British Airways cancelled our flight from SEA to LHR, with an automatic suggestion for another leg on the same day. It had two 4 1/2 hour layovers and landed us more than 5 hours later than the cancelled flight...After an hour on the phone I opted to fly the same leg the next day, loosing a day of our holiday. What bothers me a lot is BA would not allow us to extend our holiday by a day (our flight home) to make up for that lost day, without charging us. And.... going back to the phone call....during that 1 hour phone call, another leg offered to us had a 12 hour layover. They really did not want to help us get a new flight for the next day. They just throw something out there to see if people will take it. They really truly don't care, at least in a way I'd like them to care - by allowing us to get that lost day back (flight home) without charging us. There needs to be a law against this BS
Recently I flew by BA Premium Economy to America, it was so fantastic experience ever! I would recommend it for those who can’t afford to pay Business or First Class cabin or because you need an extra space for your legs on a long journey. You get a free glass of champagne and the seat so comfortable ❤❤❤❤❤
Sadly not. That said, with silver BA status you’re good to go for the galleries business lounge which isn’t too hard to get these days with the huge One World network. Flying premium economy will ensure a much quicker ascendancy to higher levels of status vs economy also…
Yeah it’s for sure really good! Check out the new review on the channel on PE, whilst it’s on the older product, I go into detail on what was some superb catering. See you in that one!
Sadly not however, with BA silver status you can enter the business class lounges. It’s not too hard to get due to their huge One World Alliance network also… Might do a video on that and how to boost status
It's still BA ie. unreliable, non functional customer service on the ground and massively overpriced for a product that's barely at industry average standards Best Avoided unless you like paying a fortune for a substandard, cost cut experience
Hmm wouldn’t say they’re the best but price does depend on route. I generally find them pretty good but sense you’ve had some rough experiences with them!

One last question. - About the reclining seats. They do go back a good amount. When the person in front of me reclines, will I feel like the back of their seat is in my face a little bit? I have heard some people hesitate to recline for fear of angering the person behind them. I say that because I wonder if I will annoy the person behind me, too.
It’s a really good question. They do indeed go back a long way but, with it being premium economy you get a lot more space (6-7 inches) more vs economy between you and the seat in front. Therefore, having someone recline in front isn’t as major issue. I do quite like booking the final row in the cabin however for that reason so I can recline the moment you want 😃
Ahhh yes, I’ve never tried the bucket design but do see a lot of merit in that. I have heard the slide down recline is a lot less popular mind than the traditional approach. It does looks smart though!
That’s a good question and usually something I film. BA typically always opt for these, I did their new business class on the 777 recently, might be worth checking that review out to make sure 😃
I just subscribed. I think it depends on people's need. Because I am traveling started searching for such information. Very good channel and i got a reply also.
Great question, the lounge is via status with British Airways or the One World Alliance. Top tier grants access to the first class lounges. With silver (second tier) this would give you access to the business class lounges also. Premium economy as standard sadly doesn’t give any perks in this regard…
This is great! Have they upgraded all their 777 fleet? I'm flying from LHR to Toronto and I hope they don't have their old 777 still in service, which quite frankly was horrible.
It was a big step up for sure! I’m not sure exactly where they are with the updates but my gut feel is that you’d be very unlucky to encounter one of the older look aircraft now. I’ve travelled on a few and yep, they looked very dated! All the best for your trip!
Without status, I’m not at all sure. I’d actually say potentially not as remember having to pay in business not that long ago with no status. That’s all prior to check in, at check in, always yes. They’ve tied all the seat selections and time you can do it into status quite heavily these days though sadly…
recently flew from LHR to SAN with my husband in prem eco. Food was terrific. Plus the guys who served us. I got even champagne from bix class. BA is really great these days. The menucard is back. Justin and me would always choose BA!
That’s a great insight, so good to hear a positive review! I find the food a huge step up from economy and well worth the extra often. Travelling with a partner is perfect as you can then just bag the outer seats!
I flew into LHR on an 8 hour flight with Premium. It was good value. Great recline which helps on a night flight. For all their many sins, this was a good flight. (I never check in luggage, just hand).
Yeah very much agree with that sentiment, the recline is worth the extra alone much of the time. Loads still to improve for BA across the board but for sure a decent hard product here which they can build a decent service around. How did you find the food offering on your flight? ✈️
Great question, it certainly can be as then you may well get pushed towards the promotional upgrade fares pre flight where as flying economy, they’d typically be trying to upsell you to the premium economy cabin. My recommendation - book premium economy and use points (avois) to upgrade to business. It’s a very good way of maximising £ value for your points…
@@Travelsbydreamer Thanks for your quick reply, as I need to book a flight for late August as soon as possible. Unfortunately, I have no points, yet. I would have to pay 1k more to get a business class seat. Are the premium economy and business class differences worth paying a thousand dollars more? Or perhaps I should book Premium economy and hope for an offer to upgrade.
@@quinnfitzpatrick7507 you’re very welcome. At $1k more it’s not toooo bad, you’ll get a decent amount of additional points and status with the seat booking it now. If you don’t have status also, the upgrade to business will give you better check in and lounge access which can be a real bonus. Closer to the time could get you a better deal but it’s always a risk… Also, point to everyone - lots of airlines have recently started selling promotional business upgrades close to the departure which don’t include the additional points, status or lounge access so bit of a watch out there. Most will still be happy to pay as the onboard experience is the most important bit but just something to be aware of :)
No worries! Sadly not on its own however, if you have Sapphire equivalent status with any of the One World carriers, that’ll get you access for yourself and a guest on the day. Hopefully you have this, if not there’s no lounge access included sadly.
