Just a thought, and correct me if I'm wrong, but if I recall, Spiritomb can breed. It's part of the Amorphus egg group. If you absolutely need a shiny Spiritomb from Scarlet/Violet, breeding might be better than trying to full-odds it using fixed encounters. And, Austin just did a fantastic video about Masuda breeding yesterday!

Spiritomb knows both Curse and Memento and can be an easy fail if you forget to save, so I personally wouldn't take the risk. May try this out in the future, though!
I was waiting for Austin to say that lol. Playing through Arceus might take less than 56 hours, but he’s also estimated Masuda breeding to take like 5 hours. Masuda breeding Spiritomb is definitely the fastest way.

Yeah, Masuda Method was not mentioned. I think he was warning us not to try to catch a Shiny Spiritomb because the only place in this game is that fixed encounter and it's unaffected by Sparkling Power, so it's the hardest shiny to hunt in this game. But most people are just Masudaing because it's so much easier to make 1000 eggs and with his video about Masudaing, you can just reset the eggs easily. (You couldn't reset eggs easily in earlier games because you had to talk to the Daycare Center a lot.)

The odds of getting Spiritomb in 4096 tries is actually a lot worse than he mentions in the video too. (4095/4096)^4096 = ~.37 which means there's about a 37% chance you DON'T find a shiny in 4096 encounters. That makes it a ~63% chance that you find it shiny.

(look up binomial probability calculator)
Also please don't take this comment as bad criticism. You are always so helpful to the pokemon community and i really appreciate your content.
Caught me some shinies already using your video! Thank you :)
I watched this on Blaines channel yesterday, but came to show my support anyways ❤️
Edit ** Thanks for touching on the shiny odds and how long it would actually take for 1:1 odds. You just saved me a loooot of time.
Austin John pls if you answer this, you'll be amazing (you already are). anyways in ur last masuda method video, I had a question. Is it worth to breed own tempo rockruff, or is there an easier way to get the dusk form shiny in the wild. I ask bc u said probably only egg hunt the starters.
I actually bumped into a full odds shiny Spiritomb on my first try. My luck meter was empty for a while after that.
Letterly 15 minutes after watching yr video I was looking for some raids, I found a random Terastallize Shiny Tsareena [Psychic], don't have a Twitter so I post it here 😁
Gotta click like on every upload. Quality info vids like this is what should be appearing on every Pokemon fan and player's YT feed.
in the middle of my irst playthrough i found AND caught (wasn't easy it being lvl 75) shiny water tera Lucario in dalizapa passage
generally i found it special already, but hearing your explanation and math, wow
I love the “but I know where it is” followed immediately by “oh shid where is it”
Austin: "don't shiny hunt this pokemon"
Me: "you're not my dad!"
Austin: "do not attempt this hunt"
Me: "challenge accepted"
Now i just need to find an excuse to leave work early buwahahaha
Thank you Austin for all of your videos :) I only recently subed to your YT but I appreciate it all of your content.
Austin said don’t do it…BUT IM GONNA!!
“cubchoo is hanging out” lol that was cute
Soft reset hunts aren't that bad, plus you could get it under odds and if you have multiple switches even better. Nice vid, I'll probably hunt this in the future
OMG thank you! I got a fixed encounter shiny! It was the Mudsdale running with the 2 Mudbray outside of Alfornada! I wish I recorded that!!
And thanks for this info, I bred a shiny Spiritomb in Sword, I'll either breed it again or import my existing one when I can, lol!
Been doing the spiritomb hunt for 3 days now, but I still clicked on the video just because I like your videos👊
I was so hoping for a surprise shiny while you were recording this haha
Thank you Professor Basswood, I will now spend the next 6 hours shiny hunting again (Nacli reaaaally did not want to spawn in my outbreak).
You’re very streamlined. And have excellent content. Proud of you, Austin 👏🏽
Austin, pokefans have hunted scizor using japanese ereader cards in Pokémon Colosseum. They are gonna do this hunt.
Although this is heartbreaking news (I really wanted shiny Spiritomb), thank you very much for telling me this before continuing this shiny hunt 👍
"Do not hunt this pokemon because.........Cubchoo is hangin' out" nuff said lol
A gen 9 full odds hunt that can be counted conveniently? Yes please 🤩
Also Spiritomb can be shiny hunted via Masuda method. Yeah, they can breed.
Austin, do you think you could do some sort of Pokédex guide, since I am completely lost on where to get each Pokémon.
I was still happy I caught my full odds Spiritomb the other day, first thing I did was let Austin know
The odds of getting Spiritomb in 4096 tries is actually a lot worse than he mentions in the video too.
(4095/4096)^4096 = ~.37 which means there's about a 37% chance you DON'T find a shiny in 4096 encounters. That makes it a ~63% chance that you find it shiny.
