- In this video we got into a little DIY project for Hailey's closet/office, or as we call it her cloffice! She has quite the Dr. Martens collection, so we decided to make some floating shelves for them! This was one of the last projects we had on the list for this room, so keep an eye out next week for a full tour of the cloffice!
Hope you guys enjoy the video!

I legit blew on my phone after Bryce made the holes for the studs to clear the dust.
Bryce makes me feel like I could do this project for my closet ! ! They do look very good quality shelves !! Wowzerssss!! 😍
Love these! Just built some shelves in my closet, but they’re not nearly as cool as the floating ones tho. The docs fitting perfectly was satisfying, too. You should DIY more!
Thanks and props for putting in your own shelves! We love to DIY projects, might have to film them more often. 🤙🏼

Bryce should make more handy man videos love the floating shelf love the videos
Nice Work! I might just do this!
Handy man! We need that! We've got shoes hanging from our door right now. lol A shoe wall is much cooler!
👌👌👌😊 Great work.Great idea. It could be a great solution for my shoes 😃
Nice job Bryce! That little gap on the first one was the width of your circular saw blade kerf. Nothing you did wrong, you just had the holes set before the cut.
Awesome, Bryce should show us how he did the clothes rack?
What stain did you use? I'm having such a hard time finding the perfect color for our DIYs
those some real rad shelves
You guys are so cute and sweet!!! ❤️🥰
I'm just watching this thinking "god everything about this is so clever". Like using the dowels and the spacer blocks?
What stain did they use? I didn’t see a link or hear him mention It
I used Watco Danish Oil in the color Medium Walnut. First time using it, but it seems legit. The can says it stains/seals/protects all it one step 🤙🏼
What a good husband he is!
So random question, did you only put wood glue on the doweled part that was 2 inches? like its strong enough with just that alone to hold the weight of everything on the shelves or? as someone just dipping my feet into DIY, this was cool to see the process and they came out awesome my friend.
Hi! I'm no professional but he only wood glued the 2in parts so that he could dismantle them if they wanted. He could just slide them off and unscrew. Also because they're in the studs and how far into the second part the dowels go, they should be a okay! I personally don't trust floating shelves for heavier things but I'm sure a floating shelf would be strong enough for a book shelf etc :)
@@megandcronk Well when you spell it out that simple, it seems entirely obvious, so THANK YOU megan, that makes a lot of sense!! Just getting into the hobby of woodworking, so i appreciate someone explaining it in an easy way. they look so cool but my brain was like CAN IT REALLY HOLD THE WEIGHT. Appreciate you, and thank you :)
@@ThirdMonarch I actually didn’t end up using any glue because of how snug the 1/2in dowels fit in the 1/2in holes I drilled. They were in the 2in section so tight that I decided to sand the remaining part of the dowels down a little so the shelf portion would slide on/off easier.
@@bryceandhailey always something that comes up to add an extra step right? Thanks for explaining the process it was really cool to see. And they came out great. Hailey looked so happy, and that makes it all worth it I’m sure. Excited to see what y’all do next 🤙🏻
@@ThirdMonarch for sure and thanks! Yeah, it’s 100% worth it when she is stoked! I’m not an expert at woodworking, but love to help so if you have any questions on DIY projects feel free to DM me on Instagram and I can send little videos. Sometimes it’s easier to explain/understand that way over just messages. 🤙🏼
I have no tools but so much knowledge now
You guys are so crafty!!! Loved it!
More VW Bus videos! lol
Hi
Hi!
first
I feel like there was a much easier way to do this lol
I watched a lot of how to videos on floating shelves and there’s so many ways! I thought this way was pretty easy + went this route because it was really inexpensive 👌🏼
