    #Ahsoka #StarWars
Ahsoka is the crux of the Star Wars saga-and many casual fans have never even heard of her. She has served a major role in all three eras of the Star Wars Saga without even appearing in any of the nine episodic films.
Not only did Ahsoka’s journey shape the events of the nine-part Skywalker Saga-but we think Ahsoka will heavily influence the upcoming Rey Skywalker trilogy as well-as I’ll explain a little later in the video.
Ahsoka hit the scene in the pre-empire era of the Saga. This period featured the return of the Sith, the beginning and end of the Clone Wars, the siege of Mandalore, and the rise and fall of Anakin Skywalker. [clip]
Ahsoka was introduced in the Clone Wars movie-and at first, she came off as an annoying kid sidekick [clip]. But over the years, she matured into a character whose wisdom surpassed her master’s in many ways. When they first introduced a padawan to Anakin Skywalker, a lot of fans-myself included-rejected the idea because it was too bold of an addition to canon. Interestingly enough, Ahsoka’s creator, Dave Filoni, thought the same thing [George Lucas clip].
But Ahsoka’s introduction only enriched the characters from the main Star Wars films-especially her master, Anakin Skywalker.
Over the years, Ahsoka, as Anakin's apprentice, showed a side of Anakin we’d never seen before. Instead of seeing him go from a whiny teenager [clip] to a brooding badass [clip], Ahsoka guided us through Anakin’s evolution. She was a brash, headstrong padawan, so Yoda assigned her to a brash, headstrong Jedi knight [cli[p].
And over the years, the two grew up together. Now, we see Anakin as a mature war hero passing wisdom on to an apprentice completely changes the way we view his character. Take this scene from Revenge of the Sith for example. [clip]
Before meeting Ahsoka, this scene made Anakin come off as whiny and entitled. But after seeing all of his triumphs in the Clone Wars and his assignment as a Jedi padawan-it’s understandable why he was so angry about not being given the rank of master.
Doug: If you ask me, it is outrageous and unfair. [clip]
Right, and you see, if not for Ahsoka and her role in the Clone Wars, we never would have seen this more mature side of Anakin. We’d always wonder how he went from a whiny serial killer to 2nd in command of the entire galaxy.
Anakin’s resentment for the Jedi was amplified when Ahsoka left the order. Ahsoka was framed for a bombing at the Jedi temple. [clip]
Anakin was one of the only people in Ahsoka’s corner when she was framed for this attack. He put his full faith in Ahsoka-and did all he could to prove her innocence. Meanwhile, the Jedi Council expelled her from the order. [clip]
Once Ahsoka’s name was cleared, she was welcomed back to the order, but she declined to return. Like Anakin, Ahsoka was disillusioned by the Jedi’s reckless acts, lack of faith, and commitment to government bureaucracy, rather than the force.
Ahsoka saw the very flaws that would lead to the extinction of the Jedi, and the rise of the Sith.
Through Ahsoka, we got a closer look at the corruption of the Republic and the Jedi Order. The same corruption that pushed Anakin to the dark side. This was a major turning point for not only Ahsoka and Anakin but for the entire of the saga.
If not for the injustice served upon Ahsoka, Anakin may have never become so disillusioned with the Jedi and the republic. He definitely wouldn't have been so quick to become angry toward the Jedi council. Palpatine manipulates this resentment perfectly [they asked you to spy on me].
Ahsoka was one of the only characters who truly understood and listened to Anakin. Had she never been pushed away-she may have been able to save Anakin from his fall to the dark side. She even knew about his love for Padme, but kept his secret-even from the audience [clip].
Doug: If ifs and buts were candy and nuts we’d all have a merry Christmas.
    Fair enough. Let’s talk Mandalorians.
Mandalorians have taken center stage in the Star Wars Galaxy in the Disney Plus era. [clip, Mando walking into bar in ep 1] But-Ahsoka has been instrumental in the history of Mandlore.

Why forget about the fans who supported it for 40ys, and run with the new ones created in the last 20 so you can rewrite the narrative? Making the cartoon crew important to the live action was a big mistake. That's like saying someone needs to read the comics to understand what's going on. You alienate a bigger portion of your audience for a smaller portion. The franchise fanbase is actually getting smaller each generation. Which could have been avoided.

Like the animated shows, Ahsoka adds a depth to all of Star Wars. You are right about how this showed Anakin’s fall build over the years. It fleshed out the beginning of the Rebel Alliance. And it pushed understandings of the force to a much deeper level. (E.g. “I’m the one in the middle.”)

