this band has a perfect balance between every song being different and every song sounding the same. I don't know how to describe it. with most bands, you either cant tell half their songs apart or can't tell they are by the same musician(s). this band makes music that is similar but not the same and that is so satisfying.

I can't explain it but this music feels like... *me.* I've never heard music from an artist that feels so reflective of my thoughts and feelings. I *know* this pain, I know the experiences that made you and your songs. I know what they're about. Abstract, fuzzy disassociation... pain... I've always wanted to make music too, actually. But discovering you an hour ago was completely shocking to me. Because you are what I would be if I made music. Literally. I have doodles of album covers that look so similar to yours, I completely understand the artistic choices because it's what I would do. Like an alternative version of me. I've always felt I could never truly relate to anyone, but this music? I get it. 7 billion people huh. Yeah, I guess *someone* would think the same way I do, have had similar experiences... but to actually see that... you get it. I guess I gotta support you, man! And your group. Wow I just... that's insane. I wanna give some constructive advice tho. Cause I think you think like me. Your stuff is very honest and is beautiful in that way. But be careful with that. It's easy to write when you're emotionally numb or confused or distraught or working something out, ya know? But people don't listen to songs to go through a journey with you, they like one main emotion per song. Easy listening. They don't wanna be confused unless the focus IS a moment of confusion(but even then is it frustration at it or disappointment, etc). That way when they feel that way your song comes up with other songs/bands that express the same feeling. When I write I pick a single moment and expand on what I felt at that moment. It's a strategy the Beatles used too(think Hey Jude or Strawberry Fields). Even really emotionally intense songs(think Whatsername by Green Day or Mama by MCR) usually have one main moment or thought the song is based on. Your brain has a lot of great stuff in it, but songs are only a few minutes. So make em memorable! I think that's why your song Slingshot did really well. That one moment "Oh my god, I hope you're falling apart" that was repeated was sung with a lot of feeling and really struck an emotional chord with people. Def did for me, cause that's how I found you lol. Sorry if this is unwanted I just really related to your songs and want you to succeed! And you got yourself a new listener mate :)
Hey! Thanks so much for the thoughtful message. Really happy you like our stuff and can relate to it so well. Definitely appreciate the advice were always trying to get better at writing! I will say though that when it comes to writing songs we're not really thinking too much about how it'll be recieved and more just what we think will serve the song best. I totally agree though, slingshot came from a pretty raw place and I think it shows in the performance. Personally it's one of my favorite vocals, and I'd love to do more expressive performances like that on future stuff!
Good Kid Oh yeah for sure, I think your songs are amazingly crafted. Props to your team cause they're all really great pieces! I think with that kind of creative and artistic skill you could turn pretty much anything into a great song. And that's straight up gold! That's rare af! You deserve some more attention goddammit!!! So I guess I'm saying don't hold back with the content of your songs. Be bold, be emotional, cause you sure as hell will be able to pull it off >:) So have fun making em! There's a reason you like those vocals and they're also a fan favorite. When you're passionate about what you make, your audience can tell, and they feel it too. I think you can really make it big. I *know* this pain, I know the experiences that made you and your songs. I know what they're about. Abstract, fuzzy disassociation... pain... I've always wanted to make music too, actually. But discovering you an hour ago was completely shocking to me. Because you are what I would be if I made music. Literally. I have doodles of album covers that look so similar to yours, I completely understand the artistic choices because it's what I would do. Like an alternative version of me. I've always felt I could never truly relate to anyone, but this music? I get it. 7 billion people huh. Yeah, I guess *someone* would think the same way I do, have had similar experiences... but to actually see that... you get it. I guess I gotta support you, man! And your group. Wow I just... that's insane.
I wanna give some constructive advice tho. Cause I think you think like me.
Your stuff is very honest and is beautiful in that way. But be careful with that. It's easy to write when you're emotionally numb or confused or distraught or working something out, ya know? But people don't listen to songs to go through a journey with you, they like one main emotion per song. Easy listening. They don't wanna be confused unless the focus IS a moment of confusion(but even then is it frustration at it or disappointment, etc). That way when they feel that way your song comes up with other songs/bands that express the same feeling. When I write I pick a single moment and expand on what I felt at that moment. It's a strategy the Beatles used too(think Hey Jude or Strawberry Fields). Even really emotionally intense songs(think Whatsername by Green Day or Mama by MCR) usually have one main moment or thought the song is based on.
Your brain has a lot of great stuff in it, but songs are only a few minutes. So make em memorable! I think that's why your song Slingshot did really well. That one moment "Oh my god, I hope you're falling apart" that was repeated was sung with a lot of feeling and really struck an emotional chord with people. Def did for me, cause that's how I found you lol.

Hey! Thanks so much for the thoughtful message. Really happy you like our stuff and can relate to it so well. Definitely appreciate the advice were always trying to get better at writing! I will say though that when it comes to writing songs we're not really thinking too much about how it'll be recieved and more just what we think will serve the song best. I totally agree though, slingshot came from a pretty raw place and I think it shows in the performance. Personally it's one of my favorite vocals, and I'd love to do more expressive performances like that on future stuff!
Good Kid Oh yeah for sure, I think your songs are amazingly crafted. Props to your team cause they're all really great pieces! I think with that kind of creative and artistic skill you could turn pretty much anything into a great song. And that's straight up gold! That's rare af! You deserve some more attention goddammit!!!
So I guess I'm saying don't hold back with the content of your songs. Be bold, be emotional, cause you sure as hell will be able to pull it off >:) So have fun making em!
There's a reason you like those vocals and they're also a fan favorite. When you're passionate about what you make, your audience can tell, and they feel it too.
