this video is just what i was looking for. i'm doing a red queen hairdo and makeup in mu cosmo class tomorrow and the only thing i plan to do different is i'm roller setting the hair for those red queen waves. maybe i'll record it and post it:) thanks so much
@ashtyn55 Yes, I pin all of the hair in the back.....I pin it in the middle so it forms the heart....just tuck it all in:) I usually brush my backcombing with the "styling brush" because it causes less breakage....I bleach my hair and it is fragile....when I get it wet it just stretches and snaps.....but you can try brushing the ends out and taking it out in the shower.....everybody does it different.
@Stacey4ever I also have curly hair, I flat ironed it before styling, with long hair you should be fine unless its down to your butt lol, It would be challenging but you could still pin the excess in the middle, creating a swirl with the hair and pinning it down , covering it with your crown .Having layers will also help.:) Good luck and let me know if you have anymore questions.
@fluffytuxedoo Get a really strong hairspray and spray them up after you are done.:) like Chi Helmet head... you can spray it onto your fingers and test how sticky it is.....the stickier the better.....
@POZzum11 1) depends on the condition of your hair.....I am a hairstylist and I bleach, color, blowdry, flatiron backcomb...all of the above to my hair and it is fine....granted I don't backcomb like this everyday...I ALWAYS have a "bump". Because I beat my hair up I have to use good products, deep conditioning, really good shampoo and conditioner. If you have super fine or super damaged hair and you did this all the time....it might not be very good for it:) For one night It should be ok:)
@lilmiss141 It might not be as big of a heart......depends on how thin... thin hair is always harder to cover and smooth....maybe you could practice with the top of your hair and see how it would come out...it might not work:(
@POZzum11 2) Do you mean how is get it straight in the end??? I brushed it out and it was fine:) I prefer to brush it with the "styling brush" because the bristles are soft.....If I take it out in the shower my wet hair stretches and breaks off....hope that helps:)
question....what happens to the back of the hair?? do you just pin it up with the rest?? and am i able to just jump in the shower and wash the back comb out?? or do i have to brush it out??
@Animalcrossing95 I have been back-combing my hair for 5 years....its almost second nature....I have relatively thick hair, but its not super thick.....maybe you can try the aid of product....one of my favs is the Big Sexy Hair "backcomb in a bottle"... or the Big Sexy hair "powder play". Be sure to connect the sections.....practice makes perfect...how this helps:)

You should never brush out back combing..serious damage! Just wash it out instead :)