Like are you serious… If you’re a fan of Star Wars, and you haven’t invested in Asoka’s storyline… That’s your loss. If you have literally watched no Star Wars since the sequels besides the Mandalorian like, can you really call yourself a Star Wars fan? Sorry for the essay, but I just have too much to say!
I totally agree that Ahsoka is the most pivotal character in the Star Wars saga! I have been a fan of her from the moment she was introduced. I was 14 when The Clone Wars came out, about the same age as Ahsoka at the time, so she was instantly someone I could relate to, particularly with her character flaws. I was also excited to see a girl Jedi in a leading role for the first time (this was before I had delved into the Expanded Universe). Also, because of her flaws, I was excited about the possibilities of her character arc. I had no idea that she would go this far, let alone become my favorite character in all of fiction!
After the end of Star Wars Rebels, I had a theory that Ahsoka eventually went to stay in the World Between Worlds to guard it from people who would try to misuse it. In doing so, she would be able to observe all of Star Wars history and accumulate knowledge and wisdom. Maybe she would even visit important people and events without interfering, or maybe she would interfere where she was meant to, like how Ezra was meant to save her from Darth Vader. In that way, she would be like the watcher or guardian angel of the entire Star Wars franchise! I admit it's a bit of a stretch, but we could still see something like that someday.
I agree that it would make sense for Ahsoka to give Rey guidance in the upcoming movies. In fact, before The Rise of Skywalker came out, I imagined (but did not expect) that she would appear in the movie in a role similar to the knight at the end of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, being an unnamed, old, wise character who briefly guided Rey to the final stage of her journey. I even thought about her giving Rey her white lightsabers to replace the Skywalker lightsaber after it broke in The Last Jedi. I knew that that wouldn't happen and fully expected her to have no role in the movie whatsoever, so I was overjoyed to hear her voice!

Always found it interesting and a little shocking that for such a beloved saga such as Star Wars that it really requires reading the books, watching the animation, and now the live-action series to truly "get it", the full story. More than any other grand story, operatic series that I can think of. I love, love that they are finally doing this with Asohka, Mandalorian, Kenobi, Solo, and even Boba Fett (to a point) to further expand on the Clone Wars/Rebels/Legends lore that has filled in so much of the blank space between the films. Keep it up, Padawan Filoni - you'll be on the Council in no time.

Luke was the biological child but Anakin was a true father figure to Ahsoka. She is the real heir apparent to Anakin's legacy. It's a hot take but look at it logically, he taught her everything where he was a simple hurdle for Luke/Leia. It's a prequel-era development but one that has obviously stuck. I'm all for it. We have more of her than we do of Luke and the character is one we can continue with now while the Luke/Leia era has passed, unfortunately. We can continue with her and the others of this post-2000 era because the actors haven't aged out. This is what Disney will continue to lean into (as shown already). I am sad to admit that the original trilogy is great lore but is also an anchor weighing down the franchise moving forward. It's been 40 years and the content has to move on. Respect the past and continue to build. Ahsoka is a way to strengthen that throughline as she bridges (potentially) all of it.

I agree with Wanderer25. The sequel trilogy is the problem. De-canonize it and stop wasting time trying to legitimize it and make it make sense. It doesn't! Make the Heir to the Empire Trilogy in whatever format necessary. Clearly, Disney doesn't have a story as good as it. If you're going to use Thrawn, use the whole original story and related characters! I like Ahsoka's character and think that Dave has done a great job.

Amazing pick for this day and age of Star Wars; you've got to give the credit to all the producers and creators. Let's just keep it up!

Ahsoka is what Rey should have been. She is the next Luke, but in being a very original character with a great background story. She could be the greatest character in Star Wars because we have watched her grow up into the Force user she is.

I love this perspective. We'll see Ahsoka more and more but I'd support mostly independent adventures with some code-red level team ups. She's too wise and connected to nature to not be a nomadic archetype.
My only problem is with episode 10,11,12 theories. If Rey were to rebuild an order - it could inevitably lead to another dark side retaliation. To prevent this - the order would need to be FAR less public, rigid, and entitled than ever. Something like a tribe, not a bureaucracy. And no more kid snatching.

She is masterfully portrait by Rosario Dawson, so I ain't mad. Of everything that Disney has ruined they have absolutely struck gold with Dawson and Pascal. Even in the most dull episodes their acting made it still worth watching, If Filoni can learn to stay away from macguffin chasing and keeps the emphasis on creatures who are critical to the storyline. I mean who didn't love the Rancor riding, Space whales(forgot their name) and the baby Pterodactyl looking things coming out of the ship at the end of S03E04(I believe) It's things like that which make the world believable imho.

If you think about it, a few different alien species age differently than humans, yodas species can live several hundred years, and the same could be said about ashokas species too if they wanted to. Maz Kanata is really old too so 70 years old in human years could be 20 in ashokas species relatively. 🤷‍♂️

I think it would be AMAZING if Disney did a trilogy of movies with Ahsoka and characters from Rebels, that occur parallel to the original trilogy. Similar to how the Siege of Mandalor in Clone Wars runs parallel to the events of Revenge of the Sith. The 3rd movie could show the mission where the many Bothan's die, to get the Alliance the information needed to destroy the second Death Star.

This is why characters like Ahsoka, Maul, R2 and even Starkiller who isn't canon anymore are absolutely great, they all have seen a lot, have changed a lot both from their own scheme and the bigger scheme of the story, not only all this but they also were written as badass as they should be.
Honestly been adoring what they've been doing with these new stories in Sw, the skywalker saga was disappointing for me so this all is a good way to smooth out those movies.
