Division 2 AI Nerf - Was it Too Much?

  • Many changes are being implemented within a month of The Division 2's release, including the recent nerf to the AI. Was it too much? Or did Massive do the correct thing?
    I think it was a great move overall, but a tad bit too much. I think they just need a slight buff back, especially in hard and challenging, and we'll be fine.

    I know that these are supposed to be in line with the talent nerfs, but testers are reporting similar feelings on the PTS. What do you guys think? Was the nerf too much?

      too much yes. I would ask them to increase their damage by 10% and tweak aggression to force you to move more but not stand on top of you to do it.

      you do realize when in a group play you position your self diferently each time you can fuck up the AI and it will be moving from cover to cover nothing else? oh wait you are playing solo you dont know that you can fuck up the AI of the enemy when clutching theyr AI programing on spots where you wouldnt normaly be lol

      Right now on live I just did my first Solo of a challenging mission. seemed easier than a hard I played last week. Thanks for the video

      AI was fine aggressive yes challenging sure but their health did need a little less damage resistance but the ai aggression was exciting and made you move.

    My biggest problem with the AI is that it feels like they all are running around with both WH and aimbot. U kill a group with a nade from cover, they dont know u r there, all insta die, but everyone else knows exactly were u are. Stuff like that is quite annoying.

    One of the weirdest issues with the game is the enemy weapons don't have damage drop off in line with the players, I'm talking smg snipers, shotguns that do damage clear across the map, ect.

    Too easy? Not for the solo player! Npc’s will always “glitch”kill you towards the end of every mission .......

      kid please i do solo challange and heroic without any efford , yesterday i and my friend do challande rosevelt island without fucking cover ,FFS its pony land now, all cry babys and causuals fault

      😂😂😂I have over 10 clips of NPC's glitching, teleporting, ignoring damage, the list goes on. The problem wasn't with the bullet sponging, it was the Uber aggressive AI system that couldn't respond correctly to high dps builds

      @@Dalerium it's not anyone's fault and just because you spend more time in the game doesnt give the opinion of other, less active players any less importance. If you say that casuals and cry babies make 5he game to easy and they ramp up difficulty, say goodbye to new players. If they lower it to appease casual players then say goodbye to returning vets. Maybe you dont understand the concept of BALANCE which means changing aspects of the game to fit both groups. If you find it to easy, put your word out and hopefully it makes a good and acceptable change, until then, the game will remain broken and borderline unplayable for longer periods of time.

      This is the problem, no matter what they do they will never keep everyone happy. I am a casual player too but I agree its too easy now, I solo'd a hard mission and it felt like I had selected easy mode.

      @@letshaveya im a pvper and the AI was good during Beta like its was hard AF ...made me wanna play it ....then launch came and they was already nerfed ...now again .....how easy do they want it i can speed run any mission on challenge already on console so on PC i could only imagine how easy it is. PVP ....well TD2 is one of the worst pvp games ive ever played definitely step down from TD1 so that was out the window for me but now the pve is too easy

      @A Bad Guy dude I have motor control issues that affect my ability to aim and I have work with affects my ability to play often. This summer have been extremely lenient but that still doesnt change the fact that people have setbacks and others have a hard time understanding and playing these kinds of games.
      What makes people tryhards are when they talk shit to everyone because they think they are superior. Even if they deserve respect for something like widdz and his meta build, they still act like they own the game. Like widdz did until his following began getting insulted by him because he got to cocky.

    The AI was too aggressive, especially vs solo players. But my biggest problem, which I think I may have been seeing more of lately, is "unmotivated" movements. Enemies running to a spot, then immediately back to where they were, and back and forth. Poking their head up for a quarter second repeatedly, running all the way across the open, directly past me (within melee range) to get to a location behind me, sometimes not even in cover.
    I don't mind aggression, per say, but it needs a reason. Move to a position and shoot, don't just chicken run back and forth. Push aggressively from cover to cover, not just blitz across the open (non rush classes). That way, they can be aggressive, but you can see it develop and adapt. AI should be logically motivated. Go somewhere to DO something. Granted, a player's response can change that motivation (shooting can make them decide to not pop up for a shot, or move to "safer" cover), but they should have a decision tree with some tactical logic.

