Some of these 1920s trams like in here Brno are still use, but only use as atraction. And those newer one... well someone made it in Prague a podcast studio and driving pub. :D (But idk in here, he got so many mods, that its possibility he will someday delete them)
The tram driver is cutting curves on crossroads like mad man! Hope no comrade was injured on this ride. I would recommend inspection from Altengrad transport bureau haha
Wonderful sound design on this one. Love the bell going off when kids are playing near the edge of the platform at stops or when someone does a crazy turn in front of a tram!
Great video! For more realistic tram rides I set the turning rate in Advanced Vehicle Options to 0.02. The trams then go about 15 kph when making a 90 degrees turn. Another tip is that I make a node around 3-4 tiles before an intersection with track switches and on that short segment I set the speed for tram lanes to 20 kph. The trams than go slow over the switches even when going straight, which is how it works in real life.
Proper tram switches can be built with higher speeds than that. Often the straight direction will allow the street's speed limit and only turning will be slower
loved seeing Altengrad from this perspective! It really feels Central European, with the blend of fancy late XIX century building intermingled with socialst/modernist ones. Very walkable, still. I'd love to own a flat in those blocks in the new center, reminded me of the center of Warsaw, with the palace of culture and science, the high rise hotels, the postwar blocks on Swietokrzyska street. Tremendous job, as usual Just one thing, I know you included a map at the beginning, but I'd love to see the tram stop names on the way, to identify those specific buildings we stop by
it's crazy how detailed ever little bit in this city is, despite it's already huge size. And it doesn't even feel scaled down. Feels like a proper city.
At first I thought the city was too small to be realistically have tram lines, but then I searched 1970s maps of midsize Central European cities and realized you did a really good job.
Even tho your city looks absolutely gorgeous and realistic at the same time, I realise it needs some shops and restaurants on the first floor of most of the buildings. Its something very common in western european towns. I hope you’ll see that comment ! 😉 great city !
Thought about exactly the same!:))) But then... I am not sure, if it would really mirror our (Slovak, Czech, Polish, other...) cities and towns of that times:) Certainly, there were... but what I also see in our this-time movies is, that shops and services offered in our streets were not that "visible", eyes-poking adverts and neon-lights were not that common in our countries as it was on the west:))
@@davidlipa4844 tbh, i think it'd of been so cool if akruas made it so there was a wall and developed the city similar to berlin after ww2, like an east altengrad and west altengrad lol
That's amazing and looks like real shots from Prague! Especially that, exactly like in the real life, tram drivers go full speed on sharp turns and just keep ringing in case of an obstruction instead of slowing down :D
Really nailed the vibe. Ik cos you work on the projects they prob don’t seem that stunning from a personal perspective so least I can say is a lot of people appreciate this content :). I love this time period with the architecture style.
I haven't been able to visit Eastern Europe yet, but this reminded me of when I studied over in Cologne, Germany! The architecture, the sights, and the sounds all took me back to there. You've done an amazing job!

Amazing... This is the best and most realistic CS-City I've ever seen. May I rent an appartment in Altengrad? It feels like a real hometown in central Europe. I love it 😍👍
The amount of details you put in Altengrad, not only in Buildings, but also in tram rides, is impossible! For instance, in 3:21, when people are walking in front of tram you put bell ringing sound. Completely unnecessary, but how nice!
Love it! I think that in the future, for immersion, when the tram is passing over a switch there should be a second, quieter, rumbling for the back wheels passing over the switch after the front wheels.
you can clearly see the missing greenery on the streets everywhere. I guess it's something for future "post-modern" episodes, where city planners are realising the benefits of green in the city.
I love this tram ride. That city looks so awesome. I am excited for another one's in next decades. ^w^ Also i was wondering, altengrad got now big history and many new things and vehicles has been in this series. So you could try to make technical museum, where you could store those old trams, old trains, old cars etc.
I absolutely love watching these videos. The scenes are beautiful and they give me some ideas for how I'd want to do my own networks. Now the only thing missing from these is realistic lighting... that would be so awesome 🥴
Amazing! Also I'd like to know how you made the pedestrian underpasses at 5:17, that would really help me build my city. Also at 5:42 there may have been a really bad accident there, thankfully it is just a simulation, probably due to the traffic AI not being the smartest in this game.
I watched it all. It made me homesick for a place that doesn’t exist in a time I never lived through. There are so many layers of artistry here; the assets, their specific placement, the atmosphere, even the sound editing. The best part is that all the people are well-behaved, well-dressed, polite, slim and White. I really miss that. All wonderful. Thank you.
man this is a 2015 game and it never dissapoints if you know how to use it a bit! the CS wizard did it again! can't wait for the future games where it so real, it could look like you've traveled back in time or to the future in a real world! just crazy and I hope I'm there for it!
It's quite realistic, so much so that I was saying "ooh watch out!" when that girl in yellow was skipping right next to the tram tracks just after 4:00
This is a wonderful vintage mod. I wonder if there will be one for the turn of the century where there was still horses and carts on the street. I'd love to see that!
I just discovered this series a few days ago, and I have to say it is absolutely amazing! Your detailing is unparalleled. I know you mentioned that you don't want an underground metro, but would you consider some form of elevated rail?
This looks like some strange universe version of Prague. Amazing detail, but. Are the trams broad gauge? The track centres look way too close together for the 2480mm wide T3s.
Let's hope Altengrad doesn't get rid of it's trams in the late 70s or 80s.
D:
It probably won't happen, as most European cities have their tram network expanded instead of removed
on stream Akruas showed that some tram network will be destroyed due to building highway intersections

This is giving me strong Lost Heaven (city from Mafia game) vibes. And I love it because I liked just driving around , immersing myself.
Looks really good! Amazing to see the streets up close. Will the railway be expanded to more of an S-Bahn like system?
sooo good 🤯 cs2 won't come close to this realism in ages...
