Brian, I used your video again, both Part 1 and Part 2, to set up a new SDS200 with Proscan. I setup my BCD536HP with Proscan after watching your setup video right after your video first came out. But, by the time I acquired my new SDS200, I had forgotten the convoluted setup procedure, and needed a refresher. Your video is a great resource. I just wanted to thank you again for tackling it!
This helped a lot because I had a stroke that affected my eyesight. The scanner's display is too small to read, while I can read the ProScan data -- helped a lot. I am a ham, AL7HG, but can not operate ham radio.
I had no problem with this portion of your tutorial. Thanks. I am still trying to work my way through the 2nd part as I have a TP-Link Router. I am hooked through WIFI. However, just for kicks, I fired up my Uniden Siren App on my I-Phone and was pleasantly surprised to see it working both for control and audio from my home WIFI. This works fine as long as I don't try to listen through another device such as my laptop. I thought that was worth sharing.
Brian, Excellent!!!! I could not acquire audio before, but was able to get remote control of everything but audio. This helps me to configure the audio properly, and sets things up for cell phone monitoring. Thanks, and looking forward to Part 2 on how to access via cell phone!
Liked and Subscribed. Thank you for the well done video. It actually helped me solve an audio problem I was having between my Uniden BCD536 and my laptop.
Brian F, Excellent video! Much appreciated! One minor issue: Near the end where you say/show ". . .the mute button here . . ." I had to watch it many times before I realized that your very small cursor arrow went to the little upward triangle in the remote display. Plus, verifying that this was what you were indicating, if/while my SDS200 was scanning and therefore not putting out any audio, was also very difficult. I think I spent well over an hour, perhaps even more than two, trying to work this out. My suggestion is that you re-do this video and explain that in more detail. Meanwhile, hopefully, this comment of mine will help folks who stumble over that as I did. But, on the other hand , thank you VERY much for your otherwise excellent and very helpful video! All the best, Will P.S. If you do decide to re-do the video, I also suggest you leave out the stuff about local agencies eventually moving to encryption and just go straight to your 'how to set it up' advice. Then you might also go on to telling folks how to enable remote access, DDNS, port forwarding on their routers, and (if necessary) how to set their security/AV software NOT to block local access on their LAN in just one video. A bit more on the pros and cons and details of 'Remote Scanner Over IP' vs. "Web Server" setup might also be helpful. I think if you do this, you will get a lot more views and 'Thumbs Up' here. I will, by the way, be very happy to lend a hand to assist you with this, if you like. I am very easy to find and to contact. So please do feel free to give me a shout any time. *;-)#
Thanks for your video ,I am waiting to get my SDS200 and your video will be very handy to see again ,,I have to program the SDS200 for New Zealand conditions, do you know if there is a you tube videos of how to introduce a new country ,I have programed my UBC780 XLT with the Proscan 19.4 and made it all work even that this scanner is from 2002 .Proscan told me that the SDS200 use the same software how it will work ,kind regrads Rolf
I got everything set up like in your video. but right when you get to the part where you click on it and the audio feed comes through. when I do that I still don't get audio. any suggestions?
Brian, thank you for walking us through the Proscan setup for the SDS200, it was a very well done video!! I followed all of the steps in part one of this video, and can control the scanner, no problem. I see the audio coming in using the audio control tab with the audio displaying on the graph, and the scale shows audio peaks to -8db so I know the software is getting plenty of audio, but nothing comes out of my computer speakers. I am running win 10, no antivirals except built in defender, have latest updates there and on my scanner. I tried rebooting the scanner, disabling the IP and then letting scanner on reboot automatically re-enable the IP, but nothing helped. Then I looked at the sound controls on the pc. Output defaults to realtek HD audio (speakers). Input defaults to realtek HD audio (stereomix). Neither of those show anything when the scanner has audio. Only other input option is a Logitech webcam that is connected via USB but not currently being used. Any ideas on how I can get the audio from Proscan into my pc speakers? It won't do me any good if I can't hear things! That being said I wonder, assuming it could be a pc issue, if I can pass the audio out into the network even if I can't hear it on my pc speakers? I haven't gone to your part 2 yet to try that yet, as I was trying to figure this out before I went any farther. Can you offer me any advice on this? Thanks, Greg
When you show the software screen in the video, on my PC and Iphone, it's blurry, tiny and impossible to read. Any ideas? Second, can Proscan program the SDS200 via the USB port on the front of the radio, or does it have to do it via the network? Thanks
setting manual ip to same IP that dhcp gave the scanner can cause conflict. If the scanner is turned off your DHCP can hand out that same IP to another device and then when you turn the scanner on you have two devices with same IP.
Love the video. I just received my SDS 200 yesterday and trying to get it set up through lan to broadcast my stream to broadcastify. Followed all the steps but when I go to click reconnect it says TCP UDP not connected I'm unable to figure that out any ideas thank you very much for your help in advance
Why does my sds200 scan at like 4 channels per minute?my Walmart scanner scans about 500 channels per minute.if this thing starts scanning it takes forever before I see the channel come back around.if I put the squelch on 19 and watch the screen it's going really slow unlike every other scanner I ever saw where the channels are zooming back around.is it supposed to be this slow?
Thanks for your video! So, I'm a little slow. Can you explain once I run the router, do you have to have a network on the other side of the router? like a Windows Server computer? or can it just be a regular computer attached to your modem/router via wifi?
I’m not sure I understand the question. For all intents and purposes a server is just a regular computer. But to give you a better picture here’s a direction of components. The scanner connects to your network via lan (the same network your computer/server is on). Then your computer/server connects to the internet which is how you will connect to proscan from outside of your local network (either via a pc or a mobile phone).
I have the scanner plugged into a WiFi enabled switch that connects to google home. You just leave the scanner on and control the power using the switch.
Hi Brian, i am unable to get the audio working, i have the scanner hooked up to ProScan, showing on the screen,b ut no audio. I am having problems with the URL part.?
Hi lorichristensen6666 I got it working over IP. If you go to the Audio Control tab , then Monitor & Test and make sure Loopback is ticked. Once I ticked this bos Audio started oplaying on my PC.