      That's exactly what I was experiencing too Ricky. Mobs running from left to right, seemingly unsure of what they were even doing. At times they would seem to rush to you to attack, but then decide against it and run all the way past you. I really like what you said, they should "Go somewhere and DO something"

      I agree with this logic. I rather prefer the aggressive AI, even solo. But some appearance of reasoning would be nice.

      To be honest, in a realistic FPS such a behavior would be menacing, because you wouldn't know for sure where the fuck is enemy all the time.

    I'm holding my final opinion until the equipment nerf patch comes out. As is I don't think they are too easy. And I had them bum rush and kill me over and over last night in a T4 CP. And all the other issues you showed I haven't run into.

    I am so glad I am not a developer. No matter how much they try to fix the game and adjust it, people will never be happy or satisfied. If you all want the NPC's to be aggressive, play the Heroic missions. I am glad they nerfed the NPC's. They were way to aggressive on hard and challenging and in the open world. Right now, we will have to agree to disagree @Gongrongzong.

      James S. Young Jr. exactly, these crybabies are ruining the game. You have to work and grind in this game for a good build and then a couple of days later your build or weapon is completely dog crap. This is the Division 1 all over again. I can’t stand this, hopefully someone will smack the developers upside the head and tell them to listen to the dedicated players. Otherwise, they will loose a big chunk of their community just like Division 1. Sorry for the rant, it just makes me angry. If you read this long have a blessed day :)

      With that being said . They (the developers) made a game that u purchased for 60+ dollars of your money how ever make it, for a unfinished product that they will release "updates" to fix what wasn't fixed. Your essentially buying a alpha/beta version of the game. That's like someone paying u to cut their grass and you cut half and you say you'll come back and cut the rest later.?? That's why I'm not happy.

    Increase their agressiveness again. The artificial difficulty of enemy health is just annoying. No one wants to shoot the same npc over and over again. The ai's agressiveness is one of the games greatest accomplishments. They felt threatening and in turn were fun to fight. The problem was npc health and the fact you had no way to deal with multiple agressive hostiles navigating your way as you just did not have the firepower to defend yourself. I saw the tankyness of npcs in the pts darkzone and it looks terrible. I do not want to spend 20 minutes clearing a landmark because each npc takes 2 or 3 mags to kill. This is not enjoyable at all. Npc difficulty should come from mechanics. Grenades emps turrets agressiveness ect. Not from pools of health and armor. We should feel like we can hold our own but also feel the need to be tactical in doing so. Just my thoughts.

      They weren't only aggressive they had superhuman abilities and for some odd reason were able to defy the laws of physics

    90% of the trouble I have with NPCs is when you're running and a mob randomly spawns pretty much right on top of you. It's super frustrating at times when moving between your FT location and the objective/activity you're heading to bc you can't really just run past and ignore them like in TD1

