Nice,If you would have gone down the hill from the Carp Lake Mine site and then towards Lake of the Clouds, you would have came to their old Cornish gravity stamp mill. It's tipped over now but everything is still there.Stamp heads, boiler, steam engine, big gears.Must have made quite a racket when it was running.Pretty cool to check out.
wow that peak stop around 13 min id Golden! fun to have a meet up/ looks like a great trip glad the weather improved, lots of great fall colors// whoa, stuck in the mud! interesting mine site, a little scary that stuff could collapse like that, could be a tunnel under you ...tons of good stuff thanks for taking us along!
Thanks!! I always enjoy reading your comments and yes I still need to catch up on watching videos. The guy was camping near us and he recognized my voice from our UA-cam videos. He came over to hang out with us at the campfire for about an hour.
Was this just a few days from the Lake Superior storms, where waves topped over 20' in height? Excellent work and captures uptrail71. : ) 20:44 is #Divine Nature to a T.
We just booked our Porcupine trip for this September and found you doing our research...great info...very comprehensive...thank you and cheers Colleen and Jonny...be sure to check us out too
Absolutely beautiful! The perfect fall trip. So glad to see your wife did this hike with you (but sorry the mud sucked her shoe off). We were in Munising that weekend - peak color and woke up to snow Sunday morning. Hike on!
Nice fall colors uptrail! I was there in late September. The colors were just starting back then, I'd love to see it now. Should have the video for that trip up soon but work has been stopping me from getting to that.
Nice shots, especially the second day! Too bad we have to go up those "butt burners" to get such great views. Thanks for sharing! Glad to see your "better half" with ya this time!!😎😎
Thanks! I used my old Sony handycam for this trip since I lost my new Sony video camera there night hiking back in July. Someone did find it and she returned the camera to the rangers station. I'm not sure if we will have enough footage for that trip to make a video.
I use the ultralight Zpacks Arc Haul. The shoes are Sketchers trail runners. It's a cheaper shoe for around $60. This is still the same pair of shoes that I used for my 213 miles of hiking on the SHT in May. You can find better shoes, but for now I'm still using them.
Beautiful fall colors all around
Another AWESOME video, thank you for sharing!
You got some absolutely awesome color up there. Looks beautiful. Enjoyed the vid
This is beautiful. Hoping to do this hike next summer.
That's a beautiful place and the colors are amazing. Nice trip except for the mud in your shoes. Lol 👍
Thanks Tony! It sure was muddy in a few areas.
Excellent vid as always
Thanks 71s. Love your videos.
Thanks!

beautiful
Love the colors out there. Great job on getting the fire going in wet conditions. Looked like a fun overnighter. 👍
Thanks Jason! It was a challenge to make a fire in the wet conditions. It sure was nice or otherwise Cathy had plans to jump in her hammock early.
We climbed north mirror lake trail this summer and about died! Lol. Very steep!!!
Wow those are some very beautiful views
That up hill to mirror lake can be brutal when it's over 90 deg out lol

Thanks! Wow that must have been something seeing waves that high. We didn't have any strong winds just some rain early in our hike on day 1.
The trail may have been a little boring for y'all, but any chance to get outdoors for a weekend isn't bad at all. Not a bad Fall trip at all!
I'll have to agree with you! This a a very beautiful area for a fall backpacking trip. Very few bugs made it even that much more enjoyable.
Nice area and great fall colors thanks for sharing!
It was a few days past peak colors, but still beautiful.
Mirrorlake is absolutely beautiful
Gorgeous hike. Those mine pits make me think of Isle Royale. Have you two camped IRNP?
We just booked our Porcupine trip for this September and found you doing our research...great info...very comprehensive...thank you and cheers Colleen and Jonny...be sure to check us out too
Thanks and have fun on your trip to the Porcupine Mountains!
btw we will be at the Porcupine Mountains this weekend backpacking on the southern end of the park.
Beautiful!!!! I miss this like crazy!

SM3 is one of my favorite sites. I hung from those exact trees this summer.
Nice! That is the perfect spot to hang a hammock next to Mirror Lake.
My wife loves the Raspberry Crumble
Quite jealous I am
Definitely Lake of the clouds view

Fred No pain no gain, well usually. : )
Another amazing video! I can't help but ask what video equipment are you using. I feel like I am there.

@@uptrail7169 Might be the "old" Sony, but sure is beautiful results. I get to make these U.P. hikes thanks to your video's showing me the way.
Hi, can you tell me what shoes you wear and also what pack you use?
Thanks,
Dave
Maybe Later (trail name)

Cuyahoga Mine. Cuyahoga is Native American, I think Miami or Wyandot, for crooked.
Not very good to lose a shoe on the trail
That trail is got to be extremely muddy
She wasn't very happy! LOl Overall the trail wasn't too bad except for a few places.
Tell your wife that she is easy on the eyes...
