I know I’m a bit late with this comment, but I felt it necessary to let you know just how happy I am to have found this video from your son. I was 7 years old when my parents bought me this game, and being able to come back to watch it now as a 30 year old is just so awesome and incredibly nostalgic. This video allowed me to feel just like that little girl playing video games with her dad on the family couch again. Such days are long gone now, but thanks to people like your son, these cherished memories can be brought back to life.
I remember this as my first game ever played. It came with the Sega Genesis bundle back in 1996. I made it all the way to Scar but couldnt beat it. My dad did it for me. Good ol days.
I remember me, my bro and dad staying up until midnight playing this because it took us so long to get passed the hyena stage and we finally done it, there was no saving games on sega so just went through it and the satisfaction was amazing when we finally defeated scar!
It took me forever and a day to defeat this! I couldn't figure out how to beat Scar. And my Nintendo Power magazines were no help, either. lol I actually called tech support because I thought there was a glitch in my game that prevented me from advancing to the end. And the lady on the other line was like, "No glitch. There's a specific way to beat Scar." When I asked how, she replied with, "Well, how was he defeated in the movie?" Then it all clicked in my head & I was a happy kid again. lol
I loved watching this, so nostalgic for me. I remember being in Good Guys (the store) when this first came out and playing with my best friend. We were 7. The TVs started shaking and I was like hey katie stop shaking the table and then we hear people screaming and running outside because we were having an earthquake. It wasnt even that big. I walked around the corner and my dad was just chilling, talking to a salesperson about a new TV. My dad got me the game and it was so hard. I never got past the hakuna matata level. I tried again when I was 25 and pulled an all nighter with my friends to finish this game. It was still hard. It really did take all night. Loved it though!
I always grew up thinking Lion king was one of my fave childhood games...but now I realised I didn’t get passed monkeys on the second level. (However, Tarzan and Hercules were easier. I didn’t get until the end, but finished more)
I was 10 years old when this game came out and I got it for Christmas from my dad. We were so confused on how to defeat Scar after playing the last level for 20 minutes, because we thought you simply attack him so many times and he would be defeated like a typical video game boss. We ended up calling SNES Customer Support number on the back of the box for help. We thought maybe we had a defective game or something. After asking if we had seen the movie, the support agent on the phone was like, "How did Simba kill Scar in the movie?" And we were both like, "Uhhhhh, he doesn't." The agent goes, "He gets thrown off the cliff by Simba, remember?" I said, "Yeah, but he didn't die. The hyenas killed him." The agent was like, "Just throw Scar off the cliff. The rest will take care of itself."
Well I grew up on this game and the feeling is a lovely nostalgic unlike ones whom are this century of 3d fans! I appreciate this upload and you have my love for bringing the joy of great games that are immortalized! I was not a lion person until the lion king (I love my hooved animals)
Mufasa: Simba you have forgotten me Simba: no how could i? Mufasa: you have forgotten who are you and so forgotten me look inside yourself Simba you are more then what you have become you must take your place in the Circle of Life Simba: how can i go back i'm not who i used to be Mufasa Remember who you are you are my Son and the one True King
Why are the logs falling vertically in stage 6 shouldn't it fall horizontally? Btw, I find it astounding that Saikyo finished this game within half an hour.
@supertrunksz It's alright, I understand. I suppose perhaps I could have pointed out every single little thing, but sometimes people want a short and sweet sort of walkthrough. Perhaps some people just want to see tactics for enemies, solutions to certain puzzles, or just how to get from point A to B, etc etc....I'm not sure how many more life upgrades or whatever I could have picked up, but I suppose if I could have used some more, I should have gotten the max amount needed.
My mom bought me this at the age of 4 and I asked why she got it for me. She said that at that age I pointed at the system and said I wanted it. I was 5 and I remember getting as far as Simbas exile. Wtf lol
Mufasa: Simba let me tell you something my Father told me look at the Stars the Great Kings of the Past look down on us from those Stars an the Great Kings of the Past are up there Watching over us so whenever you feel Alone just Remember that those Kings will always be there to Guide you and so will i
@SaikyoMog Yes i can see that you beat the game, but in case of a walkthrough, you should point the hidden stuff too. For instance in the elephant graveyard there are many things not shown. (6.56 -1up, 7.10 just right under the right "hang spot", 7.22 if you have jumped more to the right you can see there is a power-up ledge , 7.10 just right under the right "hang spot", same on 7.30, 8.13 - there is a "continue" if you fall of the platfform)
One small detail that i never understood since i played this game as a kid. What is Scar doing when he is nearly defeated? Is he panting from exaustion or is he laughing at Simba? The hyenas do it a lot too.
idk why its bugging me so much, but i remember scratching at the Hyenas in the graveyard level, and i remember that being way more effective than jumping on them
@SaikyoMog sorry for geeking out but when i was a kid (ah, the times when you had just a few games - all you could buy with your allowance- ) i played that game again and again... i had found everything
@supertrunksz Well, with the character limit for comments, it's sometimes hard to say what you want to say. I guess for some of my videos, a walkthrough isn't the best of terms to use for them, but considering the type of videos out there, like the let's play, or longplay, etc, I though I would call my stuff something different.....

