Just you wait. It gets even more confusing
LMAO SAME
Fate : I am the most confusing series
Neon genesis : hold my angel
tbh, I read my first evangelion manga at 7 y'o. it's not that complicated
@@boahankhim7352 the manga is not that complicated but the anime sure is
Steins Gate : lol
Monogatari takes the cake definitely.
@@slimesushi steins gate is my fav anime but these stuff are too complicated thats why i didnt even start evangelion and for fate i just watched unlimited blade works , stay night , grand order , last encore
“So without any further adieu, let’s get started.” 2 mins of adieu later..
xD
Honestly the only real watch order is:
NGE ‘95 (the Director’s cut eps are nice if you can watch them but not necessary))”>The End of Evangelion>The Rebuild of Evangelion (all 4 films). That’s it.
Don’t do anything convoluted like skip around when watching original NGE just watch in the normal episode order. Anno lays things out and gives you certain pieces at particular times for a reason.
Thanks for the no bs answer
You forgot the manga, which id recommend reading it after either NGE or the Rebuild Movies
@@akumank3508 No I didn’t forget about it. The manga is neat but it isn’t a Hideaki Anno work and isn’t canon to his original continuity/story. The author of the manga adaption Yoshiyuki Sadamoto also imagines the story and characters quite differently than Anno does. It’s quite an interesting interpretation of Anno’s original work and offers some really cool new takes on characters (really liked what Sadamoto did with Kaji, giving him a new backstory for instance, there were also a *ton* of interpretation that I thought was a stretch/off and didn’t make nearly as much narrative sense to me compared to Anno’s work but that’s just me) but I wouldn’t consider it a part of Anno’s continuity since he had little to nothing to do with Sadamoto’s adaption which is exactly that: an adaption/reimagining of Anno’s work. So imo the manga while quite good in its own right isn’t necessary, canon and is very separate from Anno’s Evangelion as another guy did the manga entirely.
That being said I don’t think it makes sense to not watch the Rebuilds last and end the entire story on the fourth rebuild which serves as the perfect endstamp to the entire ride imo. If someone is going to want to accept the manga into their own personal canon for the Annoverse it makes the most sense to read it after watching NGE+EoE before the Rebuilds if at all. I do think suggesting a new fan to include the manga in their first consumption of the Evangelion story is unnecessary and might drag things out for a new viewer. There’s lots of different things about Sadamoto’s version of NGE but it does essentially follow and track the same story Anno originally wrote in NGE ‘95. So it’s asking someone to watch NGE then go read the (more or less) same story from head to toe. Then start the Rebuilds which restarts you again in the first film to watch the same story (at least initially, the first film being like a 95% one-for-one of the early NGE story it covers with some small but important differences before the story starts to diverge from the original NGE with the post credits of 1.0 and starting the big, new branching path truly with 2.0). You watch and enjoy the Rebuilds partly because of how Anno writes them to rhyme and inverse with NGE and EoE before it. There aren’t any express nods, references or notable moments that are tied to Sadamoto’s manga in the Rebuid of Evangelion because Anno wasn’t even taking the manga into account when writing the conclusion to his magnus opus because again the manga isn’t his work.
So yeah. Imo read the manga at your leisure once you’ve gone through NGE>EoE>The Rebuild of Evangelion. It doesn’t make much sense to me to consume all the work of one author in Anno and then try to fit Sadamoto’s one manga done in a different style, thinking these characters are very different ppl than Anno’s take and having very different feeling character arcs into the canon brunt of Hideaki Anno’s masterpiece. The manga I think can potentially obscure what Anno builds long term with his characters and story for a first time viewer. A small non-spoiler example, but a first time viewer might think Kaworu is an obvious and simple PoS or sociopath (Sadamoto imagines Kaworu as a total scumbag at times) but that’s really not the ultimate point and arrival of his character in NGE let alone the Rebuilds. It’s confusing if a first time consumer of the story watches NGE, see Sadamoto take Anno’s story and characters out into left field (not always a bad thing but some of the time I feel like it is definitely an unfortunate departure), then come back to Anno’s story which is intended to be watched right after NGE+EoE anyway and expect them make sense of why their expectations of characters and who they are feels altered and like it’s not fitting. Save the manga as a fun read after you’re finished with Anno’s original works.
So I definitely stand by, ESPECIALLY for a first time viewer to go through NGE>End of Evangelion>Rebuild of Evangelion.
After watching, can confirm, this is the way to do it. Thanks for your comment, it sent me on the right path.
im a bit confused since i watched the show and than EoE and im confused why asuka is dead and idk im confused
Why is this anime so complicated 😑
I'm currently on episode 17 of neon genesis evangelion and I'm not ready what is gonna happen when I continue watching it 👍
when i started the first half the original series i was enjoying it alot but by the end of the original series, i damn near got a brain aneurysm
If I just watch the show and only watch End of Evangelion am I missing out on anything so like for example, In JoJo parts 7-8 are in a separate universe apart from the original Parts 1-6 So if I watch Just the show and end of Evangelion is all the other stuff canon that’s important?
I did the same. Been trying to watch it since 2010 but I was too afraid to. Finally watched them all yesterday
Skip to 1:25 this mf sure knows how to yap
i'll give this anime neon genesis evanGALION a go
Everyone is too stunned 😂 can't even comment
how u kno
Should I watch when I am depressed or when I am happy?
