This is Jimmy’s masterpiece effort. It’s his pet sounds, his sergeant peppers. And like with those efforts, so much creativity and experimentation went into the sessions. I’m just glad that Hendrix always had the red light on. I can only imagine how he would remix it And/or tastefully add the overdub he had in his head, but didn’t have time to put tape. Am I biased as a guitarist who has a son with the name, Hendrix? Perhaps I am… But either way amazing review honest and solid. At the end of the day , there are just so many what if regarding my hero that I am left with every time I spend any version of this
@teddyhoneybutter We'll said Teddy. His gift to us, to the Planet, was a shooting Star that became a SUPERNOVA. Appreciate you watching and contributing to the discussion...keep RockN
“Venus And Viagra” a little known Hendrix outtake. Jimi was always ahead of his time ;) Very reasonabally priced set. Sounds like a fun one! Thanks for the review Tony, much appreciated🎸👍🏻
There’s news about a new batch of Hendrix tapes and memorabilia that has recently surfaced. It was found in Mike Jeffries apartment! Some of the tapes are around the Axis Bold As Love album period. It’s being sold at a special auction in London next month!
I'm not even sure what 5.1 means. A nice, balanced clear (separation in stereo) detailed mastering works for me. I'm just offering this for clarity. Pressing is by QRP. Remastering was done by Bernie Graunman. (Spelling). I am looking forward to listening. Yes, interesting facts about rivers and creeks that once flowed openly through Manhattan. Bought the lp box set. Was wondering what the CD box set is like. Hope the records sound good. Bernie has a great reputation, and QRP does great pressing. The film played in theaters for a time this summer, which was interesting to see in that venue. I've been a Hendrix fan since I was 16. Sadly, he was already deceased for 5 years by that time. Once I'd seen the original documentary of his life, I went out and got every lp I could get. My dream is to see the Electric Lady studio. C'mon Janie! Hook me up! Lastly. Not in this collection - But check out Hendrix's cover of The Bands "Tears of Rage." Peace and love.
Terrific review! I've been waiting for your take on this as I'm a big Hendrix fan and have most of everything he and his estate have issued but I wasn't sure about this set. After watching your impressions I went ahead and ordered it. Thanks for this.
Hello again. Interesting video. Hope I can afford this box or Neil Youngs latest archive. In my time you could play a record backwards. Ive heard sgt pepper and Are you experience album. Maybe its impossible nowadays..... Your Swedish follower.....
@hasseelmerson Thank you for supporting the channel. I wouldn't recommend playing records backwards yourself. I'm sure if you searched youtube someone has done it and posted. Probably has a million views...keep rockN

What blew me away was listening to Jimi speak in between songs. Such good sound. Great album for a Fan. Love it.
@hendrixpd1 i agree. He sounds so cool. Wish there was more of his chatter...thanks for contributing to the discussion..keep rockN
I love the studio bantering, too.
Some previous records like "loose ends" have some funny chatter. "Where's the goddamn grass"!
Spectacular review sir. I watched your unboxing and now this. You articulate so much good stuff. Thanks Tony - new sub for sure. 👍 Greg
@3dimensionsofmusic3D Greg, greatly appreciate that. I try. Keep Playing that R & R and stay well.
Great review Tony. I've listened to about 2/3 of this release and it's very cool indeed...

There is a CD floating around out there called the "Axis Bold as Love" out takes, but hey, I am interested.
I heard about that. Let’s hope someone buys it with the intent to share with the world.
