UK coastal erosion: Gov't must choose which communities to save

- With a long and well-populated coastline, the United Kingdom is at serious risk from climate change. Flooding and storm damage could make many areas uninhabitable by 2050.
The government is planning to spend $7bn to protect the coast.
But experts say hard decisions are needed about which areas are to be saved and which are to be surrendered to the sea.

Governments and councils should not be sucked into spending money trying to save what are always very valuable pieces of privately owned real estate!
Sad, tragic and all but unfortunately some of these people will need to relocate to safer, more stable land a bit away from the coast.
If it were on the Brazilian coast it would be "Effect of Deforestation", but as it is in England it is the "Greenhouse Effect", naturally caused by the burning of coal in China, fires in the Amazon Forest, etc..
Ocean views from every room in fact ocean waves in every room indoor pool everywhere . Poor rich people.
This looks like the backdrop of one of the Agatha Christy movies with Miss. Marple played by Joan Hickson.
A natural progression
Exactly.
The propaganda outlets trying to create the next scare tactic, as a distraction from real world events - like the trucker convoys...
So are you saying not to try to prevent natural disasters? In that case remove all dams and protections in place.
@@vllncor I get what your saying, I really do (though a dam would make no difference in this context?!? wtf). But coastal erosion has been happening for millennia. Anyone (like me) that had to study it in gcse geography knows that there are many factors involved in it. Protect one piece of coastline and see what happens down the coast. Just labelling this as climate change is sloppy journalism
@@vllncor I don't know where you live but dams are being put in place where I live for electrical power and to make lower lands more livable, has nothing to do with nature! So if entering those dams happened to burst sucks to be you for living in a place such as the lower lands!
These are the choices decades ago. Now the price comes due.
Here in America they’ll just tell people to suck it up and move regardless if they can afford it or not. Homelessness is gonna be a far bigger issue here in the US in the coming years.
Nothing lasts for ever. So is the earth. Man should carry on without being worried. Maintaining status quo is beyond the power of humanity.
Would you write this comment again in a closed garage with an ice vehicle running or with an electric vehicle running?
These areas reminded me of the British crime show I watched, Broadchurch.
if people don't wan't to build sea defences then they can't expect others to do the job for them,
A savage storm swept the northern islands of Scotland.....when it was over. It had uncovered an old English settlement. All preserved.
English settlement on a northern Scottish isle, wot? Maybe it was Pictish?

I agree with you, people who follow my analysis have made over 3000% in profit.it's about following instructions always.l have been talking about SP 500 in my videos for quite some time now.The market has always volatile and it is in my own opinion that the market will remain favorable if you understand what you are up against.Due to the FED news market it a bit uncertain so will need to wait certain levels to hit in other to open new positions.I have told my followers to take 50% profit here and rebuy when the market gives opportunity. The 33k support and 40k resistance levels are important to watch for the next action.
Tough decision. Find the wealthiest, kick everyone else out...

The more we warm the planet the more it will rain. The more it rains the softer the ground gets, and the more it will erode. We must stop capitalism being first and place some real values on the planet and tne balance needed to sustain life.

there will be a time when the earth looks different than today

thats just nature not climate change, we had the 12 apostles in Australia now ther are only 8 left from natural erosion.