When ur depressed 👍👍
Yes.
When your depressed and when you are happy watch to become depressed
Confused
DEPRESSION DOES NOT EXIST!
So I just asked my adhd and she said I can’t watch it :/ sorry
So if you watch the movies you would have the same thing as if you watched all the epizodes?
No, Death and Rebirth is just a recap of all episodes. You miss out on a lot and wont understand cetrain things if you skip the anime.
@@icediamondshark4010 don't confuse him more bruv
bro why are there a few comments
Is there anyway to watch 3.0+1.0 like this??
Watch Order!
- Og Series: 1 - 24
- The end of evangalion: 25' - 26'
- The movies
My brain is ded
man i fcked up. i watched the original 26 episodes then we t straight to the final movie i must have missed too much -_-
same bro
Same ughh
us
I watched the original 26 episodes then went straight to the final movie i must have missed too much
My head feels tingly lmaoooo
just watch "Death & rebirth" then "end of evagenlion" and you'll get the most of the experience. I must admit the orignal anime is very good and emotional except the ending. The "new" movies 1.0 - 3.0+1.0 were ok almost good think of them as an alt timeline
thanks
Honestly. Felt like I wasted my time watching everything (but I'd feel guilty/pressured to watch everything and still would've anyway).
Idk about watching Death & Rebirth instead of the original series… I think watching the series gives a bigger emotional impact (despite the ending being a bit dodgy lol- ‘CONGRATULATIONS!’)
Just watch everything in release order. It’s the way it was meant to be seen otherwise they wouldn’t have made them in that order.
The order in this video is correct (except for the onas and spin-offs, they are not Anno’s continuity) and anyone that mixes and matches episodes and films is playing themselves and is making things infinitely more difficult than it has to be and is not watching the correct order meant by Hideaki Anno.
Where can I watch petit eva?
Bro maybe I will not see this anime after I heard abt it 💀💀
In my opinion, skip Death and 25,26 from original. Watch 1-24 and End of Evangelion.
Please do devil is a part timer pls?!
🤗 I will see if that possible ⚡
@@batrinine ok thanks
I’ve never heard of the Petit Eva one
Can someone write down The order please.... ? I'm so confused lol
Basically, watch the og anime, then watch end of evangelion if you didn't like the ending of the anime, and literally everything else is optional,it's not that hard
thanx
You welcome 🤗 thanks
It’s an “E” not an “A”
You just enumerated the series in the order of release...well, duh??? Useless info!
I use to think getting into Gundam is confusing but Evangeleon takes the cake. I was in a mood to try this series, but after seeing all these "cuts" I lost all interest.
Ima just watch the movies and im done 🗿
@@da-bloon-cat Yeah I finally watched Episode 1 to 20, 21-24 Directors cuts, then first hour of the end of Evangelion, then 25 and 26 and then the rest of End of Evangelion 4 days ago.
@@KennyOmegasCavity So how was your trumatising experience?
Finished the anime and it took me 2 weeks of procrastination to finally watch the Death & Rebirth movie. Kinda frustrated with the anime so far. Only watching because it's an anime I figure should say I've seen but I can't really get into it or maybe just don't get it since some things you have to get to get if you get what I'm getting at. Never been in to mecha/gundam anime but have always seen so much mental edits and how phycological the anime can be or be interpreted so I thought I could at least have that, but it's been so vague about stuff and idk... hard to attach to what the "story" is about. After watching an hour long recap in movie form, seeing Asuka's fight was pretty enjoyable and so was seeing the military people attack NERV. I guess I just want to know if I'm alone in feeling like this anime is needlessly long/vague and whether or not it'll get any better (story-wise I guess I really mean).
Also- I get Shinji is 15 and has some traumatic stuff happen, but dude is such a wimp/pushover and I wish Asuka gets rocked by him after being a constant punching bag ((I know he chokes her at some point but I don't know why [yet])).
Edit after finishing video: I hate this. Partially also why I'm not into this is because I'm afraid it'll just be an anime where the same story is told every time (which will then cause me to have to sit through the same scenes/plot points) with just a hint of something being different. Still want some opinions, but this'll be a series I'm not excited about finishing- but I will suffer through it.
monogatari hold my cup ☕
"evangalion" dawg
It's not hard just watch the show, skip the last two episodes and watch EoE. That's it.
what if i already watched the last 2 episodes
Girl bye My brain hurt watching this. I’m gonna start something
"Evangahlion"
Canon:
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth
Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion
Non-Canon:
Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone
Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance
Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo
Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time
I have seen everything
Is this anime worth watching?
Depends. Its a very unique show and requires fairly substantial emotional commitment to make it worth watching. It’s not a show you should watch casually.
@@chrispotter3190 okay thanks for telling 😁
@@chrispotter3190 I would say you’re being pretentious, but seriously, this is a anime you can’t watch casually.. it depends on you paying close attention.
This, Monster, and Steins Gate are anime that’ll leave you befuddled once you turn your attention elsewhere..
Peak

@@mr.penguin1480 🤡
Why do you talk like that
Speak properly bro
The most depressing anime
No 'Clannad after story' is :P
(good anime though)
The og anime and end of evangelion is a separate canon from the rebuild films of I'm not wrong
The rebuilds take place after the eoe and shinji rebuilds the world, that's why the ocean is red
Its like darling in the franxx
ty
You welcome 😁
