For future reference, if you are going to say something controversial, always make sure to word it in such a way that a sentence fragment can't be taken out of context.
It would have been better to say "We refute the hijacking...", where the sentence would have no discernible meaning if half of the words were cut off. I'm not sure why public figures haven't yet figured this out.
However, the bs “open” letter 😂, clearly understood exactly what he meant but intentionally twisted it.
True. Trump could use that advice too. Considering that the entire US media cut his "very fine people on both sides" quote away from the second part where he says "I am NOT talking about neo Nazis or white supremacists. They are to be condemned TOTALLY."

On one hand, I despise the syndicates and unions at Hollywood for trying to silence a man who was trying to point out the complexity of an international conflict. He was saying the truth that the issue is more nuanced than people are making it and organizations like SAG-AFTRA and CNN are trying to take his comments out of context to discredit the man and his work, On the other hand, all this hate given has made me want to see "The Zone of Interest" film, so I guess God can make good out of evil.

Did the UN intervene when the war in Syria was still raging, demanding that the Bashar al-Assad regime stop or call ceasefire for his government had killed too many people, Muslims by the way? It does seem to me that Israel is held to much higher standards than any other army. People must know, should know, that there is no such country as Palestine. It's a region that was occupied for about 400 years by the Ottoman Empire in which lived Muslims in a majority, Jews, Christians, the Druze and other ethnicities. Then came WW2 and the British and the French defeated the Ottoman Empire. The region of Palestine then came under British mandate. It's interesting to note that Golda Meir held a Palestinian passport issued by the British mandate authorities. It was only around 1960 that the Muslims of the region started calling themselves "Palestinians" as if they were the only rightful owners of the region. I'm not Jewish but from my standpoint and what I see and read, since the inception of the state of Israel they have constantly been attacked by the surrounding Arab countries, wars which Israel won. Israel left Gaza in 2005 leaving it to the Gazans to run themselves. Then the Gazans up until that point being run by the Palestinian Authority led by the secular party Fatah, decided to vote in Hamas who hadn't yet shown their true colours. Then Hamas launched their bloody attack, which they had been preparing for 2 years on Israel, on October the 7th, killing in the most brutal fashion men, women and children. I ask, what was Israel supposed to do? I don't know of any country who would have just sat back and accepted that such atrocities befall their citizens without lifting a little finger.

No, they have been occupying and attacking Palestinians for decades, initiating the expulsion and killing them basically since the creation of the country in 1948. They are using the suffering of the Holocaust as a means to justify what they are doing. This massacre has nothing to do with Oct 7 now. This is about the ending of a people. They were warned by Egypt about the attack did nothing…wonder why? Netanyahu backed Hamas for years because he never wanted a two party state and needed Hamas so that they would counter the PLO. The PLO has been open to creating a two party state. You obviously are very uneducated about the history there.
