If you aren't happy with the rock color you settled on you could try a gradient? From that yellow pallet you started with to the one you ended up with, bottom up kind of gradient; it'd pull off that "yellow or orange?" feel as it'd be both!

it probably is simple enough to do in 2 episodes
Its literally just the overworld but inverted
Its also big enough where its probably better to use a seperate dimension for it, and use immersive portals
So use world painter on the original heightmap but inverted
Everywhere which is would be water, set to max height
Clean up all the weird height issues grazzy had on the overworld (in world painter)
      Once you did that
Texture it all in world painter too
There is basically only 1 biome in the depths, other than a couple locations, but the rocks are basically the same
      Then put in the lava
At this point, port it into minecraft
At this point, what you need to do is:
      fire temple
      Spirit temple
      Random mining temples
      Small ruins
      Monster encampments
      Weird rock formations
      Trees
      Thats it
So id say from that list, do 1/3 in the same episode as world painter
And 2/3 in the 2nd episode, and done
      So it is pretty easy
      HOWEVER
in more recent episodes, grazzy has discussed motivation issues
And the depths are simple, but tedious, with it being simple making it even more tedious
so with that, i doubt grazzy would do it
Id say it should be a project open to fans to help on, with occasional checking up on by an admin
Maybe only giving permissions to do stuff in 1 region at a time, and only moving on when the region is complete, to reduce griefing

so the reason the cliffs look kind of orange ish in that second clip you showed is because the sun was setting, and also the higher ones are a darker shade of yellow and go into more orangey colors. but at the ground level where link walks, the cliff colors, when the sun is directly above, they are definitely a sandy/yellow color. hope this helps :)

While everyone else has already noted that the palette definitely needs to be more leaning towards the oak from earlier or the palette used for gerudo town, and someone else pointed out the absence of the sword from the 8th heroine statue, I haven't seen anyone mention the fact that the great gerudo skeleton is missing its wings, which is one of the main differences between it and the hebra skeleton since both or just kinda whale skeleton shaped

Something potentially worth noting for color matching in the future:
I HIGHLY recommend checking out The Textures Resource. It's part of a larger project that hosts models, sprites, sounds, and textures from video games, and The Textures Resource has the texture files from some of the areas in Breath of the Wild. (Listed under the Wii U version, not the Switch version) They have Gerudo Town and general terrain textures, so checking those out and matching the colors with Minecraft blocks will get you as accurate of colors as possible, without having to guess from the frankly intense lighting in-game.

  • @lolli_popples
    @lolli_popples Рік тому +104

I definitely think a mixture of yellow and brown blocks would fit the region better, but I also think mixing in some copper might be a good idea if it’s possible, as pink-orange tones of that block match how it looks far away a bit better.
(Stripped jungle wood might be a good addition as well)
Although I feel like the tone of the rock changes between the snowy portion of the highlands and the more Southern portion of them. The Snowy portion is definitely redder than the Southern section.
Also changing the grass in the taobab region to path blocks might help with the color (unless you do biome customization to to change the color later, then it doesn’t really matter)

There’s another different rock texture in the valley leading to the yiga hideout that the orange color also works well for. The tops of the highlands (around gerudo summit) could be even more red. But the lower areas do have more of a sandy color that the other palette works better for.

Great series so far! As for the cliff faces, the bottom right parts of the gerudo cliffs (the region around the lomei labrytnth) are more yellowish, and the northwestern ones (the area around the yiga hideout) are more reddish orange, which may explain some of the confusion about which color to pick. The valley between the cliffs just northwest of the wasteland tower (where the quarry is) acts as a nice sort of barrier between the two cliff colors.

I cant' believe I missed that this was posted but then I haven't been on my computer. But I love the color you picked for the gerudo region and love that you added in the moldugas. This is still so exciting to watch. Building the town at an angle really added an extra layer of texture to the architecture.

One thing I will say is that for the sandstorm area near the great skeleton above it you should make some storm clouds using some gray glass and that will give the area a more dark feel like it dose in the game

Very interesting how you guys used empty mob spawners as barred windows in Gerudo Town around 18:29. I also absolutely adore how you made the south labyrinth! (Definitely gonna have to stea- I mean borrow some design elements there for a future build)

Hey Grazzy, I have a suggestion for the Wasteland Tower.
For the bottomless bog, you could find some kind of addon that adds brown water, and then put magma underneath the water's base.
    just a suggestion.

Your one of my new favorite youtubers lol. This mega project is amazing and i cannot wait to download it assuming i can figure it out. Even If I can't exactly PLAY it. But I cannot wait to see this project continue. Though of course you SHOULD NOT push yourself to finish it as fast as possibile. As ive said to friestm trying to finish things quickly will only destroy the quality. And a project like this I'm sure has been hard so make sure to take care of yourself.
Something I'm curious about is if the shrines will have insides. Once again, amazing job to everybody who is working on the project.

    Feedback:
Patricia is the wrong color. She is a blue sandseal. Unless im wrong then just a small fix.
The highlands might be orange due to the time of day but orange looks great too. If you have found a way to blend it into the desert then that would look good as well.
Since you used candles as bananas, make sure to put them on the trees in the faron region for consistency.

To address the color issue with the canyon walls, maybe have the regions up closer to the mountain and the forest were you find that Ganon Horse be reddish orangish brownish, and have the area down closer to the desert itself have the tan walls. Just an idea for a compromise that would help to better blend the transition from mountains to desert.

Grazzy, you should use a dispenser for guardian’s eye, and stuff it with TNT. Place some redstone dust down, add a pressure plate in front of it, pretend the redstone is the blood of other travelers by placing some character heads down, attach the redstone to a lever behind it, and it should connect. I’m not a redstone maniac, but I think redstone repeaters will make it repeat the same steps with the TNT, push the pressure plate down, and it could be able to shoot TNT at you! Make sure you’re in survival mode, though, so you can get defeated from it. However, the steps are probably easier said than done.

You could create a command block timer to activate a "blood moon" that re-spawns pigmen in every camp. The shrines would be a slog but could be made. Then there's just four dungeons, and one boss dungeon. Five boss fights and puzzles is a lot but its digestible.
