X ray is good for party and lately for season so you can find the items you need to get your weekly and dailies done. A cool feature I found was in Cancel the Autopsy. I LOVE using the X-ray rig for its utility and info it brings. It's great for starting out, but admittedly, it is the worst of the bunch...but it does have some advantages. My favorite being that since it recharges your battery when using it and it's short 40-ish second cooldown(so you could just spam it for infinite battery life), you never need to grab batteries or rig recharges so it clears up your inventory up a bit. It helps pinpoint enemies if you're not sure where they are...like the ambushers. Or if an enemy is on a different floor, turning towards, or away from you. PLUS you can use it while hiding, so it's like the "invisible" amp before it got nerfed. Lastly it can detect keys inside bodies without needing to look at the TV's or tell some from a distance; mostly useful in the new "Reborn" trial where you need to remember vs the HuD telling you. That being said, it's still the worst rig since it doesn't really save you in clutch moments or makes certain scenarios easier. Hopfully one day it'll be buffed like a slightly bigger range and, pinging the enemies like how the barricade does, or it keeps stuff(not enemies) highlighted for 4-ish seconds after it's use
Yup you summarised everything greatly, One buff that could make Xray up there with the rest of the rigs is if staring at an enemies eyes blinds them in the spot (Stuns them at their location) , and only if you are making eye contact with them.
@Bluriate As much as a stun upgrade would make it super good, I kinda like it being a tactical rig, like the barricade, vs a "lethal" rig, like the stun. I think its strength SHOULD be its strength, and not just ok at its job; hence the suggested buffs I proposed. I could however see it stunning the night vision guy if you stare at each other like how he's blinded in bright rooms. But that's more of a cute "tee hee did you know..." "buff".
@@fire_bb8806 I see, I think my buff wouldnt necessarily make it "lethal" due to you only being able to stun one of them while staring at their eyes, you could be getting chased by 2 all that we know, and maybe have it do that only when in range of the xray, Kinda like shining a flashlight in their eyes to stall them, so you can only walk backwards or else they'll still chase you. But Ofc I'd be fine with just a range buff so its purpose actually is viable.
Always make sure the X-Ray guy gets the master key when you pick it up but at least they can spot a rig recharger and then open the locked container and give the rig recharger to a healer or stunner. X-Ray is only really useful to spot objectives but that gets entirely eliminated when all objectives either have a waypoint(like wires or tubes showing the direction) or the objectives are always in the same rooms/areas like the bleach bottles in feed the children. But seriously it needs a bunch of buffs.
I think a huge buff it could get is not only an increased range and duration, but objects marked by the X ray could be highlighted into what they are (key, bottle, medicine, batteries/recharger, etc) and to make it balanced for objectives, maybe just have it appear as a generic objective icon instead of what it truly is
How to fix the Xray rig in my opinion: 1.) Get rid of pinging enemies entirely as I've always thought that's stupid. It'll also give an incredibly useful ability to xray and xray alone. 2.) Buff the distance and duration of the xray rig while in use. Makes the ability more useful overall. 3.) Make it so the rig cooldown begins as soon as you begin using the ability instead of when it ends. Small change but makes it so you can use it more often. 4.) Make the share Intel upgrade a bit more visible for teammates since as it stands now, I feel like it can be hard to see. 5.) Remove the battery charge from stun and buff the battery charging of xray. Gives the xray a utility that stun frankly has no business having on top of everything else it can do. 6.) Add the faster cooldown upgrade as basekit, and instead, replace the upgrade with a "flashbang" upgrade. It allows you to emit a bright flash of light from your night vision goggles while using xray which briefly stuns enemies within a short distance in front of you in exchange for some of your night vision battery and the immediate end of your xray use. This gives the xray some defensive capability while not completely being out of touch with its intended use. Those would be my suggestions for bringing xray more up to par with other rigs. What do you think?
@@JackRabbittm I was thinking something like your 6th point and 4 I agree with, I kinda had an idea for xray to be toggled on but have it be the same range as it is in the video (it got doubled as a buff) so you can see through walls and stuff for as long as you want but seeing things from a distance is a lot harder, as soon as you untoggle the cooldown hits, which isn't even that long

