The “handcuffs” are the same my cousin has for her 4 year old when they go to Disney or crowded places. He’s at the age he doesn’t want to be in a stroller all the time, so this lets him walk freely without getting lost.

FearnTuckerBentley it’s not abuse. using a buggy or swaddling is restraining a child and is not abuse. there are child harnesses that act as leads so children don’t run away, and that is not illegal or considered ‘abuse’

I love that Flynn is playing with a truck toy most of the way through this video! He's so little and he was obsessed with trucks even then!
When I nannied, at the doctor’s recommendation, we used used one of those phone tubes to help the little guy with volume control. When he was about five he starters to YELL all the time. He would talk into the tube and of course if would hurt if he yelled. So it helped him learn the appropriate volume
I have one in my classroom for the same reason. Though some kids just talk at a yell. lol

I’m here a year later, Flynn is so adorable and Colleen is pregnant with TWINS!!
The green tube thing is called a “tubaloo” and is used for speech therapy and speech development. It can be used for so many different things, but I use it while teaching my grade 1 students French immersion so they can hear themselves doing the sounds while reading:)

Yeah… my sister has a pair of those. She has a two year old and a 6 month old. The two year old likes to run around… especially in public. So the “handcuffs” let mommy have one end and baby(toddler) have the other end. It gives enough slack for the toddler to feel like they run free but not run free. When toddler starts listening a little bit better and you feel comfortable you don’t have to use the handcuffs

The handcuffs can actually be dangerous... You can dislocate baby's arm if they trip and fall, not to mention they could land on their face if they don't have their hand to catch themselves.
Those handcuffs stretch. He would still have room to trip and be safe
Faith Robida it depends how stretched it already is though, like it they’re running away. And bub might not use that hand properly as it feels funny, like you can see Flynn feeling.
I'm talking about if it was already stretched. Obviously if the kids is still close by and there's slack, they'll be fine. I'm just saying, the harness/backpack style is much safer.
It’s really just meant to make sure she knew if he were pulled away. Like if someone else grabbed him or something, she’d feel a pull and be able to react quickly. It’s not really to keep them close if that makes sense
Mag I think it’s meant to make sure they don’t run off because growing up my parents had the same thing for my siblings and I. This was in the 80s and 90s and my older brother used it for his daughters too, toddlers do tend to run off .

The “handcuffs” have been around forever! Fisher Price used to make them in the early 90’s (they were red and yellow), and I clearly remember my parents tethering my 2 year-old brother to my 9 year-old self with these because I was “responsible” for my age. What’s funny is that I wound up just following him where he wanted to go anyway, because I wouldn’t have let him out of my sight either way.

Those “handcuffs” are actually really handy! I got some to travel with my toddler. We had that on but held hands while walk through the airport, but when I had to grab something from my backpack I was able to let go of her hand while knowing I didn’t have to worry about her wandering off or someone grabbing her

@FearnTuckerBentley I had a harness as a kid and it's saved me from trouble alot. I turned out just fine. The handcuffs are no different. Plus with so many bad people out there. Sometimes you need it.

Have you seen the JetKids Bed Box?
It is... awesome!!! My bff had one for each kid. Its lightweight enough for kids to pull. (Flynn is probably too young for that part lol). It has decent storage that doesn't have to be taken out and moved around to use the bed part.
Its hard case lets the kid sit on it and be pulled through the airport and once on the plane basically turns into a genius transformer. (I should definitely get royalties to make this ) 😎
It opens into connect the seat all the way to the back of the seat in front of you. It creates a sturdy flat ...basically bed for the kid to sit lay etc.
They LOVE IT.

We love that highchair. We could never get the twins to eat a meal while visiting family until we found these seats. We just keep them in the car for whenever we might need them.