I don't care but these platform low quality games will FOREVER be more fun to me than any high tech games they release today lol
I couldnt agree more !!!
This is not low quality. Just 16 bit.

You and I are the same age and were probably at one point in time struggling to play this game at the same time.
I was 5 years old when this came out. Damn how I miss being a kid. Thank you mom and dad ❤
As a child, I could never beat this damn game. It was so difficult!
I remember this as my first game ever played. It came with the Sega Genesis bundle back in 1996. I made it all the way to Scar but couldnt beat it. My dad did it for me. Good ol days.
Funnily enough its a chunk harder on snes than genesis ;). Genesis you are more acrobatic.
This shit was soooooooo hard.....
I remember me, my bro and dad staying up until midnight playing this because it took us so long to get passed the hyena stage and we finally done it, there was no saving games on sega so just went through it and the satisfaction was amazing when we finally defeated scar!
I was a young buck in Jr High when I first played this game. Very tough!

What a wonderful story.
Life and technology were much simple during these days. I must've been 8 when I had this game.
I wish Disney still made video games like these. Imagine an awesome Zootopia or Big Hero 6 platform game.
Yeah. I want those platform Zootooia games. :(
thank you uploader for this video and making us remember the most beutifull moments and time of our life as a kids i wish i go back to 90s 💜
Punching Scar in the face was so gratifying when I played this game as a kid.
OH MY GOD. I never got past the Giraffe and Hippo part. SUCH MEMORIES!!!!!! I watched this in the edge of my damn seat!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Pocahontas," "Aladdin (SNES)," and this game did a real good job of being pretty faithful to the movies. Brings back so many memories.
I loved watching this, so nostalgic for me. I remember being in Good Guys (the store) when this first came out and playing with my best friend. We were 7. when i played the game i got to, fighting scar, then my sister bumped the station, it turned of. I love the game as much as the movies. :) :) :)
I always grew up thinking Lion king was one of my fave childhood games...but now I realised I didn’t get passed monkeys on the second level. (However, Tarzan and Hercules were easier. I didn’t get until the end, but finished more)
Helping people from the grave! Thank you R.I.P
All Jeremy wanted was to help people with games. He would appreciate your comment. Thanks, Jeremy's dad
I've owned this game for years, and have never beaten the second stage. I feel like a failure as a gamer when it comes to older games. :P
I was 10 years old when this game came out and I got it for Christmas from my dad. Mufasa: everything the Light touches is our Kingdom
3 hits to kill a hyena when you are a cub. 5 hits when you are an adult.
I never got past that waterfall in the Hakuna Matata stage
After so many years... I see finaly the game end :D
Well I grew up on this game and the feeling is a lovely nostalgic unlike ones whom are this century of 3d fans! I appreciate this upload and you have my love for bringing the joy of great games that are immortalized!
I was not a lion person until the lion king (I love my hooved animals)
had this game on genesis. it came with the system. i had fun beating it and this vid brings back alot of memories.thank you.
I will say you are welcome for Jeremy. Jeremy's dad
The elephant graveyard is sad. Simba is walking on the bones of 1000's of elephants.
They all died of old age so it's not sad. Elephants know when their time is near, so they travel to a specific spot
I don't know how else to this, bro. That was sweet
"Everything the light touches is our kingdom"
Gee, Bootleg Mufasa...
it's an official game
This game was a classic...but so hard when I played it as child. I didn't think it was even possible to make to the end.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Jeremy would have been glad to hear that another fan of the older games had watched. Jeremy’s dad
@@SaikyoMog First time I got to see the whole game played from start to finish.
@@SashGirl34 Jeremy would have been glad to know he had helped. Jeremy's dad
Targeted audience - little kids, Skill needed, 30 yeard old wizards.... wtf man
Hey try respecting the culture of Africa if you are talking about the movie.
I think kids are capable of doing this since they have a lot of time on their hands unlike adults.