    For me the general aggressiveness of the AI was never the issue, it was far more their sponginess and ability to completely ignore being shot, which was noticeable on challenging and downright insane on heroic. Combine this with certain enemy types that have far too much armour / hp and no general counter*, plus enemies that are heavily armoured but spend all their time in cover rapidly spamming skills**, and is it any wonder certain players thought the AI was 'unfair' and 'far too hard'.
    As for the way the AI is now, it's a joke, you can practically just sit in cover and they will mostly ignore you, occasionally flanking or lobbing grenades, but they rarely approach or truly threaten you anymore... and the only reason Tank and Skill builds are 'viable' now is that the enemy is so nerfed (mostly***) that it simply doesn't matter; you can go full shotgun with a slap-dash build and still clear 'challenging' content. This is NOT balance!
    * The main offenders here are War Dogs and Heavy Hammers, as they both have 'bullet absorbent' armour (i.e. no reaction to being hit) and effectively no weak points, and they can 1-2 shot you. So yeah, have one of these guys walk up on you and you are basically dead, either from them or from having to abandon cover and getting ripped to shreds by all the other enemies that suddenly target you with 100% accuracy from across the map.
    ** Namely Tech guys (who can deploy new turrets with almost zero cooldown), Medics (that will sit in cover until judgement day, but as soon as you turn your back they are sprinting around rapidly raising all their friends), and Black Tusk Drone 'Rushers' (who can be incredibly annoying if you don't have line of sight to their position). Certain LMG Gunners can also be a massive pain due to their very high damage, very high amour, and ability to completely ignore being shot in the face, and I'm not talking about the ones with helmets on.
    *** I say ‘mostly’, as a great example came up the other day while doing Potomac Event Centre. The first area (on this run) featured a Heavy Hammer, 2 LMG Gunners and other assorted enemies. This was next to impossible for me with my High Damage, Low Survivability LMG 'Rambo' loadout (Heavy Hammer got me out of cover, LMG gunners dropped me in less than a second). I switched back to my tankier Self-Heal AR loadout for this bit (and only barely cleared it), but once cleared I did the rest of the mission on my 'Rambo' loadout without even breaking a sweat.
    NB. As for the 180 on reddit, that is because the developers themselves have done a 180 on the game; i.e. compared to launch many activities are now less rewarding (some to the point of not even being worth doing), gear now regularly drops BELOW your current gear score, the world and missions short of heroic have been drastically reduced in difficultly (and fun), and now 'powerful' talents are being heavily restricted and nerfed into near uselessness. And yet there are still many pressing issues and balance abnormalities that the developers seem completely unwilling to address... so yeah, The Division 2: fun, exciting, challenging and rewarding at launch, but rapidly heading towards being a dull, ‘easy' and unrewarding grind fest.

    i dunno. went to ODZ, 100% hazard protection. 3 enemies throw 3 grenade at me, 1 get negated by the demolisioner perk, 2 hit me, lose all my armor, try to run for cover, get shot by sniper, barely alive, using heath pack, full armor, turn to shoot, almost kill 1 yellow, another yellow get behind my back, unload his auto shotgun on my back, i die immediately. all fight, i get to shoot 1 00 round lmg at 1 yellow, kill that 1 guy, then die. dunno, balance?

    I didnt even realize the AI nerf was live. I did notice situations where I was usually rushed that they would get close turn around and run away. I also noticed that the amount of NPCs hiding in cover was absolutely ridiculous. Literally, I was like why are they friggin' scared of me? What the heck? it actually got real frustrating. Because thy literally would just sit there....forever.

      And that's even worse isnt it, if its too easy on solo. Makes grouping up with people redundant.

      @@Gongrongzong go do Heroic solo imposible cause of the scaling for a 4man group even if you are solo, game is pretty much boring when solo playing and ppl leave it after a while.... in solo the damage and AI are much much more diferent than in a group so making vids about something being shitty good or bad whilest soloing is kinda misleading to the people. Its diferent when in group thats it....want to see you make a solo vid on the raid

    As a solo player running a build that isn't being changed by nerfs, the only thing that really seems to threaten me is getting clipped by an elite who applies shock. I haven't noticed any AI just standing still like in the video, but I have noticed they will run up to my face and then run away for no reason.

    I’ve seen a lot of npc’s running past me to another team player and very aggressively attacking him ! Very funny in a way though...he needed to run away and they kept following him lol we laughed so hard

      Lol, I was dueling with a friend.. and an outcast crazy strapped with C4 ran right past me, and continued on to my friend.. It was hilarious to see. Servere case of tunnel vision ? I could of stuck out a foot and he would of tripped.

    Woooow so that's why enemies were running around like headless chickens today!! I did not know about the change yet I experienced it, so it is deffo happening. I shouted several times out loud: "Man I don't have time for this, rush me, ffs!!!"
    Man!! BEING RUSHED is the only challenge in this game! You can feel the adrenaline rush kicking in! D o N O T t a k e i t a w a y !

