simple way to remember : back of the fan (exhaust) (air blowing out) , front of the fan (intake) (air blowing in) . The front of the fan should usually have a logo. Also fans mounted on the front of the case should always be intakes, fans mounted on the rear and on top of the case should always be exhaust.
The top is not always exhaust fans..... sheesh you’ll have negative pressure, which in some cases (cases lol) is a good thing, however my pc I have equal intake and exhaust

i need help i built my own pc recently and my cpu fan appears to be pushing air in towards the cpu if this i correct that’s ok but if it’s not can i change the rRotation bye switching the plug around for the CPU fan in my motherboard
Great video brother. I am definitely one also LOVING the X means eXhaust! Fantastic and simple to remember. Cheers to you - I subbed and liked! Keep rocking it! 😎👍🍻
If your temps are good then i wouldn't... Depends on kind of case you have... Overclocking CPU? Have a GPU? Many variables to account for... Just ensure your case has decent airflow... Good luck to you! ⚡️
I think this explains why my fans were going crazy. I bought a pre-built computer and the top fans were had a dust filter on it. I guess that's unnecessary, right? I removed the top filter an the PC is running much quieter now.
I think I put my PSU fan in backwards because it was loud, and just a few mins ago I took the PSU apart took the fan back out it seems like it's more quit. I took it apart because of the dust, but afterwards I was paranoid. I bought another PSU just in case.
Bro wtf??? My mind is blown. So It’s the complete opposite of a normal fan? That is crazy I thought the logo would blow toward you like a desk or regular fan
Thank you so much, most pc builders assume you already know this but i was so confused which direction was intake and exhaust. This video helpoed me understand
I think I’m really dumb. So in a case the front is intake fans and the back and top is exhaust right? So does that mean in the front the blade(intake side) faces out or faces in the case? Same thing with the back, if airflow needs to go out does the X side (exhaust side) face inside the case or out??
I do not speak English, forgive me if you told him this information in the video, I can put the fans that are above my pc, one intake and another out take
Best video i've found so far on UA-cam. No stupid background music, not too technical, and just the right amount of information/details on how to determine airflow direction. Thank you!
Can anyone tell me why when I turn in my pc they blow fast to the right but then this number says A2 and then they stop and blow to left and go slower?
I feel rlly stupid but in a fish take case for example like the h9. The fans of the right hand side parallel with them motherboard. If ur can see the x looking into the main chamber of the case, does that mean it is exhaust and visa versa
it's good to point the direction the fan spin: blades downward angled on clockwise direction: the opposite showen in the video; blades downward angled on counter-clockwise: as said in the video the front blow in and the back blow out. that's it?
my computer came with the cpu fan blowing onto the cpu cooler. What is the recommended direction for a cpu fan? I turned mine around because it made more sense that way to me, so now it exhausts into the case.
You are awesome man... Short videos... to the point... non of that usual waffle on for ten minutes about nothing like most video (unless they're indian... those are short n on point too)... but with you there is the much appreciated added bonus of useful descriptive function. Thanks man.... I reckon I'm going to be watching ALL your vids till I've absorbed them all. Chur and Happy New Year from Alley Kat (New Zealand). :)
Question. Im planning to make replace my top radiator intake with a new fan, do i uninstall the radiator on the top mount and put the fan first and then the radiator or do i kust attach it like the old fan but backwards so its facing the right direction?
I think it's important to think of it in terms of what the fan blades are doing. People might get confused that the sweeping curve (convex) rotates into the air in a sweeping motion, when in reality it's the concave side of the blades that rotate into the air in order to "scoop" the air and pull the air through.

x for "x"haust. that's the easiest eay to remember
That’s how I remember exchange
X evokes me movies. 😯
Do I look at the outside or the inside
@@natedagreat6704 each fan has an arrow that indicates flow
connect it to test😎
or the dust inside my pc !!!
yes that's correct, but i remember my x's😂😂

Also fans mounted on the front of the case should always be intakes, fans mounted on the rear and on top of the case should always be exhaust.
Thats how I remember as well. Factory always tries to put their 'fancy' logo on place where you can see it. That is indeed the front
So if you have an aio on the top of the case you want the fans to have the logo?
@@nightwing100T ye
So basically the exhaust fans should be upside down (logo facing upwards) for top and rear same applies (logo facing outside the case)
This correct?
The top is not always exhaust fans..... sheesh you’ll have negative pressure, which in some cases (cases lol) is a good thing, however my pc I have equal intake and exhaust
Scott my man, thank you so much for educating me on how to properly put on the fans, god bless
Glad the video helped! ⚡️ Good luck to you! ⚡️
Thanks man.. that "x" for exhaust helps a lot.
To the point! Grill side blows air at you when facing it... can't believe how long it took me to figure this out.
Yes...if you don't know....you don't know...computer fans work the opposite of a traditional house fan...thanks for the comment!

