Great video once again! Thank you. It would have been great if you had covered how to get attachments from Form to List Item. And also different complex column types. It would have taken the vide to next level. Can you make one including different column types?
Hey Hi, Thanks a Ton! I was using Forms to collect data for my organization and user complaining about data check after form submission, after looking at your video, and your step by step process, i was able to fix that issue. I cannot thank you enough for this. :)
Thank you! I need to do some more Power Automate videos. I'm adding that to my list once conference season is over and I can get some videos recorded again
April this is a great video as are all of your videos. Quick Question when wanting to pull in Quiz Results, how can we pull in the Final Score into the list?
Thank you so much for this great video. Question: what if my MS form has choices? When creating the list, do I add the choices or leave that blank? Thank you!
Really helpful video, thank you! I've got a question. If I use the spreadsheet created by the Form, if I was to create more columns alongside it and input data, can I create a flow to send that data to the list also?
@@AprilDunnam Might I also ask if there are videos within Power Automation to send interactive notifications to someone else (& not self) - if you have a video I will be grateful if a link can be shared, please.
Yes this was my exact question. I don’t mind using personal forms but the issue is when I’m posting attachments like photos collected in the form the the MS list… the photos are stored in my personal one drive vs the SharePoint directory
Ok, at around 11:30 I had this great AHA moment what I was looking for the whole day while watching many tutorial videos but could not find the answer... Amazing! Creative = smart !
Thank you for this tutorial! I am now trying to figure out how to get responses in multiple sheets-depending on what info is entered on my form. I can't find a tutorial on how to do that.
A video on different column types would have been great because my form has dropdowns and radio buttons and none of those fields populated on the list.
Great video. RE importing existing Excel data, copy/paste in Grid view would be easier and a lot quicker than using a workflow. Not sure if there are any clipboard limits but I just tested 100 rows with 5 columns and it worked just fine. Hope this helps.
Can’t thank you enough for this video! Question, now that I have it stored into Lists, I want to view the information in a graphical way. How would I do this ? Power BI? And how would I create a flow that adds additional information after it has been submitted? I know I ask a lot but you have a clear and easy to understand tutorial and would love to see this in action . Thanks again!!!!
You're very welcome! As far as viewing the data, PowerBI is probably the easiest approach. You could also leverage SharePoint list formatting to show custom visuals in the list itself as shown here: github.com/pnp/sp-dev-list-formatting/tree/master/view-samples/column-graph-format As far as getting additional info there after it's submitted, there's a second flow you would want to create for that. There's actually a template for it that you can search for to setup. I think it's something like "Forms data to SharePoint". That will create an item in the SharePoint list every time a new entry is added in the Forms. I'll see about creating a video on the scenario at some point too.
Another great video, thank you April. I've got a Forms shared in a Teams and can't find it in Power Automate, only Forms that is mine. Am I missing something or isn't it possible?
Hey Ola - Great question and probably something I should have mentioned in the video come to think of it... By default only forms you've created show in the dropdown in Power Automate BUT you can reference Teams forms by clicking on the "Enter manual value" dropdown option and copying and pasting in the Form ID in. You can get the form ID by opening the form and copying what's after the "ID" parameter
Thank you so much for the video @April! Question, my company does not have permissions to use PowerAutomate just yet, how can I create the flow manually without using one of the "record responses in sharepoint" template.
This is a wonderful video! But, I am having trouble getting my existing reports into Lists. When I run the test, I get an error message that the input parameters of my Create Item action. it is saying it needs "to be of type 'String/uri'." Do you have any idea what my issue might be? I followed your steps exactly!
Excellent presentation. I followed the instruction, but my data from the form not populated in the list. with Instant flow as well; though the run was a success.
Hello April, Your knowledge and sessions are really very effective. I would like to take your support on one of my Queries. Could you please let me know, how to set autofill option in MS Forms while taking details of an employee? Like, Just enter the UIN Number and rest his information gets autofilled, like, Name, Email Address etc.. Looking forward your help on it. Thanks
Excellent video! Now, how can we build in the automation to take this list data, and generate a printable .pdf document for for archiving purposes? I have seen other examples, but none that have really knocked my socks off yet. :)
So to do that you pretty much have to use the OneDrive connector in Power Automate. You can add an Apply to each and add the data into a table in Power Automate as HTML. Then use the OneDrive connector to create an HTML file from that table data then convert that to a PDF with the OneDrive connector as well.
Great guide. Do you know if it is possible to share who has filled in the forms, in the list? At work Microsoft registers who we are from our MS-profile, so it would be great if we didn't have to write our name or initials as part of the forms' questions. We share who is attending certain events, and there it would be nice to directly share who has responded to the forms in a list. Does the question make sense?
Thank you for your tutorials. They help a lot! I'm stuck trying to get two different forms to complete a record in in a SharePoint list. I know I may not be the only one with this type of problem. Can you help us?
What a good video, I have a concern for a problem that I have, I need that when a user has already filled out the form the message that appears is "Your response has already been sent, This form only admits one response per person." My question is if this information can be customized so that a link to another page appears
You are a great presenter and easy to learn from! Can you tell me how I can fix the following error? "This may indicate invalid input parameters. Error response: The form ID in request URL is invalid.'. I was able to use the connector at first but then had to delete the Teams channel and List button from the SharePoint Site. Did I ruin the flow by doing that? I keep trying to recreate the form and list but Power Automate can't find the Form ID.
