Great advise. That works for walleyes too with similar lipless baits. A yoyo retrieve with the bladed Little George works great too. Thanks for these informative videos.
@CheezusCrust Heddon Sonar in perch, a staple bait for 'eyes where I fish. Great on smallies too when they're bustin' minnows to the surface - look for the birds.
I only bottom contact fish my jigs, Texas rigs, weightless plastics, and blade baits from the bank. I will lose any lure with big trebbles bouncing it off the bottom
Nice lure idea. I am afraid I would snag it and lose on the first or second cast if I let it get to our rocky bottoms. The rocks here just love treble hooks and they are gone.
We hear ya...wood is the most likely snag. You're usually ok if you maintain enough speed and maintain an upward rod angle to prevent hooking rocks. If your rocks are that snaggy, forgo the yo-yo technique for more of a straight horizontal retrieve. You can also select a lighter lipless and go with a heavier monofilament line to increase lift. Good luck!
Hi Adam, Mike goes in-depth on this exact topic in this video: Modifying Bass Fishing Lures with Bladed Treble Hooks: ua-cam.com/video/zKwAiB8S74U/v-deo.html
Hey, Tony! I too. Saw him break the rod. I really don't watch him anymore. But I just bought a few lipless crank baits in many colors so I wanted to see how he used them. He also usually during the bass Tournament says" Its a big one and it's a 1 pounder. I really thought that fish would be small. There was something funny about that fish he caught. It didn't look new at all. You watch the video again and tell me. Shawn
All these years fishing and I have never caught anything on a lipless crank bait or a spinner bait... Don't know why , I'm not an idiot when it comes to fishing everything else just not those two lures.
Man You can't go wrong with a lipless in the spring. Great info!
Excellent video!
Love Lipless crank year around, striking natural shad is my go too Thx.
Solid video, short and helpful. Thanks brother

You bet Joe, great call on walleye loving the lipless too. We'll add that to our 'to film' list.
@@Wired2Fish You bet!

As a bank fisherman that yo-yo technique just screams "SNAG, POP, -5.40!".

Love VMC hooks, to bad Ike didn’t mention anything about size of hooks! 😕
Can’t wait for my prespawn time to hit in late March
the Ike rods are my favorite!
Is that a #4 VMC on the front of the bait and a #6 on the back? Thanks for the great video!
I find putting even a small spinner blade on the back of a no-lip kills the '' wiggle ''.
Crazy the colors that bass had out of muddy water looked a clear water Florida bass

@@Wired2Fish Thanks for the suggestions. My lakes are desert lakes with sharp desert rocks. They snag everything.
Run a loud crankbait then....
Nice Fish Ike.
Good stuff, thanks man
Thanks for checking out the vid Chris. Good fishing to ya.
Mike when and where do you add the spinner to the back hook? Thanks awesome video

You have any luck with that hook on front and back or would it work?
I like that jacket Mike , where can i get one please and what kind is it please ?
How long does it take you to edit a video if you're saying it spring?
Is that santee cooper?
Hey man I got the same shades lol. Great vid thanks Mike 🤘
Thanks for supporting Johnny!
Can you do a video fish, clean and cook???
Anybody else move there phone around like you were getting that fish close enough to grab too?
Ever since I seen him break his rod and throw in the water....I just don’t see him the same. Does he still compete?

Shawn Beck good point. I didn’t see it that way til you said that 😂

Wierd. I always catch em on spinnerbait
Spring?! 😞😞
Is inevitably on its way. (knocks on wood) This is a good example of a technique to consider as the water starts warming up!
"This lake has no submergant grass whatsoever"
Catches fish with submerged grass on the line......
Too funny! I stuck around just too see that after reading your comment
Was just about to post that 😂
I was going to say something but you nailed it lmao!
🤣 was gonna day that!
Because this guy's. ( Ike) an idiot. Just says bullsh!t to stay relevant.
Yeah no we're in the middle of winter so I'll wait for someone else to talk about it in two months.
Certainly understand geographies don't line up for much of the bass belt. Guys are getting after it in Florida right now.
@@Wired2Fish we aint doing to bad here in Kentucky neither. I been burning em up on a lipless. As well as medium diving cranks.
