i feel ashamed of myself when i hear about people convert to islam or muslim who their goal is to teach and spreading islam and myself i barely do the sunnah prayers and reading Quran
I don't get it. After Sheikh Uthman stated emphatically in the beginning of his talk that Dawah should be based on the Quran and Sunnah, why is he giving Dawah with the Bible? Did RasulUllah(pbuh) and the Sahabas give Dawah with the Bible? Was RasulUllah(pbuh) not displeased with Umar al Khattab when he saw him reading the Bible?
Is giving Dawah with the Bible not an INNOVATION?
I wish I was there in person to put these questions to the esteemed Sheikh.
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, ".. cite traditions from Banu Israel (corrupted torah & gospel), and there is no restriction on that; but he who deliberately forges a lie against me let him have his abode in the Hell.", in another narration he said "don't believe in it nor disbelieve.",
he ﷺ allowed us to cite from them even in normal circumstances, let alone in for dawah purposes!, but he definitely didn't encourage us to use philosophy, nor did he use it, thats what the shaykh is saying (the quran & sunnah is enough); we should stick to what he ﷺ used or allowed us to use, also philosophy has brought alot of harm to the aqidah of the ummah and the pious predecessors warned against it. here is an encompassing lecture on the matter. ua-cam.com/video/DQnBfnIZPLo/v-deo.html
Allah knowns best, and we ask him to show us the truth as it is.
Is what Goes in line With the Quran we Can accept
‘Convey [my teachings] to the people even if it were a single sentence, and tell others the stories of Bani Israel [which have been taught to you] for it is not sinful to do so. And whoever tells a lie on me intentionally, will surely take his place in the Jahannam.’
The Hadith in question clearly allows quoting historical (israely) narrations in general.
However, it is important to understand which of these narrations one is allowed to quote.
Imam Malik (rahimahullah) mentioned that those historical reports that are known to be false (by contradicting our texts for example) are not included in this Hadith.
(Fathul Bari, Hadith: 3461)
The famous Hadith Master and Quran commentator; Hafiz Ibn Kathir (rahimahullah) explains this issue sufficiently.
A summary of his discussion follows below:
There are basically three types of israely narrations;
1. Those which harmoniously discuss topics that are already found in sources of our Shari’ah. Since there is no contradiction, and these israeliyyat may perhaps provide further details to the topic, we are allowed to quote them.
2. Those Israeliyyat that actually contradict our Shari’ah. Undoubtedly such quotations are to be avoided, as advised by Imam Malik (rahimahullah).
3. Certain Israely narrations contain topics that are not really discussed in our sources.
These are also allowed, especially since they do not pertain to rulings of Shari’ah. Usually such reports discuss incidents of history.

Note: All of these references have clearly stated that Israeli reports should only be quoted as secondary narrations, for the purpose of adding to an established discussion.
One should bear in mind the directive of Nabi (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) whenever one encounters Israeli narrations that may have been deemed as suitable to quote;
‘Do not testify or deny the [narrations of] the People of the book. Rather say: we believe in whatever Allah has revealed.’
(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 4485)
Therefore, one should not develop conviction (yaqin) on these reports.

Muslims need Dawah now days. We dont have a single country on this earth where Sharia is established yet we don't feel any shame telling the west how this religion is the best.