Hi, great video. Is it also possible to fill the form with multiple people based on certain entries within the form? So as example the form should go through a whole department consisting of 6 groups and each group needs to fill in information in the form and then the form is send to the next group until all 6 groups have entered their information. It could also be that based on certain form entries that only lets say 4 out of the 6 groups need to enter information, so there should be also different branches to steer the form through the needed groups. Thanks in advance!

Great tutorial, but I need to know the quiz score in addition to the start time to calculate the duration of the assessment. Is there any way to get this data?
Thank you for this great tutorial. Is there a way to create a form to be used by all members of my team so they can send the form to our clients and collect the responses in the same microsoft lists? or each team member will have to have to setup this flow separately?
This is a helpful video for us. Is it possible to get all the data from Microsoft forms like google drive? One more question some times SharePoint list is not updating from Microsoft forms. Is it possible to debug without power Auto access?
Ms. Dunham, with all the various platforms to store data, I need to collect standard data from employees i.e. Last Name, First Name, Car Type, License Plate, Make, Model etc. This list is updated annually. Would you recommend as the data input using MS Forms and storing into a MS List or MS Forms into MS Access?
Hello April, Thank so much for this video. I created my a Group MS Form, which responses are loaded on SharePoint Lib and my SharePoint list was also created. But some responses on my form are not showing up in the dynamic contents for me to match the responses to the list columns. Please How do I resolve this? Thank you.
I updated my sharepoint lists BEFORe attempting to make the connection between forms and sharepoint list. But in the flow form (when I match the fields of sharepoint and the form) it always has the PRE-modified sharepoint list. I have no idea why or how to make it update and sync. I finally learned so much from your video but can't move forward to try it!
This video was very helpful! I'm trying to add a another column to calculate the number of times a word (ex: yes) appears within a row. (Important not column but row). In Excel I would use the countif. How can I do this in sharepoint lists?
Thank you for the Video, may i know how can i create multiple records with separate date on every row in list when Microsoft form response has Start date and end date.
This is just what I needed, however, it doesn't seem to be able to match up the form option when someone submits a file, like a photo or logo, or word document. Any ideas?
Hi April, You video is really helpful, thank you very much for sharing it. I went through the whole thing step by step. I have a couple of responses from my Form and I wanted to move them to my List, but at the very end my test failed. These are the error details I've got: "The 'inputs.parameters' of workflow operation 'Create_item' of type 'OpenApiConnection' is not valid. Error details: Input parameter 'item/Reportingdeadline_x003a_' is required to be of type 'String/date'. The runtime value '"44804"' to be converted doesn't have the expected format 'String/date'." At the very last step I added my SP List URL to the site address (it was a custom value, not from the drop down, because I didn't find a suitable option there) and in only that case I could choose the particular list from the drop down. Was that the problem? Do you have an idea how can I fix it? Thank you very much for your response in advance.
22 Questions : 1 - do you need to do some kind of conversion to move a from a form (DATE) into a field in a SharePoint List (TEXT) ? For attachments s that have been attached in the Form , how do you deal with that in the Power App ?
Hey - yes Microsoft Lists have built-in functionality that enables you to export to Excel. You should see in the toolbar an option called "Export to CSV" to do that
Great question - there are several. When we move to Lists we get lots of workflow capabilities built in to automate the data if need be with Power Automate. We also get the ability to easily collaborate, share and embed that data in a ton of places (Teams, SharePoint, Lists app, etc). And it's easy to report off of with creating views.
Another way to process existing form responses is to grab them directly from the Common Data Service using the List Records action. Use Entity Name of Customer Voice survey responses with the following filter query: msfp_sourcesurveyidentifier eq '' The results can be used in an apply to each control to get the form response details.
Hi April, Great video! I have an issue with MS forms and dates that are not required. Trying to automate to my Sharepoint list and receive an error because the date field is blank. I'm a beginner, any specific instructions how to get around it?
Hi Lee Ann - When you're using the "Create Item" action for SharePoint in Power Apps it does force it to where you have to fill in any required fields in your list. The only way around this is to go to your SharePoint lists and make those fields not required or to put in a placeholder value in those required fields. You can see how to set/unset required fields in SharePoint with this article : lydonsolutions.com/2017/04/21/configure-required-fields-sharepoint/
Yes no and crop down/check lists do not seem to map at all. Also what about extra field that are part of the Form's Excel file that are extraneous? Great video BTW

Dear April, is there a way to create a Microsoft Forms using a dropdown with information from a SQL Server for example taking information from an employees table in order to get the EmployeeNumber and EmployeeName, or what do you suggest to use this, my project is to make a Quiz but i need to get information from a database on SQLServer to show some catalogs.
Hi April, how do I do this for multiple choices, some with 'multiple selection allowed' and some don't. With multiple selection allowed, responder also could also enter free text.
Please make a video on file attachment/ candidate job application form
I'll see about adding that to my list.
Don't know if you're still looking for a solution on this but if so, give this a go. It worked perfectly for me. ua-cam.com/video/UKuzX8zlnuE/v-deo.html
