    New Cura interface change:
    * Setting "Bottom Pattern Initial layer" at 1:00 is no longer under Shell, but under Top/Bottom -> "Bottom Pattern Initial Layer"

    You're a life saver and not know it. Took me forever to get settings going and they been good until the inside wall was rough. Got a different filament and those codes were not working for this one. I put the same settings as yours and I can't love you enough ☺️

    I really appreciate you sharing your process and settings. I’m new to 3D printing and am wanting to make my own cutters for my pottery business because paying others to make them for me is getting so costly that I may as well buy a printer. So thank you 🙏

    I would love to see a video on how to do a beveled edge for the cutters to help with the sharp clean cut if your interested lol. Or if you would like to share what CAD program you use to design in. I love making jewelry so much that I bought my own 3D printer to create and print my own clay cutters only to find the whole design process is not so simple. This video is wonderful, it has helped my prints TREMENDOUSLY!! Thank you for all your help. Your awesome!!!

      I looked everywhere for a tutorial on how to do a beveled edge and couldn't find any.
      So Instead, I reduce the top 3 mm of my cutting blade from 1.2 mm to .5 mm.
      Gives it a nice thin cutting edge.

    I'm trying to print some Cookie Cutters, but I keep getting a line where the widths change, which is the main breaking point of the cutter when stress is applied. Any tips on how to fix this?
    Software: Ultimaker CURA 5.0 (it also happened in CURA 4.13)
    Printer: FLSUN V400, was tuned to print cleanly (for the most part).
    Also, I use a skirt, mainly just to ensure the lines are laying down correctly (and so I can live level to make it perfect before the mesh).

      If you fool around with tinkercad before cura, I have my first layer at 17 with hole. Second layer is 16, and third layer is 4. Was 5 but it does fine at 4. Only thing I mess with in cura are my dimensions as far as x,y, and z. I have my cutters at 112 in height or width depending which is longer with uniform scaling checked off. After it scales, I uncheck and have my z at 16

      either reduce or increase your bed heat in small increments . you may have to play around with it a bit to find the right setting.
      Another suggestion is cover your build plate in blue painters tape. That really helps with adhesion

      your bed leveling could be off by just a mm and that's enough to pick up the initial filament layer and drag it around making a mess. I've learned this the hard way.

    Pla+ is food safe man??

    • @radioku5e362
      @radioku5e362 2 роки тому

      You are not cooking in the PLA, so yes. PLA is made from corn and/or sugarcane starch. PLA itself is food safe, however, once printed it has many voids (fear of bacterial growth) on the surface which would make it not food safe if the material you are cutting is not to be cooked (cooking would kill bacteria). These should be washed in lukewarm water with an antibacterial soap. Additionally I keep mine in the freezer to make sure no bacteria can grow between uses. The PLA is not what you have to worry about. It is the print nozzle you need to worry about. Brass can have lead in it as part of the alloy, so stainless steel is a must, and the OP is using stainless steel.
