    Sunshine is SUCH a GOOD BOOK. Not a traditional vampire story. Loved it.

      I'm glad you're liking it! I know I have a lot of nostalgia in that series, but I really think it stands up. And the books just get better IMO.

      @ I never read it back when it came out. so it’s interesting to read something that was very hyped back when I was in school and it not feel dated.

    SUNSHINE!!! Ok ok, this is not a drill! Sunshine is actually one of my favourite books and this is the first time that anyone even mentions it! That's so exciting for me!
    The setting is so cool, it's such a nice mix of creatures in a urban fantasy world. The protagonist is quite reletable and the story is intriguing. P.s. the protagonist is a baker so prepare to get hungry while you reed haha

      I love this! I had never heard of it before my sister sent it to me, but I'm now even more excited to read it. And I love when books make me crave things like baked goods or coffee lol like Legends and Lattes.

    Love that you used to read Eragon to your husband. My husband and I read aloud, and it definitely slows down the process, but I love it. I love all the rereads! I hope your reads go well.

    • @stephaniesbookverse1098
      @stephaniesbookverse1098  4 дні тому

      Yeah, it's definitely slower, but I don't mind much since I've already read the Eragon series. It might be harder to not just read ahead on my own if it's a book I hadn't read and was really invested in.

    OMG, Sunshine!! I have never heard of another person that's read that book. I read it years ago and really loved it. Can't wait to see what you think. If I remember correctly it doesn't have any chapters.

    • @stephaniesbookverse1098
      @stephaniesbookverse1098  4 дні тому

      Oh interesting! I just went and looked and you're right, there aren't chapters but it's broken into 3 parts (if there's a fourth I missed it). I'm interested if that was a stylistic choice for a reason because of how the story is told.

    I feel like if you hit the end spot exactly (e.g. rolling a 7 when it is 7 spots away) you should get some sort of bonus. Like you should get to skip the spinner or have the final book be a mood read or something

    Sunshine is a great novel. Wish she'd continued on with the main character but she was adamant that it was a stand alone. I'm doing Polarthon, which is a month long this year, and has a bingo board to fill in, so I'm choosing books as I go along to fill in the board. I have quite a stack of options I've collected for this readathon, many with favorite tropes or settings.

    • @stephaniesbookverse1098
      @stephaniesbookverse1098  4 дні тому

      I did that readathon a few years back, it was fun but I struggled fining books to fit lol. I love the polar fantasy setting, though. It's one of my favorite atmospheres if done right.

    Great stack, the game was not mean but it ended up stacking up 😅 I am also in a rereading year, rereading the Cosmere (with you) and Michael J Sullivan’s world of Elan. I am having so much fun with both. I will be skipping Daughter of the Forest though, I really wanted to love it because I heard such good things but I really disliked it. I tried to push through hoping it would get better, but I dnfed at almost 50% because I couldn’t stand it anymore. It’s just not for me, but I am curious to see what everyone thinks about it.
