Wish i lived in the UK I would come up and see you to sought my clubs out!! My wife is tearing out what left of her hair 😂😂😂. 60% sorted now... just got my Takomo 101T Irons.. still not happy BUT i think its the shafts... downside to online purchase Without hitting them. Finally sorted my woods.. mixed bag but REALLY happy 3 wood Wilson Launchpad (reg evenflow 55g shaft) Takomo Ignis 5 wood(50g reg RDXhazardous smoke)And Ping G425 (stock 65g ping shaft).
I agree. I love the idea of a cavity wedge with a milled face. It could be on the cards for 2024, I’m just hanging back abit atm, but got some more class fitting videos coming soon.
Very interesting and food for thought! As an old cripple, I already have graphite shafts in everything. If I win the lottery, I might go exotic graphite!!!
@@garymartingolfApologies if you already know this but the OEM shafts on your dream set Miura CB-501's were KBS before your pal switched them out for Recoil graphites 🫣
Great content again! Suggest you try instead of a wedge specific shaft, try the same shaft as your iron shaft but drop down a flex. I.E. if you play a X flex in your irons, try a S flex in your wedges.
just bought the new BGT RED ZNE loved them when i tested it, the KBS hi rev I have absolutely zero control over especially on fuller shots. The BGT was well worth the $$
I don’t doubt for one moment your findings, but,,,,, £300+ for a driver shaft upgrade, £1000+ for a full set of iron shaft upgrades, £170 for a wedge shaft upgrade, £300+ for a putter shaft upgrade. All that together with the original cost of the clubs ???? Where does it end (other than bankruptcy). How much now for a custom fit set of clubs £4k ? £5k ? I recently joined a society where the maximum expenditure on your full bag must not exceed £1000. That’s everything clubs, bag, and a dozen balls. I’ve never had so much fun playing golf in years !
I actually love that idea! If it’s a level playing field for everyone, that’s great! Im interested in all golf clubs, the best on a budget right up to the best fitted, I like to test and try all and share my opinion as they’ll always be a golfer looking to spend £150, and a golfer looking to spend whatever it takes to get the very best.
How come you guys in the Uk do all the great fitting and club reviews!? Love to get over there to play later this year. Also, we have Bandon which I think might be close to some of A couple of courses over there. And how bout that James doing the 100! Amazing!!
Love the BGT shafts. Have had them in staggered weights in my wedges for a little more than a year now, and they feel better than any other wedge shaft I've touched. Too bad they're nearly 200 quid a pop, eh?
I play Hi Rev 2.0 and love them Weirdly, you can only seem to get 115g from TaylorMade, same as Tour Issue I think too (at least here in Canada anyway). I also think Titleist charges extra for the Hi Rev 2.0 which is a bummer
So Gary, what would it roughly cost for sggt to supply a good brand driver head and a shaft that works with it?. It doesn't have to be the costliest shaft just one that works. Like you I'm a tight arse 😮.
I guess the prices would start from the retail price plus any additional upgrades with the fitting being free if you purchase. I think for us, we’ve got to sell our old clubs private to get us much back, and see enough gains to spend more than we’d like too 😃😩😂
@garymartingolf So a new driver from a retailer would cost around £500, so are we talking another couple of hundred pounds or more, and would it cost less at your mate Sam's?

When I switch wedges for the year, I take that heavy piece of junk DG out and put in a Nippon 115! Weighs in at 120 grams.wonderful feel and extremely accurate! Nippon has 3 different weights but I like the 115 (120) for feel and flight. DG is a very overrated shaft. Pretty good 50 years ago… 😊
Excellent video, the other shaft you should try is Nippon Modus 3 Wedge shaft, which in my opinion feels even better than the KBS.
Do they do a wedge specific shaft 😯😋

After that driver fitting, I’m definitely going to experiment abit with custom fitting. Got some good fitting content coming soon.
Great content recently Gary👍

Now you need to try some KBS shafts in your irons Gaz. I play them in my irons, and they are top quality. You might be surprised again!😂
Graphite is the way to go Gaz. Went from 125/130g X flex to 85g S graphite 2022 and will never look back. Graphite from D - LW
I have 90g bgt zne shafts in my 9i/pw (44/48 degree) miura tb901 and miura LH series 52/56/60 degree wedges. Love them
They are some kit. D9 you think they launch low and spiny with them shafts?
Love the fitting videos
There’s some great fittings coming out, hybrid and irons! Won’t be long!
This is a great video Gaz! Merry Christmas and keep up the good work. Beat James soon also!
Haha. Thank you. Merry Christmas
You and Dan should try Cleveland CBX wedges with steel and Project X Catalyst 80 Spinner graphite shaft, not exotic but great feel

This is the kind of content that I appreciate
Thank you 👌🏼
Been waiting for this since asking the question a while back, nice to watch cheers Gary!
Thanks matty
Really enjoying your in-depth reviews of shafts
Very interesting and food for thought! As an old cripple, I already have graphite shafts in everything. If I win the lottery, I might go exotic graphite!!!
I’d have to win the lottery to part £170 for a wedge shaft, but I’ll certainly be getting a steel exotic shaft in my next wedges.

I do love the Cleveland zipcore wedges Gaz and I should have a new 58° coming for Christmas 🙏🙏
They’re class! I definitely want them next! Dans smashed MG4’s and they came out best with club champion uk

Improved audio now. Good lad!
Well done gaz yea I think its over looked with wedges 😊
I love the RTX wedges. I replace Muira wedges with them. Extremely underrated imho.
Wow! They come out at the top of all the wedge tests I’ve seen for 2023 🔥
Gary I think Muira was out of my class. I guess I’m not good enough to play them. 😂

What us bgt shaft
I play RTX Zipcored wedges and I love them
I genuinely will be looking at these when my vokeys are ready for changing. They spin loads!
@@garymartingolf I think I may try those KBS shafts in mine.
Years ago I had ProjectX shafts in my wedges and it was like throwing darts. Every 3/4 knock down shot hopped, skipped, stopped.
I play Hi Rev 2.0 and love them

The KBS Rev 2.0 came as standard in my Hi Toe 3 wedges
Quality shaft 🔥

What was the graphite shaft
What were the name of the 3 wedge shafts tested
What was the name of the graphite shaft?
Im a converted PING chipR user from 20plus yards ...
Should a wedge shaft be purred?
Looked like way less effort with the graphite shaft and better strike.
The ball flight was unreal! I couldn’t create that with a normal shaft.
best wedge shaft nippon wedge flex 105/ 115/ 125 not the Modes
