Too often, when a child is in this situation the child thinks this is ‘normal’. They don’t know to ask for help. If you see something, say something. Help needs to start by somebody else seeing something.
As a paramedic, I have seen incidents like this first hand. Plus I am a survivor of child abuse. I say this not in a boastful manner. We see things like this, but, it seems like society deems it acceptable because society is afraid of the repercussions that follow if the parents are reported and the sad fact is there aren't a lot of homes to go around and our foster care system in this country is so messed up right now it's unbelievable. It's up to us as a society to change the system. It's also up to us to say abuse is never acceptable and we need to hold abusers accountable.
God knew what was going to happen, and while He didn't stop it from happening, He sent the Boy Angel to do what another Child Angel did for him, which was to help her through those last few days as she transitioned into heaven. Some heart tugging moments when he looked upward from the window in the dark room, when he didn't blink when the police were at her house, and when he bit his lip at her gravesite. His clothes were a little old fashioned, so when he was killed was probably a while ago.
I had a step dad he abused me and touched me inappropriately and I told my mom and my mom called dhs and they said he needed to leave and he did and he died of a heart attack and I don’t have to worry about him anymore
I mean no disrespect but this has been going on since forever, many of my brothers friends went through beatings from dads and verbal abuse from their moms, my brothers and I were beat with my dads belt sometimes twice a week. I see these men watching this video and seeing the abuse this little girl went through with tears in their eyes or actually crying I’m so glad that their not afraid to show their emotions. Men are people too and I think they shouldn’t be embarrassed by crying for a little girl in the video, and by the way, this actually happened, Martina’s sister beat her 7 year old daughter to death, and the headstone in the video belongs to Martina’s niece.
McBride's niece was a victim of child abuse, so this song is a dedication to her. Her niece was abused by her mother, McBride's sister, after she divorced her husband. McBride's sister abused her daughter continuously until one day when McBride's precious niece was killed.

That's true....those around the child should show love so the child can open up to them

My thoughts exactly. People keep saying that was her Guardian Angel but, it’s not, it is another child that died the exact same way.
This song was for Martina's neice it is a true stoty
I like Martina McBride and the song even though it is really sad .how can any mother abuse her child she needs to r arrested and put in prison

Thanks for your comments, support and contribution... I hope everyone out there going through this will be able to seek for help
It brings tears to my eyes watching the video. I was smacked lots growing up & feel it's normal. I don't smack my kids though
It is NOT about Martina's niece. That is a myth.
She did not write this song and has stated it is not about her family.

This was done by Marrina because she lost a niece to child abuse
That is a myth.
It is not about her family.