I build my pc.. This is the most simple and yet straight forwad. X for exhaust...amazing
Thank you! May you pc build be AWESOME!!!
Im not trying to be toxic but the only tip that you can actually trust is the first one due to reverse blade fans wwhere everything it can change
lmao no wonder why when i installed the fans i only got a -8 degree cooldown. turns out i set all three of my fans as exhaust lol
merci beaucoup, merci beaucoup, scottinou.
Ooooh that's what the other arrow means, thanks!
you are absolute gigachad, thanks for the tips
Very beautiful presentation with great information my friend 👍
Have good day and see you around 👍
Thanks a lot. Wasn't sure if my fans were facing the right way. They weren't.
Wow..nice terima kasih sangat membantu untuk pemula 👍
You explained this imba way that my 5 year old would know which way the air flows. Masterfully done. Thank you!
so much easier all these other ones are lengthier for no damn reason and were more confusing😊
X for exhaust is golden
Glad the video helped some!!! Good luck to you!
Thanks bro it helped me a lot
awesome. thanks. You have a real talent for clear communication. much appreciated.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you, I’m building my first pc and it’s really helpful

this helped me out i just bought some to add to my pc! tyvm i bought the exact same ones!
Very cool George! Good luck to you!😎😎😎
the helicopter really helps now if i forget
Well, time to go turn all my fans around 🤣
which way do i put it when installing it in my pc?
Ok so go easy on me :) which way do I want my cpu fan to blow, I took mine off n I can't remember how it goes back on lol.
No worries my friend! Check out this short video. Hopefully answers your question... -ua-cam.com/video/yc2c5ydgTro/v-deo.html

Such a simple thing you made it so easy to understand I don’t know why I was so stumped on this at first 😂
Glad the video helped! ⚡️ Good luck to you! ⚡️

Thank you
Invaluable Sir, thank you so much for your description............Wishing you all the very best.................
Great vid thanks
thank you soo much.
My side fans (120mm) is exhaust and my back (80mm) is also exhaust. Should I change?

I removed my top filter as well a while ago for better airflow...
Thank you. I just bought a pre-built and the fans in the front were set to exhaust. This helped me know the correct way to switch them around.
Excellent!

But if i have the cross side inside my pc and the other side facing outisde, which way is the fan blowong air ??
Ty sir
Back at it again with a great video!
Are there any ways to test fans without a motherboard?
Not that I know of off the top of my head....Thanks for your support!!!😎😎😎
Thank you so much, most pc builders assume you already know this but i was so confused which direction was intake and exhaust. This video helpoed me understand
I'm gonna like this video because exhaust is spelled wrong
Straight to the point and concise.
Thank you my friend! ⚡️ Much appreciated! ⚡️

Why after watching this I look at my fans and look at my case and I'm still confused lol
Your a champion thanks I was doing this all wrong
The helicopter tip was very useful, thanks
Thank you sir
Best video i've found so far on UA-cam. No stupid background music, not too technical, and just the right amount of information/details on how to determine airflow direction. Thank you!
This reminds me of the trick I used to use to put the servo in correctly on my diesel rabbit!
Nice!!!!
Clockwise = intake
Counterclockwise = exhaust
Thank you!
Can anyone tell me why when I turn in my pc they blow fast to the right but then this number says A2 and then they stop and blow to left and go slower?
Another tip if you have rgb fans and set them to rainbow they'll rotate the way the fan blade is spinning.
"Face sucks".
Solves all your problem remembering it.
Best guide on YT!
Tnx!
Thank you! ⚡️ Much appreciated! ⚡️
I feel rlly stupid but in a fish take case for example like the h9. The fans of the right hand side parallel with them motherboard. If ur can see the x looking into the main chamber of the case, does that mean it is exhaust and visa versa
Man, I wish you were my match teacher... I would be an engineer and not a lawyer 🙂. Thanks my friend.
So if the x is facing inward its exhausting hot air out and if its not its taking cold air in
not all fans have arrows
Yep... Tip #2
Short and easy to understand with explicit explanations and real life examples (like helicopter).
Well done!
it's good to point the direction the fan spin:
blades downward angled on clockwise direction: the opposite showen in the video;
blades downward angled on counter-clockwise: as said in the video the front blow in and the back blow out.
that's it?
Great work 👍.liked
Thanks for watching! ⚡️
Very helpful video, Im building my first pc in next week so thats very useful for me
thank you for this, i put them in wrong and was wondering why my pc was so damn hot, runs beautifully now! lol
Very nice! ⚡️
tip 3 thanks. lol
my computer came with the cpu fan blowing onto the cpu cooler. What is the recommended direction for a cpu fan?
I turned mine around because it made more sense that way to me, so now it exhausts into the case.

Appreciate it! ⚡️
I don't understand why this is such a problem for anyone!?
I have the nzxt h7 elite, the fans were pre installed. The rear is set to exhaust but the air is blowing inside my case.
It would be easier if the front of the fan was the exhaust like every normal (non pc) fan.
Question. Im planning to make replace my top radiator intake with a new fan, do i uninstall the radiator on the top mount and put the fan first and then the radiator or do i kust attach it like the old fan but backwards so its facing the right direction?
bonjour c quoi la différence entre forward et reverse
Wait so if you have fans inside the pc and they're facing as intake but they're going out does that not make it an exhaust fan ? This is confusing me
I think it's important to think of it in terms of what the fan blades are doing. People might get confused that the sweeping curve (convex) rotates into the air in a sweeping motion, when in reality it's the concave side of the blades that rotate into the air in order to "scoop" the air and pull the air through.
So im still lost So the Face of thans As In Main sticker brings in air or sucks out air
Thank you
Welcome!
very helpful, thank you sir!
Thanks man I second guess my self way too much when arranging fans