    The AI thing is quite interesting.
    The AI is also one thing where the Division community went a complete 180. At the beginning where everyone was leveling their characters, people praised the AI for being tactical, pushing flanks, trying to get into good positions and also, aside from the archetypes that are suicidal, being afraid of getting shot. You weren't seeing a lot of mobs running towards you or cripwalking towards you while shooting at you. The moment people arrived at WT4 the community saw thing that they weren't happy with the AI, which made them shittalking it. At WT4 the AI was more spongy, way more aggressive, faster and more accurate, especially at the higher difficulties. They began to ignore cover, walk towards you like the terminator, having 2000rpm on their SMGs and could kill you in half a second from 50m away with said SMG, or they walk around your cover while being out of cover and kill you then. Something wasn't right there. People who praised the AI went to critizise it for getting dumber at higher difficulties while at the same time being way more deadly. ( Lets be honest, the AI was way more intelligent at lower diffculties than on WT4 ( now 5 ) and at harder difficulties.
    AI had to change. First, their insane scaling was restricting build diversity. If you didn't run a beserk or unstoppable force build you were wasting a lot of time trying to get through the missions. Armor was basically useless outside of unstoppable force. Also their scaling was also a reason why the AI went so fucking aggressive ( that and a bug in the algorithm ). They knew they could walk up to you and execute you while you are trying to shoot them, which isn't challenging, its cheap. In a cover based shooter the AI should at least try to play by the same rules that we have ( with some exceptions ). They should look you weapoints in the flanks and try to push there, they should try to focus a player down who has position that gives him serious advantages, they should coordinate their skills more etc.
    The challenge should come from the AI itself being clever, not from the stupid stuff we saw quite a lot after reaching WT4. There is a difference between challenge and cheap and not everyone knows that difference. I want the AI to be challenging, to the point that each mistake could kill you but not where the AI can just go out of cover and trade shots.
    What happens right now with AI not shooting, Hammerbros running away or mobs standing still is more or less them bugging out due to changes in their algorithm

      Agreed--AI seems broken/bugged in some aspects with the new behaviors. If they can fix those issues then I don't think the changes are out of line. The game became increasingly what I refer to as stupid hard as you progressed up WTs in that the mobs became increasingly invulnerable and increasingly aggressive. Aggressiveness should increase with DIFFICULTY (not WT) and the mob DPS output/sponginess needed to be reduced.
      Need to have a setup where a variety of builds are viable.
      Need to have scaling/balance where it doesn't feel like the mobs are just flat out cheating (which it often feels like).
      What they are doing and what they had at start tells me that the AI isn't really all THAT smart and the game wasn't really as tactical as people liked to portray. If you actually try to be real world tactical in this game, you usually end up dead (mostly because the mobs are just so OP and they have no morale to break and don't actually panic).

    Yeah I always have atleast one NPC frozen in the grand Washington hotel mission right before you get on the elevator. Which is super frustrating because the npc wont step out and I have had to probe each room with a grenade in order to kill him and continue the mission progression.

    This is the frustration with the developers, they listen and make changes but they go from one problem to another and not really fix anything. The way to fix the enemy difficulty is a simple fix for me, make anything that rushes or flanks or spawns behind you have less damage output and a quicker time to kill then you will find people enjoying the gun fights much more. Only small tweaks were needed but they have gone too far in the opposite direction as they tend to do.
    Yesterday I played a hard mission for the first time and I didnt find it any different to playing on normal, there was even a point where an enemy flanked me and I was totally unaware because he just stood there and didnt shoot at me until most of the other enemies were dead. I get that the amount of balance that is required in this game is a massive task (pun intended) but this isnt their first rodeo, they should have learnt a lot from the first game when it comes to balance but that does not seem to be the case.
    Also not everyone is at WT 5 playing the hardest content in the game, I am in WT 2 but I still want the difficulty to be enjoyable and not too easy otherwise I will lose interest in even getting to WT 5.

