They don't actually articulate the things the say the way we do, something about their throat gives them the ability to manipulate sounds down to a p so they can not only produce all our English phonemes but basically any sound at all
To be precise, birds don't even have vocal cords. Their voice box sits even deeper than their throat. They create sound with a structure right where the windpipe splits into two branches. As for the "b" sound, we create it by building up pressure behind our lips and then suddenly releasing it. I guess birds do it in a similar way, just down in their windpipe.

@@sophisticatedPJs Imagine having an Australian accent and your bird ends up talking like a posh englishman
Fun fact: eclectus parrot, which Archie is, lives, among others, in northern Australia, so you can say this is the most correct accent he could have :D
Ha, okay, I thought I heard an Aussie accent too. I was guessing the owner was Australian but didn’t want to leave this video to go find out lol
Love that Archie actually has an accent 🤣
I absolutely love that you can hear Alex's voice in archie!
The fact that he kept giving the microphone kisses was adorable!
What a cutie! Archie has the BEST parent(s)!
1:54 the fact that I’m literally not ok at the moment because all my friends and family forgot my birthday. I just straight up busted into tears, he’s so pure and beautiful. Animals are blessings. I can’t describe how much comfort this video gave me :’)
happy birthday love
I love that Archie has an acccent. Also being called a good boy is so nice rn
Same though
Imagine the shock of the first person ever to realise some parrots can talk.
I bet they thought the bird had a human's spirit in it or something similar.
Ams_ “Holy crap, my bird’s been possessed by a demon!”
Wait until they realize that some non-parrot birds can talk too.
Not as shocked as the first person to hear a raven talk! They sound like real people!
@@JLawL A flock of Ravens is hunting me by trying to lure me into dark alleyways with the voices of my loved ones.
These birds are SOO adorable. :)
I love that he's mimicking your actions, you must treat him so sweetly!
