Wow!!!🎉 Thanks for including me in your video. You are - as always - spot on in your analysis. However, I will probably keep playing the robato in the predictable manner because that is what my heart feels like playing :) but I appreciate the comments. Thank you so much for taking the time. ❤
Hey Dag, that's no problem! You play great and that's exactly what music is about - playing something in a way that you find meaningful, so keep doing what you are doing! 😊
@@matticawoodThanks! I also got to watch that member video so you can revoke it now 👍 And if you need more content for your videos in the future I’m happy to volunteer all my videos😅
Okay, so the funniest thing just happened So, day before yesterday I had a piano audition that took me 6 months to prepare for. it was really important to me, as it was to get into my high school's instrumental performance magnet, which is considered one of the best high school music programs in the entire state. I played clair de lune, it's a little easier than I usually learn, but I wanted something I'd be sure to get perfect and make no mistakes on. I was WAY overprepared. So yesterday, I was looking for a new piece and in my youtube prelude in C# minor got recommended, so I decided to give it a shot. I was taking a short break from practicing it and clicked on this video, just to get immedately jumpscared by what I was just playing.
hey Matthew, I'd love to send my playing, I can play all chopin etudes, liszt etudes, chopin ballades and rachmaninoff etudes, where can I submit like these guys have done
Around 3:30 worth mentining that the middle notes can be practiced staccato, that's what I did and it really helps, never play the melody staccato tho, those stay leggato, including the left hand
@ I’m still very happy with it because of how good the touch is and the pedal has a “full range” as well, not just on/off like cheaper models. I don’t know what’s new on the marked, but I know it’s still being sold in my local piano shop. I think it’s a lot value for the money in its price range.
Hey Matthew 😊 I’ve recorded my performances on the piano, and all videos are on my channel, I’ve been playing for 4 years, typical amateur 😁 Last years I play rarely, however I can play something, hopefully you’ll react to it as well. 😊
Oh boy, that last guy playing Yann Tiersen was playing this piece so annoyingly, that it wanted to punch him. A rare thing that happened first time listening someone playing piano.
Haha oh my, sorry for that 😂 Yeah I guess it might be a love/hate type of style. I appreciate knowing that not everyone likes that style, so maybe I’ll be careful with it. I have some more videos with less robato on my channel if you want to give it a try. Or not.
@@djsquaredmusic86 Bruh, no hard feelings but... jeez give it a break man xD I also love sad melancholic pieces, and I was just been trough this whole piece as one of the first pieces i learned after I got piano, and You totally butchered it in my head with all this pain and suffering xD Im sure You're great guy, and You can obviously play it like You want it, but I can't stand this style, sorry, at least Im sincere :)
I also don’t like it too much when a song I love is butchered by weird interpretations, so I can understand your feeling here. Maybe there are other pieces on my channel you would like better? Or worse 😂 anyway, thanks.

Great video. What kind of digital piano do you use?
Me: barely learned a handful of notes off middle C position
Also me: *furious note taking for songs I’ll be learning at best a decade from now*
You'll easily progress, don't worry😅
Pretty good!
can you do a video on arpeggio playing technique?
Whats the model of the piano from last vídeo? The Casio piano
Hi! It’s my piano, and it’s a Casio Celviano AP-470. However the sound in the video is with Pinaoteq plugin.
@ thanks! Do you know if that model is still a great choice for 2025?

26:31 i dont like this performance... it sounds not ready, i dont have that "chill" feeling what i expect from this peace.
there was too much rubato.. rubato is good, but too much is bad ^^