I use x-ray because nobody else does so it is fun to be different and besides, it is also a cool dynamic if everyone has their own rig. It is good to farm guarantined good grades, poster hunting if everyone is rushing objectives, and finding good items on higher difficulties. Otherwise stun is just better because you still can recharge your batteries and blow up a lot of traps for good grades. If x ray has better range and perhaps has extra abilities such as telling the right boxes in toy factory levels (without having to give boxes a purple glow or look at the screens), it can be a lot better and hold it's own compared to the other rig.
X-ray rig definitely needs some more tuning. Especially considering how overturned both stun and healing rig are in comparison. Perhaps giving better range, reduced battery drain or interaction speed on scans of enemies/ key objectives maybe even increased stun time on scanned enemies could help, as well as making the x-ray rig less strenuous on the eyes. However, so long as many of the offensive rigs stay as overtuned as they are I find it unlikely that x-ray will ever be common place or "meta". Plus having new maps that are already so open like the docks on poison the medicine, make it not as needed since you can find most of what you need at a glance with the main exception being towards the end when Franco tends to camp the stairs on the boat and the audio cues to hear him coming are hard to hear sometimes.
I used X-Ray when I started because it’s a ton of fun, but the issue mainly stems from Stun and Blind. Stun is too good in its stun time, regen battery/stam, and its versatility. Blind has a waaaaay longer stun time, but it requires set up which isn’t great in the middle of a chase X-Ray could use a buff, but it still isn’t going to be great compared to stun/blind until they get nerfed and the enemies become bigger threats
If enemies become more of a threat Xray would just suffer more, maybe a cool change would be wherever your aim dot is, would actually blind (stun) an enemy as long as you're constantly looking at them
As an X ray user it helps so much when you need a specific item or want to see how close the enemies are without peaking. Also the recharge has helped me so much
I just wish I could see the enemies from a lot further so I could plan out routes and just never get noticed at the sacrifice of longer trial time. I feel like I've summoned quite a few xray mains, happy to see that 🫡
xray has always been my favorite rig, and i’ve used it ever since i first started playing trials. but i found that stun was especially helpful for countdown!
the only reason I ever used Xray rig was when it was part of a weekly challenge, i hadn't even bothered to unlock it yet lol, the low cooldown time is pretty nice though
It would be a good buff if X-ray also acted like a lockpicking tool. Auto-unlocking a maximum of two nearby locked containers or disarming doortraps per use. This would make the rig more useful for teams. I also feel like Stun and Blind overshadow it in a bad way. A lot of people don't realize this but Blind is so much more powerful than stun if you can spare a few seconds to place down a mine. Not only does Blind still stun enemies for a long time, it also blinds them. You can place a mine down and do an objective knowing you are safe. I think Stun should be more situational and require more precision making it a risk versus reward situation and I think Blind should actually be reworked slightly. Instead of Blind rig stunning enemies, have it just stagger them for a second. Make the cloud expand much farther. You can make it a more dynamic cloud by having invisible entities representing the cloud walk away from the explosion giving the effect that the cloud is spreading. It would look like the cloud would move through open doors and broken windows in an interesting effect. Enemies would be blind if they are in the cloud making it more of a rig for map control. I think to make stun more risky they should decrease the cooldown on it slightly and make it so the farther away an enemy is from the blast the quicker the effects wear off. Also if you, yourself are in the blast range you also get a blinded effect and temporary ringing in your ears. This will make players have to consider if it's really worth slamming a stun in the monsters face in a tight space.
I think people know blind is better than stun its just when in a chase, deployment time is too long, its amazing for objectives whereas stun does good in both of those aspects. Xray should definitely get some sort of buff tho fr cool ideas though
before launch I used to main x-ray rig because it was actually a useful x-ray rig, you could see the enemies through walls all over you, stayed longer, and the recharge was the same as other rigs but was worth the wait because the x-ray was a great way to stealth around and helps you know whats in the next room before you got in. now its just a newb rig, like you genuinely are wasting space by using it now. i hope they buff it because this thing is just garbage
@@cubical1510 You're telling me I missed out on xrays prime 🥲 Yeah nowadays its a filler rig, it just exists. They just need to buff the range fr idc about not seeing objects just let me see the enemies from way further 😫
if anything xray is good for "farming" grade. lowest cooldown in the game, you can spam it, plus find consumeable items (batteries, adrenaline etc) or even bottles / bricks easily. Other than that its just way too undertune compared to others. If anything maybe its cool to find keys easily in bodies, for stuff like kill the snitch and cancel the autopsy, but very underwhelming compared to stun, blind or heal tbf
I find stun very boring so I purposefully don’t run it unless I’m either speed running solo or I’m in a group, I’ve been playing around with barricade and X-RAY because they’re arguably the most useless, just to challenge myself. Barricade can actually be quite good and satisfying in specific situations, whereas you’re basically playing with no rig if you’re using X-Ray most of the time lol
I only use X-ray when I play with friends. I always have the lock breaker amp with me while having X-ray because it is easy for me to find bricks to unlock containers mostly for finding rig chargers. My team usually has 2 or 3 stunner. It makes the game pretty easy in that case.
@@Bluriate I dont go full stealth I've now reached a point where whenever I can I go apeshit, but yes stealth sessions are often forced and xray is sweet there
@@ledbychaos I mean I wish I or others could just fully play stealth when we want to, Xray rig would be perf for that but the range just makes it where you get jumpscared by time enemy skeleton appears 😅 I mainly play apemode myself too, I suppose running around with xray helps combat the short range
Recently the x-ray rig has some great uses in a group of 4 in the new escalation game mode, They can find posters, rats, and TVS to get the second upgrade, if they can get a buile going, it can get very OP and stuff, plus its super cooldown timer really works I had to do a daily task involve using the x-ray, so i picked it when i playing thr new game mode, and made a build centered using the key master AMP, becoming a lock picking master and gathering resources for my team to use and stuff