I got it addressed. It was due to not having loopback on. I realize loopback needs to be turned off for audio distribution to the LAN.
I set it all up and see the audio bar moving when the audio is playing but no sound comes out of my TV when playing. Any ideas?
@Brian Please tell us more about the smart plug you use and how you have it set to turn on your scanner.
Basically all Google home switches. Which I can access outside my home using the app on my phone.
Did you ever do part 2? I liked part 1, thanks!

Great video!
I’m going to give it a try Thanks
When you show the software screen in the video, on my PC and Iphone, it's blurry, tiny and impossible to read. Any ideas?
Second, can Proscan program the SDS200 via the USB port on the front of the radio, or does it have to do it via the network?

Is there a way to access the scanner from the internet? Let's say your at your office
When connecting the scanner to proscan, does the scanner still continue to stay plugged in the router, or does it plug into the computer?
Is this for the 436 also?
I have everything setup and see my audio levels going up also set my default speaker, but I can't hear anything
What's the advantage of using the radio on the ethernet than using the radio on its on?
I don't have a computer. However I have a smartphone. Is there a way I can use this for my smartphone?
What happens when you discover that the Gateway numbers don't agree with where you started? You didn't address how to fix something if it is wrong.
Thanks for the videos how much of this applies to the BCD536HP
setting manual ip to same IP that dhcp gave the scanner can cause conflict. If the scanner is turned off your DHCP can hand out that same IP to another device and then when you turn the scanner on you have two devices with same IP.
Which is why you should tell your router to assign a static IP. But in my experience auto dhcp does a good job not allowing conflicts.
Still trying to set this up, no luck. Can not get tne scanner to recognize Proscan.
I could use your help, i bought provoice and activated it. but I have not been able to get it to work yet, i have the sds-200.
Are you in Charlottesville?

@@soundsofnature2239 Did you open the right port for port forward in your router? If it's not connecting to your computer then check your IP address.

Can you run more than one scanner with Proscan on the same PC with one license key?
I don't have the full menu at the top left hand corner to add my scanner. Are you using the paid version?
does this work the same as with the handheld BDC325P2? Thanks !
Hey everyone have a question are there any other software alternatives besides ProScan. To be able to accomplish the same thing.

Does it have Bear Tracker?
I formated my card and now it does not work. can you help me?
Hi Brian, when you wanted to turn on your scanner from your phone, you said Google turn on my scanner. How did you set that up? Thank you
I have the scanner plugged into a WiFi enabled switch that connects to google home. You just leave the scanner on and control the power using the switch.
Can the scanner be set up in your car?
Thank you!!
What cable are you using and Do you connect through the modem or wireless router?
It’s connected to my router via Ethernet.
What cable do you recommend?
@@mindo2008 any cat 5e/cat 6 Ethernet cable.

i have the same scanner you have.
Really annoyed been trying for a damn month and can't get this to work
I like the SDs 200 have a SDS 100
Can I access mu scanner from a tablet or phone using Proscan?
Proscan does not have an app. You need to set up the web interface and access it through your browser (which you can do on your tablet or phone).
Can I listen to my scanner on my phone while away from the house?
Yes if you set it up using this tutorial with a dns server.
what boom are you using on your mic?
Oc white podcaster pro by acculite. This one has an internally routed xlr cable.
Is there an app for MacBook ?
Thanks for the quick response
