- Airbus A320-200 (CC-BAS), which operated flight LA4292 on Medellín- Cartagena route, had a problem with one of its nose gear wheels during takeoff. As a result, the plane immediately returned to the Medellin, where it landed at 3:12 PM local time. The commander declared an emergency, after which he received priority for landing and ground support from the firefighters. All passengers and crew members are in good health.
Yesterday afternoon, an Airbus A320-200 operating a LATAM Colombia flight LA4292 from Medellín to Cartagena had to return to the departure airport due to a landing gear issue. This resulted in it touching down with the front wheel rotated 90 degrees to the side, prompting a shower of sparks to emerge as it slowed on the runway.
The aircraft operating the flight was an Airbus A320-200 which bears the registration CC-BAS. This twinjet is 10 years old, having joined LATAM in November 2011. It can seat up to 175 passengers in an all-economy layout and is one of 12 A320s flown by LATAM Colombia.

Mentour Pilot has just released a very good video describing this problem; it's actually a whole series of different and unrelated problems, so for anybody interested in real-world engineering, his video is well worth a look.
I'm impressed that the landing legs themselves survived each emergency touchdown, and that the pilots were able to retain directional control via rudder and (differential) brakes.
It's rare for us to be able to learn so much in the world of aviation without having to pay the price in lost lives or destroyed aircraft.
Seems identical to the JetBlue a320 landing gear problem a few years back, as that was rotated wrong too
I know. Airbus thought they'd fixed it by retrofitting something to the A320's nose gear to stop it doing that again. How wrong were they?
Hydraulic issue
It was Рио-Негро airport, not АЭРОПОРТ ОЛАЙЯ ЭРРЕРА.
A known issue with the NLG Steering system on Airbus A320's with other similar incidents. Questions - 1) RAT (Ram Air Turbine) was depoyed. Did they have other mechanical / electrical issues? 2) Did not see the TR's (Thrust Reversers) deployed. Wonder if this was intentional?
AFAIK They shut engines completely - to prevent sucking debris in. So, no thrust reverse as well.
@@shurmurray Thank you for that information. That would explain why no thrust reversers -and- the deployment of the RAT.
They needed to burn fuel to reduce the weight of the aircraft to land safely. The landing gear was malfunctioning and they had to make an emergency landing, they burned off enough fuel to land with minimum hazards. The pilot did a great job, the passengers aboard this flight panicked. I don't think they should have informed the passengers of the problem and tried to land the plane safely. They caused a huge panic on board.
Как в 2005 году - ua-cam.com/video/m0uRXOagoZg/v-deo.html
NOT 737 ?
ok bye
