I'm finally DONE!
I started this project at the beginning of this year, by selecting all Castiel scenes from s4 up to s11. The actual editing started 3 month ago and now I'm finally here! You guys have no idea how much this project grew on me. I almost didn't want to let it go.
In the video I tried to do a sort of character study(?), putting many parallels and different character trades of Cas in it. You probably won't understand all of the voiceovers, which is fine, just concentrate on the big picture!
I tried this new style and I have to say, it's a real pain! So to everyone who is doing these kind of videos, you have my respect!
Last but not least, I want to thank Laure, Eloisa & Matt for sending me some scenes and also Aneta, Vivien and Nat for the support and help!
This video will also be my entry for the CW Contest, because I probbaly won't have time to do a whole new video and since it contains a lot of parallels, I hope it'll fit to the task!

castiel's character development in my opinion is fantastic. like he went from the most loyal angel to heaven to the one who rebelled for humanity. and for that, he went through hell, but he fought through it, no matter how tough things got, and they got hard. cas deserves all the appreciation and more that he gets.

Watch the footage of the SPN panel at 2019 San Diego Comic Con. Rich Speight makes almost this exact point a couple of times, how Misha started out as just a guest but developed into a lead role due largely to audience feedback. :)

There weren't any real spoilers because the tribute was made up of such brief clips from the episodes that feature his character; I just got a really good *feel* for what he's like, and I think I could possibly fall in love with him, ha ha! XD
Yeah, I want to watch it... I wonder if Netflix has it. I'll have to look into that. :)
He really is an amazing character. I hope you've followed through and watched it. He doesn't enter until season 4, but the earlier stuff is worth getting to know. Season 6-7 sorta drags him through the mud plot wise because of the production team at that point, but truck through and don't give up.
I did indeed give it a chance and I got up to at least Season 4 and saw Castiel and loved his portrayal from what I had so far seen. However, a disturbance forced me to stop watching this show. And it is my firm belief that the real Castiel does not approve of having his identity used as a human's plaything and cash cow. I will not be going back, but the character of Castiel gives excellent advice when he tells Dean early on, "Read the Bible." I have been changed.

Some time between season 8 and 11 I just thought, please kill him off, stop hurting and humiliating and sidelining Castiel as a character, let him go out as a hero like even Meg did. Well I'm glad he seems to matter a bit again since season 12 at least...

Castiel is such a beautifully intricate character, and everything stood against him but he *still* chose good, chose the *real* version of righteousness even though it meant he’d lose all he’d ever known.
Gosh, and how lucky are we to have Misha Collins to play this wondrous Angel (in every sense of the word).
I haven't seen a single episode of this amazing show and I'm sitting here in bed crying over how amazing and beautiful and imperfectly perfect this character, this Castiel is. One day I was sucked into the fandom, and I don't regret it at all. Because SPN is family. The characters are a part of us. The actors are a part of us. Talented people like you are a part of us. Videos like this are a part of us. So thank you. Thank you for making this beautiful, beautiful masterpiece. Just...thank you.

Im literally in freaking tears with this video. I watched it many times already and I cant stop crying. Cas is slowly becoming my favorite character on Supernatural solely because he is truly the definition of someone that can change for the better. He went from some angel whose purpose was to serve God and be with his brothers and sisters. Literally his whole mindset was altered when he met the Winchesters because he seen what it meant to have humanity. Castiel, the angel who obeyed his every order, didn't serve humans, became human and fully understood the marks of being so fragile. He's willing to risk everything just to make sure the people of the world are safe. I can't even go into depths the amount of love I have for him and what he has contributed to the show. I just really hope next season will be better for Cas because the past few seasons, they have been treating him like shit.
Everything you said is so true! Seriously, I wish they'd treat him better, because this is why he keeps making these awful mistakes! The Winchesters aren't there for him to help him - even tho he comes every time there is a problem with them - and that's why he wants to fix it himself. :(

I love this whole video, Marie! It is a masterpiece and really shows Cas' whole development, from the begging 'til now, i just love the way you showed us Cas story! The parallels were amazing and i'm proud of you, that you actually did a video that almost goes 5 minutes *claps* :D! The coloring is also beautiful and i admire all the voiceovers and scenes that you used! And the text is also beautiful and fits very well with the video :)

2:20 this gutted me. i love him so much. my parents watched spn while I was growing up but never got round to finishing it after s8 because life got in the way. castiel was my mum's favourite character, and i lost her a couple of years ago. i adore castiel, and even though i think he deserves better as a character, i'm up to s9 on my first time watching and am still watching to see his journey through to the end, even if the writing of the show annoys me sometimes.
that line brings me comfort, that even after everything that happened to him, he is still himself even after everything that has changed. thank you for sharing this video. 'i'm still just castiel'- he is so incredible and this video is so carefully crafted and beautifully affecting. thank you for sharing. he is such a wonderful character for how he accepts change but still is himself at the core of it all.
i remember watching this on sylvester. almost a whole year has passed since then, yet i still come back over and over again to watch this masterpiece. you've captured castiel's development perfectly. yeah he was responsible for a few bad things that happened but he always had good intentions. he never meant for things to turn out the way they did. he made mistakes, he's flawed too. he's not the perfect little soldier he was at the beginning of season four. he became human and developed so much throughout the seasons. he deserves so much better.

THE most heartbreaking video I've ever watched. Beautiful, absolutely stunning editing. Congratulations for this masterpiece, really.
WELL THAT WAS FEELS CENTRAL what a great use of the dialogue clips and showing his progression through the series; he's come so far, and even when he takes steps backwards he tries to hard to move forward again. I love the layering of the audio clips and especially just how many times the same themes or phrases come up over and over, and it made everything really impactful. Awesome video and definitely a new favorite of mine. c:

He gave up all he knew. Risked it all on a fine line that many didn't even know existed. He saw past what could happen to himself. He gave himself over to those he blindly trusted the most. Letting them guide him to a world he could have never imagined. He had *faith* in the Winchesters, and asked little in return.
This nearly made me cry, I swear I just wanna hug him and tell him how loved he is and that he deserves so much more! 😭😭😭

So... It's been a long time since I had cried watching a Cas video, and this one... It just sums up who Castiel is and his evolution throughout the seasons so perfectly.. I may or may not have watched it 10 times in a row...
