- AudioModern have just released their new plugin Loopmix and I've actually had hands on it for the past couple of months as I've been creating the tutorial videos for it. Those are live on the AudioModern channel now but I thought I'd take you through how I use Loopmix to create unique percussion and chop up vocals for my tracks.

Great video for a great plugin/iOS app! I realized I can do away with any conventional "virtual drum machine" apps. (Bram Bros Hammerhead is my most used drum app, highly recommend). At last, I found something that fits perfectly in my workflow for break core kinda beats... One's imagination is the limit IMO. Congratulations to Audiomodern for developing this wonderful plugin.
You can use poly so loops don’t cut each other off, but it still can randomly mute parts of the individual tracks
twisted toughts did this for reaktor more than 10 years ago, it's called ultraloop

Great view but I'll have to download the demo because I have questions such as...
When does the slicing occur and are the length of the slices on a per track basis? It looks like some of your slices are different sizes on the same track - were adjacent slices linked occasionally?
I guess your loops need to be quantized very well so that you have clean slices and avoid artifacts or is there Ableton style warping going on? And finally can you determine the fade-in fade out of the slices? Thanks.
You are best to download the trial and give it a go but basically when the loop is loaded in it is split into 8ths. It'll load 2 bars of the loop and if the loop is longer than that then it'll play the first 2 bars, then the second 2 bars, then third, etc. Slices are the same for all the loops however apart from the sequencer you can adjust the grid size for the other tabs. No fade in or fade on there currently but Audio Modern are always quite happy for suggestions of new features :)

This is great! Bought it yesterday and played around with it for an hour or so. What I can't get my head around is how to expand the view. I mostly use loops sampled from old records, and these are often 8 or 16 bars. What happens is I am not able to figure out how to see the whole loop - it just plays through 4 bars, making editing the slices a chore. Another issue that comes with this is when I click, say, the first slice in the first 4 bars to remove it in Sequencer, it also removes the first slice in the subsequent 4 bars. Hard to explain, sorry!
Maybe this can be resolved by changing to 1/16 and then adjust the speed to half-time🤔 Will test tonight!
Loopmix is a 4 Bars Tool. Hope they will expand it with a update to 8 or 16 bars.

Can you not drag from ableton arrange?
This plugin is extremely confusing to use. it keeps generating sound at random, unwanted times and it's completely ignoring all midi files that I exported from it and dropped into ableton. I only want sound to play specifically where the actual midi file is at in my project. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Just create all your loops first in loopmix then create 8 audio tracks change the input to loopmix 1-8 record enable all tracks and record the whole beat then go back edit the audio.
How can you change fonts?
The vocal loop example was uninspiring.
