    Thank you for the variety of hemming choices. I covet a cover stitch machine but that is a distant dream at the moment, having seen your video I’m more hopeful I can achieve a nice looking knit hem.

    Thanks, so helpful. I'd love a coverstitch but finances won't allow! The effect, especially with the reverse coverstitch, is so effective. A good video to refer to again and again.

    Love this! Can you get the lines from a flat felt stitch on a regular machine? That trick of the lead fabric is awrsome! Thanks!!!

    • @EllieandMacPatternsLLC
      @EllieandMacPatternsLLC  4 роки тому

      Yes! For a flat felled seam, you'd sew the two pieces right sides together, then grade the seam allowance on one side, fold longer side of the seam allowance WST, then topstitch down! Collette HQ has a great tutorial on this on their blog :)

    I love the video but I wish you had shown us how it turns out on the underside. Sometimes the stitch can look perfect on the top but disastrous at the bottom. So please consider flipping and showing the underbelly of what you've done.

    You used a juki serger for the lettuce hem, I’m in the market for a new serger and am wondering if the brother is able to do that? Very hard to choose. Thank you

    When doing a lettuce hem, how do you stop the thread from breaking? I had a bit of trouble with that last time I did a rolled lettuce hem.

    • @EllieandMacPatternsLLC
      @EllieandMacPatternsLLC  4 роки тому +1

      Great question! Have you played with the tension? If the thread is breaking, the tension on your machine might be a bit too high.

    I used my twin needle and it seem as though I did a plain straight stitch, it didn’t stretch at all

    • @EllieandMacPatternsLLC
      @EllieandMacPatternsLLC  3 роки тому

      Maybe try lengthening your stitch length to see if that gives it a bit more stretch?

    • @EllieandMacPatternsLLC

      You can get it on Amazon- amzn.to/4g4FsS7
      Or I think Joann stores carry them.

    First of all i am an experienced sewest with more than 50 years experience. I really liked the techniques you using. My only complaint was, you went too fast. For a beginners or some with a little more experience, it might have been hard to keep up. I liked your video otherwise.

      You can alter speed of video in you tube / run it at .75 then it is easier to follow - does not distort speech
