@RajbirSingh-ul1mw the money has to come from somewhere, perhaps $35 million annual BONUSES to CEO's and upper level Executives should be reduced, rather than raking working people over the coals, people are getting tired of it, and history will repeat itself if something isn't done to adjust the inequality
The only thing conclusive is that the drivers pay more, the commuters will pay more with MTA fare hikes and crowded trains and buses, consumers will pay more when these small businesses lose customers and raise prices. When do the benefits kick in? Sounds like all New Yorkers are paying more and the MTA and the city are gaining more to pay the ridiculous overtime to justify this travesty. Thanks NYC!
I want to thank Congestion Kathy for making my life THAT much more difficult and unaffordable. I am a caregiver for my mother with Alzheimer’s. I am a lifelong resident of Manhattan. I now make under $40K a year. I struggle to put food on the table every day and pay my bills and LEGITIMATE TAXES already. I guess it’s not only the republicans who punch down...
With all the unnecessary changes the city made on the roads such as reducing double lane traffic streets into single lanes, citibike parking areas, wide-ass bike lanes, stupid concrete islands for pedestrians in middle of the streets, white pins in middle of streets to guide turns which trucks always run them over anyway, red bus lanes which bus goes on for couple blocks before it blends into regular traffic lanes, zebra stripes areas for absolutely nothing, corner cutouts on every street corner. If you add all this up, this shit costs the city millions, I mean BILLION$ for all this stupid unnecessary traffic infrastructure. Think of it, all this money wastefully spent could‘ve been used to improve the MTA shit that they had in mind!! Go figure folks 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
@@hipking23 totally! Honestly, it’s all unnecessary & most of it are useless. They trying to make everything pedestrian friendly but, in reality, it’s more pedestrian deadly in lot of cases. Seriously, all that money spend could’ve been allocated to help the city with the MTA shit! Amen !
Drivers pay through the nose with gas taxes, tolls, license fees, and never see any roadway improvements. NY's traffic signals are obsolete and look like they are from the 1960's. The pavement conditions are terrible. The bridges are ancient. The BQE is going to pieces, yet is the lifeblood of the economy. Everything you buy at your local grocery store gets there by highways.
This is just an excuse to jack up prices. A delivery truck pays once a day to make 20/30 deliveries. That means each business can raise prices 50%. Right!
1:35 they won’t be bothering anyone who is a police officer, or a friend of a police officer. You can report those parked cars until the cows come home and nothing will ever be done to them.
How about you just absorb it as a cost of business?? Why do the customers always have to subsidize your budget everytime something goes wrong? Thats what your margins are for. Either get involved in politics or stfu, but dont charge US more. We're your livelihood. If you dont have us, you have NOTHING
Drivers shouldn't be forced to subsidize MTA passengers.
especially NJ commuters
I think of this as a fee to pollute
Cars shouldn't be subsidized either with free to use highways and roads.
@@enarush1 only in Manhattan, they can pollute anywhere else in NY state
Yes they should. With the threat of license suspension if they don't.
Walk, bike or take the train you lazy slob.
Instead of taxing corporations and billionaires who own them, corrupt NYC charges working people! Thanks so much!

It stops those single occupied cars that take up valuable space in the CZ and causing traffic.
@@Cain-x Ohhh that sounds like the majority of the problems are solved then?!?!
Lay off the car exhaust, buddy... it's frying your brain.
Lets turn 5 car lanes into 2 lanes then tax cars because the 2 lanes are congested.
Brilliant
Per day a shipping is 9 to 20 bucks all day for many deliveries!??? Seriously! Ridiculous!

Vote Hochul and Adams out of office. Audit the MTA.
I’m wondering how nightlife might be affected due to congestion pricing
Better.

I totally agree with you. The city made traffic even worse by making the streets smaller
@@hipking23it’s the only way to justify calling it congestion. Let’s create a parking lot so we can charge folks.

To the customers pushing for the tolls but now have to pay more for good and services because of it:Congrats!

$9 is cheap. Virginia commuters pay $42 to get into DC.
You coming from a state to the capital we paying a toll for a city we live in
Another reason not to shop in expensive NYC.
Another reason not to live there either 😂😂
In New York State has the worst toll system in the country.
*City. I am sure everyone north of Rockland County is doing very well cause those tolls up there are no where near as bad as City Tolls.

1:26 The license plate is obstructed but there is a giant advertisement - Baldor Specialty Foods Inc - so I wonder who the truck belongs to........
im pretty sure they snapped that photo as the truck was lowering or stowing the lifegate, media making it more then what it is.
And water is wet. Who didn't expect this?
Brooklyn downtown is congested, we need a congestion toll in that area.
Free shipping a no no with that congestion fees
Why we have to pay that bs?
Legal theft
Bought a Porsche - cant afford a toll.
The. Train had an issue today

They want to legally rob us off every dollar they can. To make u suffer, and be more dependent on them. It’s a socialist tactic
Thank elected Democrats 😂
What about a car getting towed?
What did you think would happen? Stevie Wonder could see this coming!
Epoxy paint is impossible to remove. A slingshot could easily throw paint onto the congestion cameras.
Definitely should have gatekeep this information BUT you a hero.
Looks like mayor is running out of money helping a lot of shelters now they have to get more money somehow!!
It was 27 degrees yesterday study in the summer when it's 85 degrees
