If the emergency Submaripper button really was meant to instantly kick the boat off Shellfire's back, would it hold on for damn five minutes or more? Project Shellfire wasn't meant for a close-distance fight. The whole armada of ships around it were the insurance that the Riders would never come close to the giant. It was never meant for fast or sudden movements, so why make it so hard to break? It's almost like Viggo didn't want it to break off in the end? As we know, the Shellfire fled once Submaripper went with the whirpool, so if the Ripper used the whirlpool just a little sooner and made its enemy flee, it would flee with the boat and the crew, into somewhere safe!

The clawmarks on the neck made me curious I saw a fic that when he was young a Monstrous Nightmare attacked him but it doesn't add up. The beastie has two hook like claws on the wing and he has three lines on his neck Looking at them closely, I was thinking It must've been some smaller dragon as the spacing between the claws wasn't that big either I think It was a Night Fury but since his tribe makes a living by hunting dragons, they managed to dispatch it before Viggo was killed and only left with that scar Just a lil theory I wanted to put out there :]