    I had some of the purple and yellow enemies have trouble finding cover and running back and forth before the nerf.

    I've noticed the AI in the live game being a bit bonkers recently too. They'll run up to you while you're shooting them, stop when they get close, then start backing away as they realize how much damage they're taking. BUT, the entire time they're not shooting at you, just staring at you. I've also experienced that thing you mention in the video about them standing still. I usually empty my magazine into them for a while, and then when their armor breaks they snap back to normal. Are tank builds really viable again though? I mean the NPC's won't shoot you, so you might as well take red stats to kill them before they fight back.

    It's probably not a 180 degree turn around by the community - it's more likely different segments of the community raising their hands at different times and for different reasons. It's what happens with such a large player-base. The fact that this looks like a 180 degree flip, probably means there is a similarly 50/50 split in the community. Or even more likely, there are 2 very vocal segments of the community ( say 10% from each side ) and there are the 80% of the player base in the middle who just adapt and play on regardless.

    Ugh by far most annoying thing by far now is enemies running around or just running away. Did space museum other day and one of the snipers jumped the fence and ran away. We could not figure out why we could progress in mission but still in combat. Found her butt out in the street behind a car fairly good distance away. Probably would not have found her if it wasn't for it being on heroic so she one shot a group member.

    If the nerfs to AI should be done in increments that should be applied to the ner...”alignments” to gears, skills talents etc..there seems to be knee jerk hammer blows to balancing so right now I’m able to moonwalk through the AI but in haven’t changed my build to accommodate the changes coming up so most of the talents I’m using are changing once they land.:we’ll see how the AI feels after that because if they need them back up and push our power down we’ll be back to bullet sponge square pants all over again..

    Holding my breath for the gear nerf first, but these situations you encountered I only encountered in specific situations. The enemy hardly seems any less spongey at all on challenging and heroic and they still bumrush you like mad. Sledge heavies running back and forth I seen only if you retreat too much, NPCs running back and forth I only seen in wierd maps like that potomac event center finale, and outcast engineer sitting still I seen if their battlebot got stuck. Warhounds can still one shot you though, seen gold warhounds one shot my friends on heroic tidal basin just the other day. Hyena one hand tilted SMG wielders are still long range pinpoint accuracy gods they just lost like 10% of their damage. Engineers still have shotguns that can snipe you from 50m away for full damage. Only significant nerf I noticed was gold flamer outcast girls don't one shot you anymore.

    Using Nemesis Exotic makes almost everything easy.
    Are your experience taken from solo experience? Or 4 player challenge? Because AFAIK, the 4 player challenge difficulty is where majority of players reside.

    I wonder if that is because of the AI or the server lag that might be causing those issues of mobs just standing around. The enemies definately feel less challenging in challenging difficulty. Lets hope they can find a good balance between too agressive enemies (aka snipers rushing into you) and on the other hand enemies that feel like they pose a real threat. I think flanking is the answer and taking tactical cover for the npc´s. Dont really want for the rushing to come back for most of the mob types since it doesnt feel realistic to have every enemy type be a kamikaze type of a fighter.

    1:29 I just had the same thing happen to me at that spot of the mission. All of the AI started running from me at once. I'm not sure if it's scripted that way or what.

