I think there can only be something wrong... And its usually 2 chips that die the video chip or the charging chip if I remember well... Also while indeed some where killed by 3rd party docks or chargers, lot of ppl in forums claimed to only have used original charger\dock and got a problem on one of them... There's also the other common problems of Switch's bending and some to the point where the touch screen even starts to come out probably due to heat when its docked in that closed crap dock with almost no space in-between...
The problem isn't just with 3rd party docks, if you take the official power cord from the official dock and quickly unplug it from the dock then plug it directly into the Switch it will kill the Switch as well. It's a problem with the power supply trying to send more power directly into the Switch than it can handle. @@workdesu You just gonna fix them again
It would also be switch breaking
i like the "what to remove next" editing. Very instrutive and helpful, not to forget anything.
Your videos are so relaxing and satisfying could watch them all day
You are an amazing technician sir. Love watching a craftsman work.
after watching this series I wanna break my switch and try to fix it myself even though I don't have any of the tools.
Steve, I must be odd but I watched all 3 video's and was still interested, OK I'm an apprentice fixer of older years but what was great about this was I learnt about a few new tools (heat mat and the charge indicator) as well as the fancy but slightly expensive screwdriver. So great vid's, really interesting and well judged about just how many times to repeat showing a repair stage....Subscribed...
Welcome to my channel! Glad you're enjoying it.
Just out of curiosity, how many hours was dedicated to this fix, just wondering what you would have been paid per hour for this venture.
I'm not here to learn how to fix nintendo switches or XBOXes or PS4s tbh. I'm just here to root for the guy. Every time something works I'm like WOOHOO PROFIIIIIT! And those editing moments with the unscrewing in 2:00 or the easter egg with his wife on the prev video. It's really cool! Good job man :D
*turns switch over*
*sees apple logo*
Me: Yeah, it's broken, throw it in the bin
Sir your videos and the cut down part of the screws getting removed are so satisfying
made over my monthly rent in 3 videos
this video series inspired me to learn board repair and see what i can start doing
The vid is a bit old. Now a refurb is around $135/ea and his total profit is around $267. (Around $13/ea.)
He is a good guy... I haven't found such a Gentle guy like him yet on UA-cam...
$90 seems like a lot for a broken Switch.
I assume they are 90 cause they were not opened or taken any parts out :/ the ones that have been opened and missing parts might be like 50 bucks. STILL A LOT.
Why. The new parts arent that expensive and If IT runs again you resell it for 200+?
People on mercari are trying to sell their broken switches for 180 😂
dustiinn97 200 probably complete with joy cons, these are just the tables i assume they would sell for 150$
@@freddydiaz8292 joy cons included
Me being 'Tech inefficient'... I find your videos so interesting! Learning alot and it's pretty surprising what you can find inside consoles! Thanks! :D
youtube: Wanna watch a guy fix switches
Me: meh...why not
edits are getting better and better keep it up mate
i need that known good battery in my life
Seeing someone just fix things is surprisingly satisfying.
I got a few on ebay that supposedly were dead. well I followed this. One one of them though someone had put whiteout on the obviously pink indicator.
Crazy...I've never seen that!
@@Tronicsfix yeah me either. I've seen this on Cell phones too.
Dude stop being so awesome, you're making me an expert at fixing switches.
I'd be genuinely interested in knowing how many hours that took you to rack up 800 bucks, but that's a nice fix percentage :D well done!
Something about broken stuff being fixed is just so satisfying. Keep up the good work buddy!
13:55 .. You said you were going to leave it to charge, and then it cuts to you saying you left it plugged in overnight... but your hair is exactly the same as before the cut... I'm so confused... "Overnight" didn't happen
I like that he still keeps the video entertaining even tho 80% of the switches have the same problem
Has anyone ever found a seller just selling the rubber tips for the joy-cons? I can find replacement analog switches but all I need is the rubber tip.
I don't think they are meant to be replaced...but I could be wrong
This is really fun to watch - great work with the editing too! It almost makes me want to give it a try.
Do it!
At 22:10 with number 18, it looks like a crack along the digitizer... is it just a hairstraw? If not, you may wanna test the touch feature of that one.
EDIT: Corrected number from 17 to 18... you said number 18 on two of them, and that confused me.
I caught that too... had to hit the comments to see if anyone else had aswell 🤣
I cant believe I watched all 3 of these videos. you made chip replacing look easy.
Thanks for watching! It's not that difficult of repair if you have a good amount of experience.
The one that has to change the battery in that one switch, And sees a Sub demand.
I would be like,
-WTF, this battery has a community ?
I love the animated disassemble/reassemble.