@@Bluriate the rats are insanely hard to get on certain maps, Also lock picking build would be alot stronger if i could freely chose the AMP, like "key master" "noise reduction" and "backpack" freely running around without making noise, being able to carry more, and pop open lock instantly.
I only use the worst rig in the game to challenge myself. Having X-Ray only helps with finding posters on certain maps like Release The Prisoners, but even then it’s a waste to not run a better rig. It can be useful for new players who are not familiar with the enemies yet, I suppose. 😅
Definitely late to the party, but I am a user of the X-ray! For me, it's because I LOVE information, I FIEND FOR IT! I can quickly find supplies I need, I know where danger is pretty much at all times. I know where I can and cannot hide. At least to me it lets me make rather calculated moves, I can see which way an enemy faces without exposing myself so I'm always one step ahead. And in knowing where everything is, I am able to support the team by communicating which items are where! That way no one uses lockpicks on what may be "useless" locks, and knows there's medical/utility somewhere ahead of time! Admittedly I've been thinking about trying barricade, because area denial seems fun.
I agree with wanting to know all intel but at the time of the video the range was very little so you was able to only see the expops at arms length, now it feels good for doing everything you have said.
I used x-ray rig in Eliminate the Past on psycho solo, to find all the boxes. XD Also like using it when I play with friends, if not it then Blind or Barricade. usually Stun when solo.
If they increase the range significantly, and make certain items glow a certain color then it could be good. Like main objectives glow yellow for example.
@@jazzyfool3597 Yeah I've been enjoying barricade rig too after using it a few more times, with xray the range it has for enemies makes it hard to be strategic i find so I wont ever touch it really

I personally used the xray at the beginning of the game because i was scared of enemies and being able to see them trough walls was good i think? I still believe its not that good but surely better than heal.
I understand the sentiment, but *to be fair*: Franco Barbi puts you in situations where kiting without getting hit would be nearly impossible, due to his shotgun. At that point, stun is definitely very very helpful and I wouldn’t consider it a “cheap” defense against Franco specifically.
@@sinner2133 use stealth. his shotgun only does 2 bars point-blank on psychosurgery. most of the time it doesn't even do 1. the stun rig is cheap by every metric. chuck a sparky thing on the ground--nowhere near the ex-pop--and they get stunned for long enough to pick everyone up. it really trivialises the game and zaps a lot of the tension you get from pure kiting/dodging.