    Honnestly i'am fine with the changes to NPC, previously they were unecessary spongy and it was a pain for me : Now it is how it should be, you can hit them hard and you still can go down as easily as previously. In the meantime tho : Now we destroy them way faster than before the real issue that need to be work on by massive is revealed : let me explain =>
    Npc sponginess is fine now but we need a more tactical IA to compensate the fact we pretty much one clip/shot everything and so far i think the problem with the IA is not how they react, it is the total absence of teamwork from the IA. In my dream scenario i would hear some LMG PNJ say : "Flank i cover", then he empty his magazine to the players while the red npc flank you while some other spam nades at you. Pretty much what players would do is to be expected from the IA to bring challenge an entertainment, for now there is no risk to show yourselve and one shot/clip an NPC without another covering him making you at risk.
    ... So yeah... The problem with the IA now is the fact we have a good SOLO npc IA and they have absolutly no coordination whatsoever : This is what need to be worked on and it is something i'v haven't seen been done since the FEAR game's IA : My hopes are low to say the least ^_^

      Thanks for the detailed comment pierre. That is an interesting idea, if they could work on "teamwork AI". But like you said, hopes probably low, not sure if it would involve a overhaul of their current systems.
      Regardless, the AI is already very good for a shooter game! Still way better than most of the genre :)

    The amount of NPC aggressiveness overwhelms the amount of player survivability. When far to mid range NPCs hit like a truck, it leaves no open window for you to peak and get rid of the rushers that swarm you. Even defensive turrets like the flamethrower can't provide much protection due to it's linear range and how rushers attack from different angles. To the point I literally have no other option but to cheese it.
    I'm not a casual player and I can definitely tell this isn't hard or challenging, it's more like don't even try.. just die. I played Dark Souls and even though it was immensely challenging to me, I never felt it was impossible, the game gave me equal survivability and it was up to me if I want to beat the game (get good). But for TD2 there isn't even a "get good" possibility. Just cheesing for the most of it. AI should overall stay the same BUT they should balance agressiveness with survivability, sometimes all NPC types decide to rush you, continuously fire at you (hitting like a truck) to the point you can't even peak else you're dead and of course.. their laser accuracy which makes no sense. Reduce skill cooldowns and buff the effectiveness so we get to use them more often since the number of NPCs/waves and their TTK outweigh skills which is supposed to be our outplay factor, afterall we're SHD tech agents, that's our main advantage. Among all the changes that should be made, AI needs the least.

    I actually like the part where they just rush me like Cat chasing a mouse. they make them more easier to tell their moves. right now. i have no idea what they are doing. they fight less like really really less. they either run everywhere or like far far way. i have to chase a Elite Heavy Gunner 3 streets away from their path. I killed the first guy. and he was the first to hightail and run. i now spend more time running after them, than keeping my distance fighting them. if that what its gonna be. then I need a running buff. they run faster than Usain Bolt.

    I think the game should remain hard on hard modes. Let's take Path of Exile for example here. The community made a big complained in hard core that Uber elder is too hard and they kept dying. What the developers did was nerfing just by a tiny bit (1%). The problem that the community didn't understand was, it was an end game boss. It should be hard af and needs tactical ways to take it down. Same here in the division. But, one thing that Path of exile shine is that the drops are very rewarding (RNG) but not that low. So it kept the community wanting to do Uber elder as much as they can. For this, heoric rewards are still bad and now when the NPC are even squishier + No one plays DZ as much as Division 1... I think in my opinion, getting the game world war Z might be an option for me now. Just to pass time till massive does something right and not listen to the majority always but to actually understand how the minority feels about the game. Can go both ways or one way, it's up to them to decide.

    The NPCs seem easier now, wait until the Garbage that is on the PTS hits live servers, you will feel the pain of killing a red-bar, leave alone a yellow one. Trust me, its painful.

    Some players in the PTS are saying that some weapons are getting base damage is being reduced on the PTS compared to the live servers. I am guessing that they will have to do this to allow for the increase to the gear score to prevent gear crush that was mentioned in the dev stream that happens in other games.

    Haven't played for a while as a 59 year old solo player the AI was slightly too hard for me had to grind for hours just to get weapons my lvl, and failed a mission my lvl.
    Solo'd the division easy enough.

    This game is starting to take a dive, I hate to admit. Sure part of software development is post release patching. In this case the rebalancing is always going to be a problem. I just finished a solo challenge level tidal basin. I almost walked through the thing and deliberately did things I NEVER would have done prior and expected to survive. Now there is no challenge. Looking at the focus in PvP they are trying to push due to the toxic side of the community has me currently uninstalling this game because I do not need the frustration from a source of entertainment.

