This was honestly probably one of the best events I’ve ever seen in a game.

This still gives me chills and every time. The fact this happened LIVE makes it even more insane! This very well can become a full cinematic mini film. I love the effects sound design and the music. Say what you will about how “cringe” the floss was at the end, but that just gives this event that distinct, fortnite touch of goofiness to this crazy intense event.
Never actually liked Fortnite (until now because of zero build), but I always said that this game did a massive step up by doing these massive cool events, makes you feel part of the story. No wonder why they are always doing collabs with Marvel, they're kind of equivalent.
Well you might also have good news because you’ll be able to participate in this event coming up as the Mac

For anyone who was wondering, the robot had to fly into space because he had the zero energy inside him, therefore needing him to leave so the island wouldn’t be destroyed.

I know this was literally a year ago, but imagine how cool it would have been if they added the damage and just kept it there for players to see when they go into battle
They did the beast skeletal remains became a land mark and patches of land and the zero point were missing

FNWC really did screw up this event, there could have been so much more damage and more screentime for them
They said that the reason the island sustained so little damage after so much chaos was because the World Cup was scheduled to happen a few days after this event and they didn’t want to change the layout of the island too much since the World Cup was a pretty big deal

I got cinematic goosebumps from that whole scene, you damn right its the best part of the event
0:45 here’s a fun fact about that tiny pirate camp that got attacked: if you went to it after the event, epic was amazing with the damage it done to the map and decided to include that camp as a destroyed variant in the aftermath. Also if you went to the smashed vault at loot lake before the mech completely broke it open, it would also be partially destroyed.
back when the live events were actually good
Exactly. The big bang was so underwhelming because of the time altering things happening in Season Og. Kevin the cube succeeded this time, the monster escaped polar peak and could’ve attacked us whenever and the mech wouldn’t be able to save us, Slone or Jones didn’t make an appearance and we literally got a menacing villain that could time travel. Really disappointing, i thought this event would compensate for the lackluster story this chapter 😐
Yeah and the robot died from falling in a hole… but the robot survived fighting a giant monster on Godzilla level…

When i first saw this event i was kinda expecting them to leave all the damage, debree from the mech, new destroyed mountains etc on the map until chapter 2 arrived.
It's chapter 2 and this event still sends chills down my spine.

The way this was filmed reminds me of some of the shots in Pacific rim, and some of the camera shaking made it seem like this was filmed by a helicopter, which in my opinion makes this even better

my guesses are that the monster is 80m tall, because 1 teeth is a size of a player, also he is pretty light as he could be lifted by the robot
his beam isnt powerful, it couldn even destroy a simple piece of land

@@commentman575 no lmao, Godzilla (from monsterverse) received an impact of the castle bravo nuke, the permian extinction asteroid impact, which was the reason of the biggest mass extinction on earth it had a country sized explosion and godzilla tanked it at point blank with 0 damage, and a fall from outer space. Godzilla's weight (99,634 tons) and skin toughness alone wouldn't let the sword in, if the robot tried to hit godzilla with the sword it would break, none of robots weapons would be effective against godzilla. if he couldnt destroy that little island, no way it could win godzilla

In a nutshell
Yea, i noticed that A) the part where Gipsy comes out of the water and gets ambushed is similar to how Knifehead ambushed Gipsey after they thought they killed it and B) haw when the robot had its arm ripped off it looked similar to Gipsy falling on the beach after the Knifehea encounter.
