I have a P3A, and am still quite new with it, not having fully explored all its built in features, but I can see getting this app, once I'm more confident and experiences (I'm very experienced in flying UAVs and RC aircraft ... 50+ years of experience!). Great video. You mentioned that if you get into trouble (on the Phantom 4) and want to abort, you can switch to Sport mode. Could you not also just press the 'return to home" button on the controller, or will Litchi not recognize this command?
From my experience the mode switch is immediate whereas the 'return home' button takes a little while to activate. When things are going badly I want the fastest possible fix. for me on my Phantom3 the F->P switch is right by my finger and the return home button needs to be held for 2 sec and is harder to reach.

I like it's distance ability #1 even though I've tried to convince myself that's not a big deal. Would any of the features on the Typhoon H interest you enough to try it or do you think the Phantom has advantages/features that outweigh anything the Tyhoon H has to offer? I thought I had it all figured out!
Yes, the typhoon h is indeed a great drone, I'd say it's the dji killer. 6 props = more stability, plus safety in case 1 fails. 360° gimbal, heck the inspire 1 which costs double has that. The st16 controller is out of this world and retractable landing gear and better obstacle avoidance, i can go on and on. I live in India and i can't get the typhoon h, trust me I'm crying.
I like the fact you can go a couple miles with a phantom with no delay in the video feed. The H seems to only go about 1000 or so feet before breaking up. The controller does look pretty sweet. I'm eyeballing the new X star premium lately. It seems to do almost everything the phantom 4 does for the cost of the 3. Minus obstacle avoidance.
Stupid question #1 If you send it on a mission, do you still have to be within it's radio communication? Does it download the data to the Phantom? Just shoot me if I asked a dumb question.

MrTsmoove99 yes. Just do not have both open at same time. I launch dji go app first to make sure every thing checks out and is good to fly in that app. Then I close that app (completely exit it so not running in back ground) and then open litchi. I switch back and forth back to back, just don't have them both open :)

Just one perhaps silly question though :) As described by yourself what will happen if on that route for example a tree is taller than the height you have set up for a particular point? How will the drone react to that while it is flying the defined route? Will it crash or stop...? Thanks
What happens if my drone during a programmed mission loses connection with remote controler? He will automatically turn on procedure RTH or he will continue its mission?
edek101 it will continue the mission and end with its end command, which is -hover, land, or reverse mission, etc. so make sure to set it to something you want. I usually have it hover at its end point to bring it down manually. Once it regains signal you'll be able to see everything again..
do you know if this app will work with the dji mavic pro and can you set waypoints out of line of sight and the quad will still continue to fly that flightpath even if signal is lost? Thank you

You mean have the P4 off and just make the route on the app? If so, yes. You don't need the p4 or the transmitter to make the routes. You can save them and load them whenever.

why dont you just fly yourself while having full control over everything, instead of programming all the steps of the flight to have some application fly it? that's the beauty of flying, when you actually fly the drone yourself ..:-)..plus, having it programmed like this is the perfect recipe for some accident/crash.
Government tried to implement metric system here several years ago and a lot of folks basically refused to learn it. Personally I like metric due to everything being in units of ten with no weird fractions, but it is hard to change people after hundreds of years I guess. I also am able to calculate distances better in feet because that is what has been ingrained into my brain for about 60 years. :)
Nik Andrews I never used via android but I still use Litchi all them time even with Phantom 4 Pro. 100% successful missions. I use with my iphone and iPad Air 2.

Nik Andrews possibly. For what I use it for is mostly waypoints, and anytime I need a smooth shot I almost always use Litchi to get it. As long as reviewers aren’t complaining about fly-offs I think you’ll be fine. It is fairly simple to use but one small mistake could also cost you a Phantom.
This app constantly crashes on me every time, I can literally get my bird in the air and my iPhone 6s Plus will crash to the home screen, super scary..i've tried rebooting my phone and uninstalling and reinstalling the app and still nothing seems to stop the crashing
That is super scary. I haven't experienced a crash once and am using the iPad Air 2. Good to know if you have a iPhone 6 Plus! Haven't personally tried with my iPhone 6, I probably won't now- thanks for the heads up
I've had some luck minimizing horizon tilt by calibrating the compass as well as IMU. You can also adjust gimbal roll in small increments in the camera setting in Litchi (as well as DJI Go). This will work for wherever the camera is currently pointed but I don't think it will fix the horizon from other bearings.

Litchi install on ipad mini 2 CHIP A5, as i have phanton 4 and it only accept ipad mini 2 with CHIP A7 to use DJI GO 4.

can you use the litchi app to go a specific GPS coordinate by inputting specific coordinates vs dragging waypoints on the screen ?

Litchi is for Android. Buy a good tablet instead of that other crap. LOL

i know there is a few ways. you can have it lock, do it manually, or go auto to focus on the POI