Plus having new maps that are already so open like the docks on poison the medicine, make it not as needed since you can find most of what you need at a glance with the main exception being towards the end when Franco tends to camp the stairs on the boat and the audio cues to hear him coming are hard to hear sometimes.
Yeah I dont ever see xray getting changed sadly, good suggestions for it tho
I used X-Ray when I started because it’s a ton of fun, but the issue mainly stems from Stun and Blind. Stun is too good in its stun time, regen battery/stam, and its versatility. Blind has a waaaaay longer stun time, but it requires set up which isn’t great in the middle of a chase
X-Ray could use a buff, but it still isn’t going to be great compared to stun/blind until they get nerfed and the enemies become bigger threats
I feel like I've summoned quite a few xray mains, happy to see that 🫡
@@Bluriate say anything about X ray rig and we spawn in, it’s like a summoning call
Might have to non stop talk about xray then 🫢😆
xray has always been my favorite rig, and i’ve used it ever since i first started playing trials. but i found that stun was especially helpful for countdown!
the only reason I ever used Xray rig was when it was part of a weekly challenge, i hadn't even bothered to unlock it yet lol, the low cooldown time is pretty nice though
I used to run X-ray unironically, but I then learned how OP Stun was and I haven’t swapped since. 😅
A statement a few relate with 😵😭
It would be a good buff if X-ray also acted like a lockpicking tool.
Xray should definitely get some sort of buff tho fr
cool ideas though
before launch I used to main x-ray rig because it was actually a useful x-ray rig, you could see the enemies through walls all over you, stayed longer, and the recharge was the same as other rigs but was worth the wait because the x-ray was a great way to stealth around and helps you know whats in the next room before you got in. now its just a newb rig, like you genuinely are wasting space by using it now. i hope they buff it because this thing is just garbage
@@LeNeonyi Agreed word for word, bar for bar 🗣
I mostly use it for P O S T E R S
And I like to see if picking a lock is worth it but with coop I use stun or medic and rarely barricade
@@sinner2133 Word for Word, Bar for Bar 🗣 I agree with you fully on this
I only use X-ray when I play with friends. I always have the lock breaker amp with me while having X-ray because it is easy for me to find bricks to unlock containers mostly for finding rig chargers. My team usually has 2 or 3 stunner. It makes the game pretty easy in that case.
@@hjenhhek7000 In a team environment xray is alright compared to solo
This is my main rig now, has been for a bunch of months and it's the best one imo, range of visibility should be a bit buffed
Range Visibility buff then It'd be cool to use helping those going for pure stealth. I'm happy to hear there is a few of you who use xray rig still 🫡
@@Bluriate I dont go full stealth I've now reached a point where whenever I can I go apeshit, but yes stealth sessions are often forced and xray is sweet there
@@ledbychaos I mean I wish I or others could just fully play stealth when we want to, Xray rig would be perf for that but the range just makes it where you get jumpscared by time enemy skeleton appears 😅 I mainly play apemode myself too, I suppose running around with xray helps combat the short range
The ping is better than the x Ray lmao : unlimited range, sharing to all allies on the map during a longer duration ...
I know right 😭 should be able to ping items through walls w xray or something
Recently the x-ray rig has some great uses in a group of 4 in the new escalation game mode,
They can find posters, rats, and TVS to get the second upgrade, if they can get a buile going, it can get very OP and stuff, plus its super cooldown timer really works
I had to do a daily task involve using the x-ray, so i picked it when i playing thr new game mode, and made a build centered using the key master AMP, becoming a lock picking master and gathering resources for my team to use and stuff
@@gameby41 sounds like fun building it like a scavenger, just most of the time personally I don't struggle with posters (rats a lil) but itsnt enough to convert me, good try tho glad youre having fun with it 🙃
@@Bluriate the rats are insanely hard to get on certain maps,
Also lock picking build would be alot stronger if i could freely chose the AMP, like "key master" "noise reduction" and "backpack" freely running around without making noise, being able to carry more, and pop open lock instantly.
I agree, I noticed that while I was leveling up and discovering each AMP, its a shame
I only use the worst rig in the game to challenge myself. Having X-Ray only helps with finding posters on certain maps like Release The Prisoners, but even then it’s a waste to not run a better rig. It can be useful for new players who are not familiar with the enemies yet, I suppose. 😅
you've got really entertaining content ngl dude keep it up
Thank you very much, this is only the beginning 🙏

To be fair on objectives/trials like eliminate the past that is smart, good thinking 🤔

If they increase the range significantly, and make certain items glow a certain color then it could be good. Like main objectives glow yellow for example.

Stun and heal is only for people who cannot kite and get hit. Real chads fo xray!
I understand the sentiment, but *to be fair*: Franco Barbi puts you in situations where kiting without getting hit would be nearly impossible, due to his shotgun. At that point, stun is definitely very very helpful and I wouldn’t consider it a “cheap” defense against Franco specifically.
@@discountdisco2273 with the cooldown on stun, I be kiting 24/7 🤣

The stun rig gives battery too 😭 Its always fun to switch around the rigs doesnt have to be stun, and I'm glad to hear people are enjoying the xray rig even if personally I consider it the weakest.
I know that xray can help with finding more Rig rechargers, but as long as you open every blue box you find you will probably find some. @@Bluriate Well, I was thinking about, why did they nerf X-ray and I maybe know, why. In open beta the reach of X-rays vision was large, but you couldn't use it, while you hidden and the countdown was longer (I think, it was more, than minute) and at last, from 1st level, the main use of X-ray is to see nearest enemies through the walls, items and quest objects are for lvl up. So maybe they nerf it, becouse now you can use it, while you hidden and countdown is short on 45 secs. (35 if its lvl up) and main use remains, see nearest enemies.
