Yea brother!!!! Cummins swap or Big block like Ron Burgundy!!!! Keep it up
Right on man. Good to see someone open to either fuel engines going into this CUCV
Everybody needs a friend like Justin, the damage is already done an here comes Justin "I think you should just send 'er to the moon"! Lol
Best advertising ever, JH just restarted the engine after blowing a hole in the oil pan. Ad that popped up was for JB Weld. I laughed my ass off!
I really needed that on a Wednesday JH!!! Hell yeah brother
CUCV is cool I like the old videos you did with it
As I’m watching this video that truck has went thru hell. I’m surprised it’s lasted this long. She’s a keeper.
lol blew up a lot of things is an understatement sir!!!
"Rain drop rod knock I just windowed my engine block" -
JH
Badass, love to see a lbz in that
“If it was gold, it wouldn’t be enough to be rich…”😂😂 Classic!
Big block it. Im just finishing up my turbo big block square. They're a blast with 500-600 horses or so
There's tons of these trucks stored on an army base near where I live......they still use some of them for when they make trips into town
I have 4 trx4s and they’re an absolute blast.

Cucv needs a Big Block
Hell Brother, you have Justin to work on stuff now. Blow Everything Up. Job Security Jason.
Knock knock. Who’s there? Rod number 4!
Gota get JH over 200k subs💪
neutral drop would be proud
JH just reminded me of the time LS george cold revved rod knock rodney. Damn that was funny
Man your camera man is good he needs a raise definitely I'm serious
The EPA could have a hay day with this! Be careful homies! Looooove the footage!! Put a 12v Cummins in the bed of truck, with two massive turbskies with bull horn exhaust pipes... YEE YEET!!
more content from JH amazing consistency!!!
💯
My 6.2 blew up randomly 1 morning. Spun a main bearing and tied the motor up. Same exact thing. In went a Cummins p pump.
The CUCV needs to live on! Such a nice truck to just scrap and get rid of, new build series?!
6.2s are boat anchors and like boat anchors you can drop them anywhere and they still work
That's a sick Traxxas!
Let’s go!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 well done good sir !!!
The bogging vids with this truck was great and the sound of it
A compound turbo 5.9 Cummins would look real nice in there
These were bad about broken cranks. The outer ring on the balancer spins and then the motor gets out of balance. You could get an optimizer 6.5 and big turbo and it would move nice.
The new JH diagnosis series!!!
LS George will be so proud off your cold start revs!!! 😂😂😂
I'd love to see this truck on the channel more either a Band-Aid repair or maybe a junkyard motor maybe a 350 or another GM Diesel engine
JH you are so fucking hardcore that nothing can keep it with you. Never fret, keep the skinny pedal down and Let’s Go!
Awesome video guys!
I'd love to see a Duramax in it, mainly because I have a m1008 myself and I'm going to swap a Duramax in mine when my funds allow me! Always interested in seeing what other people do.
Just realized JH is now in my regular list of yt channels
It's my birthday today. This was a good video to watch
If fact, I'd like this to turn into a series where you test the durability of all the diesels you can get your hands on
A+ Content!
unbelievable!!! lol Awesome old rig, get a fresh engine in that thing and send it.
Uncle Rodney has left the block!
As peg would say , there's a whole Lotta "how dare you" going on here lolol
Great content thanks for sharing
A little JB Weld on that pan and you're good to go!! 😂😂😂
Right before fresh oil….jh said it can’t hurt (referring to oil change)….changes oil boommm lol. Guess it can hurt
The CUCV would be cool for a trail rig. Just gotta bob the bed and maybe some suspension.
Put a 6.6 in it with big turbo. That would be nice. That’s a nice solid truck and deserves a good motor.
Almost 200k bud 👍🏻
Lol 😂😂😂. I'm not sure what happened either. The 6.2 has left the chat. 💯
I heard that's dreaded squeak as soon as she started....I knew it was gonna give you an inspection port after a couple good revs.....
That will teach you to change the oil when you have no clue how long its been! lol
It’s important to know if the Prius still runs.
I would honestly put a 6.0 in it just to watch the comment section go crazy
This! Or the driveline from the “Wave of the Future” Prius… 😂
LB7 or LLY in that bad unit would be pretty neat.
I can smell that thing from here!
This video was hilarious! JH’s face right at 14:01 should be a meme lol
Hello from the other side🎵
I must of knocked a thousand times🎵
Ive seen engines hydro-lock and bend a rod and it's just a matter of time till they spit parts. If you want it and can come to s.philly or figure out a way to ship it i have a cucv 6.2 engine I bought years ago and never used. I'll donate it to the project
Cleetus offered to put a LS in it remember
That was great.
Every Chevy guy ever, “it’s got another 100,000 , guaranteed “ 😂
Cold revving a diesel is how you kill it
Do these still come up for auction from the military?
How dare you! (Greta (😂
That rig deserves a new heart... Js
Can see the advert now
Bring your truck to JH Diesel &4x4 and we will treat it like one of our own 😂😂😂
I think it deserves a duramax.
It didn’t want to die, but you guys definitely forced it 😆
As soon as the knock disappeared I knew 😂 also I would have welded the oil pan or put a new one on and ran it with the thrown rod but with oil again just to see how long it would survive

Is that a 2000 Dutch Star 3565 in the back with an 8.3l Cummins, super pop-out, queen size bed, sally port, and escape hatch? I have a 1999.
change the oil they said... aint going to hurt it they said. haha some old beasts need to just be left alone ... like old tractors man got one running that sat for 30 years and just put it to work... had to blow out fuel lines and top off hydraulic fluid and the shit ran great since.
I bet it was hydro locking. Betting blown head gasket
I was working as a mechanic 20 years ago and had a guy pay us to blow up a ford ranger. It was hard but fulfilling work. Looked a lot like this
An 8.1 would fit nice!
I had bought a 86 cheve scotdale 3/4 for 200. With two full tanks of fuel and a dollor in the govle box. It was unit brother
