it's ridiculous how small this looks when you're used to seeing the proper metal working mills but also amazing how much you can do with a small machine like that and how accessable it has become with the software and relatively cheap hardware. you always show amazing results.

Have you tried extruded acrylic material instead of casted? It has very little tolerances in thickness (about 0.1mm max).
Casted material has about 10% tolerance in the thickness.
And if you have chips on your tool while drilling, it can help to speed up your Z speed or lowering the rpm.
And by the way, I really like your machining videos.

Extruded is tricky, I've done it a couple times when I've been sent incorrect material before. It really hates smaller tools as it doesn't form a nice chip. The machined finishes aren't as good either and the material has a lot of stress in it, so thicker parts can warp after cutting :/

I own a Tower 900 from Tt and wondered where such distro plate/res things could go. Personally I'm still more of a fan of tube res, old school and less failure prone... Just like being on the safe side.
Non the less I figured the best way to put a custom distro plate would be by replacing the motherboard tray and entire middle section, that seperates the front chamber with the back one, because in the back you got the massive radiators and in the front you got all your components. The distro plate would sit right inbetween. You would have to cut out holes for the cables and such, but that would be the only good spot in my case, pun intended.
I wonder what such a custom plate would cost hahaha. Probably nothing for someone who's scraping money just to make a regular custom loop.

it's too bad i can't ask you to fix my distro case for me... i accidentally broke the barrowch rhopilema case when putting fittings into it for a leak test and radiator flush and now the entire case is no good. sucks pretty bad because i had a whole build planned around it and i have to scrap it and go with something else.

Great channel , subbed . Just a suggestion, I wish you’d have less music and more commentary. Discuss things like feed rates and cutting depth your using each pass , bits in use , air pressure etc .Maybe this stuffs top secret though ?

I have to wonder how many people have come across this channel and then gone straight to finding out how much CNC machines cost.
I just have a couple questions. Why did you conventional mill with the threadmill @5:06 and @9:56 , but climb milled @8:21? Did one give a better finish than the other since it looked like @9:56 you were just chasing the threads or taking a finishing pass?

Can you make a video on how to create a drawing from design? I've created a file for a distribution plate but local CNC's here require the drawings and I'm not sure how to make one.
You just need to label the dimensions of every feature. Find a photo of one and copy it the best you can with your design. Also must design software has built in functionality to create a print from an existing model, solidworks for example makes it really easy.

its funny that hes peck drilling and full depth thread milling
That be an annoying quirk with the post processor for my machine. I'd much prefer to do quick pecks just to break the chip, however when I use that operation it fails to retract properly and instead ploughs through the material.

** ** I’m thinking conversational but honestly I’m just too inexperienced still in that area to make changes properly. It’s a real pain as I can’t plunge all the way through in one go as the chips are too long and stringy, they wrap around the bit and cause issues maybe 20 holes in or so.
@@bittech1 yeah that's the problem when working with soft materials they plastisize on the tool, we run airlines next to the tools to blow chip/wire free. and there should definitely be a retract depth and feed as part of the macro in your software the settings would include a retract amount, a feed/rapid retract rate, and a peck depth

Can you please lower the volume of the music in your montages? Please? Or raise your speaking level audio so that there's some reasonable balance to be had? What you have to say is functional content, and I'd like to be able to hear that. Your choice of music wouldn't be mine under ANY circumstances, but that's neither here nor there - it's simply too damned loud if the video volume is set high enough to hear you speaking.
How do ppl even like this... it’s just a 10min video of an automated machine milling two large distro plates. And he doesn’t even show you where it’s being installed or a finished setup.... IT’S B-O-O-ORING. When cnc machines become more common and ppl start getting one to play with this channel is dunzo. 😏
