Don’t know if the girls have seen any of my posts about seeing the family at Chevy’s….. We were there eating( my family and I). He sat down at a table set for five. After about five minutes no one showed up. I told my wife “ this ain’t right, John Force with no body to talk to”, so I went over to the table and asked, “ are you in cognito? He looked up and said WHAT? I said “ do you want not to be noticed? He said NO! Sit down….. I told him, “ about a week ago, I was going to work, I was late, the 91 and La Palma were jammed, so I went down the street that Albertsons is on. You pulled out in front of me and stopped right in front of me. I almost T boned you. How I got that little Toyota Tercel to get around you was an act of God!!!! I told him that if I were an Al Hoffman fan, I could have taken him OUT!!! He said THAT WAS YOU?!?!?!?. THANK YOU FOR 3:12 NOT BEING A HOFFMAN FAN!!!!! He said he was on the phone, realized he ran a stop sign….. then he told me a story of being interviewed by Rusty Wallace. He was asked how he thought he would die. Your dad said he would die in his passenger car talking on the phone! He said you almost made that happen!!!! About that time your mom and the rest of you came in. You girls I would guess we’re about eight and ten. I told him, have a good time with your family.
I was on a Mazda off road chase team, I know how much time racers have with their families.
I saw him around town a few times after that… he always recognized me and we chatted for a while.
Your dad can overcome ANYTHING!!!!!!! Hope he’s back at the track in no time, even if he doesn’t get back in his “office”………..😊
