Foreign Investment is a totally different "ball-game" compared to an airport. Adani should build an international standard airport to be regulated by Kenyan regulations and not take over what is established and also take over regulations that exist. That is not foreign investment, but advocacy for neo-colanialism or recolonization,

We should categorically barn and make it illegal to give out, sell, lease or go into partnership with any foreign entities as pertaining with our entry points. Ports, Airports, border security etc should remain in the firm grip of the Kenyan government for the Kenyan people.

Just to name a few. Leasing operations to private operators is nothing new. Adani is also not new to the business, they currently operate some of the world's biggest airports and are doing a very fine job at it too.

Sovereigns of Kenya JKIA belongs to us. Nobody can sell this without our consent. DO not relent on this till Adani is gone. Additionally we need to set a precedent of prosecuting public officials who do corrupt deals. A few things. 1. Heathrow Airport is not a government airport but a Private and Public Partnership. It works but it had its challenges. 2. JKIA is a profitable government enterprises. Why would a businessman 'bid' to take over a national asset 'IF' the backroom dealings are not profitable to the principals? Personally, after 30 years. Kenya might not afford the airport!

The lady quotes the massive amounts ($750 and $92 million) Adani is investing which is misleading and is actually a trick by Adani to justify the project by showing its out of reach for the government. What the lady doesn’t seem to understand is the amount is irrelevant if there wasn’t competition because the costs are always exaggerated by even 10 times easily which means they are going to realistically spend less than 10% the amount they are publishing but charge Kenya 🇰🇪 the full amount.
Keep in mind the second runway which is expensive appears to have been excluded in this deal and ironically it was in KAA strategic plan. This isn’t rocket science, this is how kickback schemes are done. Employing unskilled relatives who can’t even run an emergency generator at the airport or come up with ideas of building a simple, cheap functional terminal to replace the temporary one doesn’t mean there are no Kenyans who can run JKIA. What value are the likes of Kositany adding to airport management? Is it not a tribal appointment? We are now seeing consequences of giving thieves who are are also fools critical positions.
Secondly, you put too much emphasis on public participation yet that is useless because without a benchmark for comparison of cost then how on earth can you tell if there is value for money?
They should go back to drawing board and issue an open tender which is the norm worldwide and Adani itself got its six airports tenders in India through open competition.
More importantly, there is no emergency apart from the temporary terminal which can easily be built by KAA taking a loan and paying with its profits. KAA is profit making and can make more money if streamlined. The work can be done piecemeal by Kenya 🇰🇪.
Why don't they sell the shares to Kenyans to benefit the Kenyans instead of giving them out to foregners