    I feel that the AI is a little weak sauce, I did a challenging over the weekend and it was...easy, too easy, to the point where I thought "I could do this mission solo". I really would prefer that the a.i make a serious effort to kick my arse instead of me feeling [I'm not being facetious here] like I'm playing duck hunt.

    I literally stop playing a week ago ever since the first patch notes came out on pts and now npc nerf , seriously wtf the game I was really enjoying has now basically got ruined through a few changes cause there to many people who whine and cry , great to see a brand new division go down the same route as division 1 did such a shame , I doubt they will redeem themselves till this game end of life cycle shocking and a shame back to other games

    I think the NPC is fine IMO just the way in the live game. It provides a good challenge and I have a lot of fun doing level 4 CP with full squad.

    They have no clue about what they're doing and the nerfs show how much they don't care.
    To make all or almost every talent usefull they need to rework most talents and that takes time. They need to sit down and brainstorm what the talent should do, how it would synergize with other talents, what requirement it should have... that takes a lot of time and time is money!
    To nerf numbers there is no hard work, it's fast and by far cheapest solution. Let's nerf the half dozen talents that work, call it an aligment and save development time aka money.

    I would have much rather preferred to be stronger, rather than making npcs weaker. The agressiveness I can understand (in heroic stuff).. but just give us the ability to overcome that (more effectively in conjunction with our skill at the game)..instead of nerfing everything. I want a sniper turret with shock rounds as well you know lol. We have a long way to go.. so things are bound to continue changing. Also... ive definitely noticed the ai being weird with their movements. I have to chase them down sometimes because they wont stop moving lol. The only time they DONT move and seemingly get stuck, is if I engage them from 40+ meters.

    But.... SMG Sniping is the best build for the NPCS. Makes the players open up to the idea of that build!
    In all seriousness, however, I believe that skillpower should scale all skills damage, duration, cooldown, etc. to some degree. Additionally, bring back stagger on shotguns. whose idea was it to add in melee damage bonus on that weapon type? Nobody uses that button, especially when said button cannot stagger enemies or players.

      Aye, I've no idea what they are doing with shotguns. It feels like shotguns are still in the alpha stage. Pretty disappointing, and not sure why changes to it are taking so long. Shouldn't be that hard to change them from completely useless to somewhat viable.

    Nothing was changed. The enemy health is exactly the same in terms of time to kill--exactly the same.

    i dont see one thing different... still rush at you, shot gun snipers from 2 blocks away, warhounds STILL fuckn stupid... oh and that PC load and boot times... notta. Not to mention hunters still bugged, and NOW, again.... no fuckn useless specialized ammo dropping. This game went from a good launch to a fuckn pos bug infested every patch nightmare. as a whole i think the difficulty of the game is good mostly. but i do see bullet sponge creeping in.

    Heroic is getting to feel too easy now. When you hit good group you are just walking thru it like challenge 1 week ago. This feels really demotivating, as far i like easy grinding i like also real challenge and thriller of survival. Im seriously voting for next level of difficulty, for real players when there is no mercy, and where maybe i would think to change my build just to be able to finish it. Nefring AI? Why. The difficulty levels are for a reason, right?

    Let’s still calm down about skill builds build please. Until skills that aren’t utility actually can target a running target, do more damage without sacrificing everything to explosive damage and still be less than AR shooting for 2 secs, skill builds without utility will never be viable because they’re not better than a gun shooting.

    I believe they are okay. It's hard on heroic. And it's harder against the BT who still push the shit out of you.
    I do have an easier time soloing challanging but not to the point it's boring. I want it to like this, where with top gear and min max build, anything but "Mythic 10+" feels like progress.

    They made soloing way too easy, before it was at least a challenge somewhat on challenging but now its a breeze. Heroic is the only challenge know and the npcs just love to ovee run you