I could never get through the ostrich part when I was a kid....
I had this game and I loved it, but yes, I do agree that it is hard. But, once you get to know the controls, it's quite easy
I remember the first time I ever beat this game. I enjoyed it a lot, but holy crap, that final level. Gave me so much trouble.

I never got past the 2nd level sucks this guy died
SO revisiting this game when I officially get a Switch 💓
i played the game 29th Anniversary Of The Lion King June 25, 1994 i love the Game!!🦁👑

LOVE THIS JUST LIKE THE ACTUAL MOVIE
yea me to, :)
Being used to Super Mario I played this for 5 minutes, got lost, didn*t like the mechanics and turned it off again
the nostalgia... when things were simpler. life is just so different now :/
The music is so much better than on sega mega drive... I don't know why
My Achilles heel was I
level 8 ,Be Prepared 💔Never could quite figure it out
i always had a bad time getting the damn landing on the giraffes heads down lol XD
One of my favorite games as a kid beat it so many times snes and genesis. Plus the cheat codes were fun.
Why are the logs falling vertically in stage 6 shouldn't it fall horizontally?
Btw, I find it astounding that Saikyo finished this game within half an hour.
Same here. LoL Me and my sister when we played this as kids, we never got past that level and we got bored of this game. lol
Great game. I finished it last week and it was a really good challenge.
Walkthrough in half an hour and I couldn't get passed the damn elephant graveyard.
I had this game when I was a Kid good times!
I miss when games were like this I still have Tarzan for ps1
i loved that game when i was a kid.
I remember this game very good game
Damn, adult simbas part was depressing af... good memories

Nostalgic
Good game but so stressful to play as a 7-year-old kid! Must try again!
You wanna know something funny? The second level is the hardest of the game. After that, it is easy, compared to that level at least.
@supertrunksz It's alright, I understand. I suppose perhaps I could have pointed out every single little thing, but sometimes people want a short and sweet sort of walkthrough.

Omg! I hate the second level it is soooo difficult :v
The whole damn game was difficult 😂
This game is much harder than Jeremy makes it look!
the 2nd lvl of this game use to piss me off so bad lol
This game was brutal!
i had this as a kid i found it to be great and very easy in my opinion

@SaikyoMog yeah, that's why i said "intentionally", it wasn't sarcastic, i meant what you wrote in the second paragraph
Great video what is it the game called
I just came here for the final battle.
Heel lastig dit. Niet normaal.
This game was ridiculously hard. oh man......I think I did a back flip when I beat the game.
I needed like thousands of tries to finish this stage
Then I felt like .. When I can finish this.. then I can accomplish ANYTHING!
Loved this game but hard game especially 2nd level
You can play this on your phone and save it! Go to the app store and download old 90s games story snes and it gives you all the games!
did you intentionally leave alla the power-ups behind?
Only one of the few games I never beat.
bolbi a recordar mi infancia recuerdo ke pasaba oras y oras jugando este juego

Bom jogo, saudades dessa época.
That 2nd stage was what made me stop playing this damn game lol.
I was just playing this game 2 days ago
What console is this? I had this game in Snes and Sega Genesis and the soundtrack was different between there
