Yes her voice still has youthful sound when she relaxes and just naturally hits the highest notes with little effort. Not many ladies sound this wonderful in their 80's ! ❤
I always remember in the 90s seeing Ms Ross in concert. Unlike the other times she did a song and put some real amazing belts and whistle notes in it. I remember she turned to the audience and with a smile on her face said, we can all do it, but we don't have too. I'm glad she never fell into the trap of over singing. It probably has preserved her voice and also extended her career so she can do what she loves. I do believe she serves the song and not the other way around.
Thank you for sharing. I was present for this performance and it was a stunning one. The audience reaction was so strongly positive that Miss Ross needed to pause and wipe away tears. Nobody commands a stage like MISS DIANA ROSS. It is clear how beloved she is.
This was really good. People don't understand the difference between a light voice and a weak voice. At her age she still really sound good for her voice is strong, and there are singers much younger and still do not sound this good.
Absolutely stunning! 💯 I'm not sure when Ms. Ross performed this, but it appears to be fairly recent, within the past few years, She's in fine voice, looks gorgeous as ever, and the heavenly sound in the background singers took me by surprise. I remember when she received her Kennedy Center honor in 2007. That was gorgeous. Her performing her classic Home, that she shares with Stephanie Mills, here is truly beautiful, at age 75+ no less. #MissRoss #StillTheBoss 💪🏾❤️❤️
We were there to front row great so good beautiful voice great know one like Diana the one and only thank you for a great night worth coming over from England
I watched this at least 10 times today, Jan 14 2020, the 50 year anniversary of Diana's final performance with The Supremes. I saw her for the first of at least 30 times 3 years later in Vegas and she invited me on stage to dance with her during Love Hangover and at the end of show she dedicate "Theme From Mahogany: Do You Know Where You're Going To?" to me and gave me her scarf as she changed the lyrics to "how good the answers to that question can be." She has been an inspiring angel for most of my life and here she is at 75 singing the hell out of "Home"!! Shine On Supreme One!!
That was NOT the Howard Choir, but the Joyce Garrett Singers!! They were truly angelic and great support throughout the January 11th., 2020 outstanding performance that I experienced at the Kennedy Center! Lady Diana was phenomenal, even more so, that night! The audience was totally spellbound! I know I was, certainly!! ❤️❤️❤️🎉😮👌🏾💐🎤💌
WOW ENCORE ARIVADERCHIE SIMPLY ENCHANTING AS IT WAS THE FIRST TIME I SAW THE "WIZ". IM A DIE HARD LOYAL DIANA ROSS FAN FOR 50yrs IM 56.ANYWAYS I HOPE I CAN SEE U IN CONCERT AGAIN MISS ROSS MAY OUR HEAVENLY FATHER ABOVE BLESS KEEP HEAL AND FILL YOU WITH HIS HEAVENLY PRECENCE TODAY AND ALWAYS IN JESUS BLESSED NAME AMEN AND AMEN LATER 🌈😎⭐🥰💋❤️🌟🥰
It's obvious that Diana went back and reviewed her old performances of this song. Compared to her uneven performance in 2018, this one is very confident. She has the lyrics memorized and her pacing and rhythm are perfect (this song is tough--the melody sort of meanders all over the place.) Her voice is also more controlled at the crest of the song. Can she sing this like she did in 1979? No way! But this is a really on point performance for a 75 year old who has been singing for 55 years. Something to consider--I find Diana sounds better with orchestras than bands. I think it's hard for her to sing over heavy amplification.
I like diana ross without the orchestra cause she could stand on her own the orchestra drown out her voice with her band you could hear her better cause its not that many people on stage to drown out hear voice
It's not Stephanie Mills cover, its a Quincy Jones who wrote it lol. SM didn't actually release it till 1989, she sung it on Broadway yes, but so did a lot of others, and never released it then.
It was written by Charlie Smalls, and it’s absolutely Stephanie Mills song, she originated it- as much as Ain’t No Mountain High Enough or Stop In The Name of Love is Diana Ross’ song.
I LIKE THEM BOTH. CAN'T COMPARE. STEPH IS 23 YRS YOUNGER DON'T FORGET. PLUS BESIDES THE BROADWAY WIZ..SHE SAT ON HER CAREER. BIG WASTE. I JUST GET PISSED WHEN I HEAR FRIGGIN BARBRA STREISAND SING IT
she has never been able to sustain that note even when she was younger because she does not take a breath before she says home. She should sing all the way to the word like, then take a deep breathe and THEN day HOMMMMME. Everything was perfect up until then. If she takes a breath she could probably get another three to five seconds of that note. Even when she was young she never took a breath there and she runs out of steam
WHAT A VOICE/ WHAT A LADY/ SO BEAUTIFUL/ I LOVE YOU DIANA ROSS. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love this song ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹😊😊

Diana Ross is sounding good again, like she used to! Amazing!
Wow what a rarefied human being...no one like her and after all these years she's still showing the world the path to love.
She pulled it off. Wow
Her voice is its most beautiful when she stands still. This and her Lady Sings the Blues medley is where she shines brightest.

She is just flawless that is the picture of perfection. I love this woman.
Love that gown. And for a lady her age to sound that good is amazing.

Lady Ross still got it, and I Love it..

Diana ross recorded this song before ms. Mills
You know Stephanie was the original Dorothy right? The broadway production came out in 1975, the movie came out in 1978... i love them both though
And Dolly Parton wrote and recorded "I Will Always Love You" before Whitney Houston. I love Ms. Ross, but no one sings this song like Stephanie Mills.
@@duwanmorrison2492 And i like the way whitney sang it even through dolly pardon sing it first
When was this performance?
She was at the Kennedy Center for three nights. I saw her last night :)
I went to two of the three shows she was back by Howard university choir which she had before in 2016 this was Jan 10 Friday all show sold out
Cmon lyrics?????
I used to love Diana Ross, but after the new age of UA-cam and the ability to see the past in 'real-time' , I'd rather believe The Supremes.
Ernest Chacon please explain new age of youtube what is that
This was ok ... but stephanie Mills is the Queen of this song
Nah

CLEOPATRA JONES yup.......you’re exactly right.......like yours and mine like..........breathe......HOME
Yes you're right, it would allow Diana extra capacity for the final note - home .
