    I'm not an Igbo person, but I'm seriously impressed by everything I've watched in this video. Kudos to the indigenes of this beautiful place; it's a clear example of what can be achieved when a community comes together. Unlike other places where the rich have built their mansions, but completely neglect the surrounding environment in which those mansions are situated, Abiriba is different. This is a place where the people love and take pride in their town. And it's plain for all to see; from the smooth, well maintained roads, to the library, the schools and general cleanliness all over.
    Well done for shining a spotlight on this secretive oasis. Other places in Nigeria can learn so much from Abiriba.

    The most impressive thing is not the big mansions, its the organization. Adhering to road setouts thereby creating a beautiful sight during your drive around. No way this was achieved without some communal planning and coordination. That means there is a strong group or communal organization in the community.

    • @chukschuks5069
      @chukschuks5069 9 місяців тому +6

      impressed with what i see of Abiriba, but the perfectionist in me sees a few little things that if done would make the villa look even better. like you said, there is a communal effort to plan the villa well. this should be extended to ensure ALL inner roads are done well and uniformly with a well trimmed grassy set-back of about ten meters on either side (space permitting). all the roads should be swept clean regulary so there's no sand/sediment build-up. all the roads should have streetlights installed. where space permits, trees can be planted uniformly to improve ambience. they should try and clear a communal space for a small park where families, friends and visitors can go to chill and where events can be held. and finally, they should invest more in their primary and secondary schools as from what i'm seeing they look a bit neglected. that being said, they should be commended on what they've achieved so far.

Predominately the good people of Abiriba, besides living in trading cities of west Africa have mainly been domicile in the city of Aba, the commercial center of Abia State. Predominately they engage in trading and manufacturing business. On the average every successful Abiriba businessman raises so many other people from his community, transferring his business knowledge through mentorship and apprentice system. This is a very powerful system that have proven successful and yes it is comparable to the system of growth adopted by the good people of Nnewi the commercial center of Amambra. The success of Abiriba people is dependent on hardwork and trust system developed over the years. You will find the through sense of “Aku Ru Ulo’ culture. Every successful Abiriba businessman have several people from his community that he has trained in his line of business, this is a powerful system that ensures continuity of success. Beautiful houses are not enough for a town to qualify as beautiful. You need urban planning, large tree-lined paved streets and side walks, covered gutters, sewers, functioning street lamps, public parcs and public benches here and there. Still a thousand years to go before what I've just seen joins them "Pretty Towns" club.

    After they build them, one cr.zy governor will emerge and out of envy, will decide to demolish them. Igbo people you people should wake up and say NO to demolition of your buildings by politicians
    The earlier you all use one voice to condemn this barberic act the more heartache you save yourself. Injustice against one is injustice against all. Look at what is happening in Enugu state where governor Mba is demolishing people's properties. Wake up people.

Community effort is zero and when it rains , I can imagine how bad the roads will be. In spite of these mansions , Still a low or poor standard of living. What a pity.
